Best WLM Reviews
One of my favorite places to eat when I come to Vermont. Great bar atmosphere and casual dining with a beautiful view from the outdoor patio. You can order at the bar or through the app at your table and get a text when they're ready for you to pick up your food at the counter, but the atmosphere is restaurant table service. Food is so good and the PB burger is my favorite. Excellent selection of beer with the untappd stats menu showing at the bar. Nighttime on the patio is beautiful with the pretty lights around the deck turned on at dusk. Lots of little fire stations around the table as well, to keep warm.
Great stop for some good brews and great food.
The establishment is apparently located in both VT and NH which was cool. There's a line by the bar that tells you what state you're in.
The service was very good. I was a little worried reading the past reviews, but the server told me they recently got servers back, which was nice.
The beer was really good. A huge selection of styles, including sour IPA, hazy IPA, Amber ale, Hefenwizen, and stout. You can buy individual cans to go, which was nice.
The food was surprisingly good. We started with perogies and poutein. The perogies had good flavor. They were a little firm and were covered in cheese. The side of maple bacon sour cream for dipping had intense flavor. The poutein had great crispy fries, grated cheese, and deep fried cheese curds smothered in tons of gravy. Very unique but very tasty. My girlfriend got the Tim's awesome peanutbutter burger, and I got the fish and chips. The fish was huge and deep fried perfectly. The fries were nice and crispy and got added toy leftover poutein. The burger must have been amazing because I wasn't allowed to have a bite. Haha
Overall, very please with this place. I'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outback deck.
Visited from Massachusetts yesterday to watch the 2024 Solar Eclipse. We all got beers and apps and sat outside. Employees were pleasant, the beers were good and the apps were great. Especially the pretzel bites & parm fries!
Absolutely amazing food and beer! Brattleboro is the perfect mid way stop for us in trips to Berlington, and this is our go to lunch spot! The Smokeshow Burger was perfectly cooked and delicious! And the pretzel bits were a perfect appetizer! Highly recommend a beer flight and I loved my Blood Orange sour! The best thing here is the view! Window seats or deck seats (when it's warm!) are a must. Right on the Connecticut River overlooking some hills with great foliage.
Wanted to love this place. The vibe inside was warm and welcoming. Food was very average. Not bad, but not great. Pretzel bites and fries were very good, but the burger was over cooked and lacked any flavor. Beer wasnt much better. Service was unfortunately rather slow. They seemed to somehow forget a dish from my friends order and then questioned what he actually ordered.
Pros: good craft beer (at least according to my husband), bartender was friendly
Cons: food was not prepared to specifications, burger was way overcooked (asked for rare, see photo), clam strips were burnt and in small pieces. Took over 40 min to get food, there were only 4-5 seated tables.
You have to order your own food, parking lot is a nightmare (park across the street if you go), staff are not interested in conversation or being friendly (except the bartender), at least the dining areas were clean.
May 9, 2022: Traveling on the bridge over the Connecticut River from New Hampshire to Brattleboro, Vermont, the first restaurant you'll see is Whetstone. The scenery is beautiful and you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. There are heat lamps outside. We chose to sit inside. The service setup is unusual. You get your own drinks, napkins, and utensils, and you order food from your phone. The food comes out to you very quickly. What I like about the set up is you don't have to wait for a server to come to you to order food or to replenish your drinks. You don't have to wait for a server to bring the check to you as you can pay for your tab at any time. The food was outstanding. My friend had the cheese stuffed pretzel which she said was delicious. I had seared tuna and spicy chicken wings, both of which were very tasty. We also got the cole slaw and fries, which were both good.
I am definitely coming back here when the weather gets nicer! What a great location for a Brewery! The weather was Awful when we stopped in on Presidents Day but it was still a beautiful scenery! We were thrilled to get Flights and each tried different ones so we got the most of the experience. The setup was very cozy and well laid out! The staff was great and had no hesitation in giving their opinions and details of each beer we questioned. It made it much easier for us to decided which to go with. A big Perk for me was the Espresso machine! (And the offered a pretty full bar other then just Beer ????) It was always being well maintained and kept cleaned as people were coming and going. We didn’t get any of the food but from where we were sitting we could see most of it and it all looked great! Everyone else seemed happy with it.
Only thing we were bummed out about was that we realized this morning that we forgot our bag with the Souvenirs. ☹️ totally slipped our mind by the time we left. Oh well, looks like we have a great excuse to go back!!
