I love how incredibly bad every employee is at following simple instructions. The bacon is always severely undercooked, the seating area is almost never clean, you ask for lite ice and they give you an entire cup full of ice. The employees always look greasy like they haven't showered in over a week. Just a disgusting representation of what used to be one of my favorite fast food places. Because of this location it's now one of my last options I pick for food.
We walked in and were greeted by the most amazing young man, Lee Roy W. He was quick and efficient while being kind, polite and engaging. He was also wearing an old school Whataburger hat and I loved it! While he wasn’t at the register he stayed busy cleaning and straightening up the eating area. The food was delicious and fresh. Lee Roy had clocked out by the time we finished eating (I’m assuming he was waiting on his ride home), so the picture attached with this review was when he wasn’t on the clock. I’m attaching the pictures to make sure the right person gets the credit for his outstanding service. Whataburger, you definitely have a gem of an employee. And if the parents of Lee Roy W see this, you’ve done a fantastic job!
Missing 2 of my sides, fries are nasty… like what’s going on? have been giving it multiple tries but I’m no longer going to keep spending money in this place.
Update: october 1, 2024 9:50am this time i got my hashbrowns but they were old and hard and just completely disgusting
The service was great but we waited forever in the Togo line. But no complaints the food was hot and fresh
I ordered the #23 pancake platter with extra butter and syrup...no butter... really. Today must be a bad day for the workers when something as simple as butter doesn't make it into the order bag. One of my pancakes looks like it was cooked yesterday...and I could go on. I should've taken the long route to work, and went to the Whataburger on Beach x 820...at least my food wouldn't look like this and I'd have butter. (If it seems petty, my complaint, it's not... everyone knows butter goes with pancakes... ????)
Stopped in tonight (Tuesday) around 5:30. Only one couple inside already with their food, a couple cars in the drive thru.
Waited and waited while hearing a pretty good story someone was sharing and lots of laughs and all. I’m the first to want to keep the workplace fun but when a customer is waiting is ridiculous. Stuck around for another 5 min and still no service so left.
Went through the drive thru for a simple vanilla shake. At this time (roughly 3:15), this location wasn't necessarily busy with customers, but the order took a little longer than expected. I wasn't in a rush, but what made this trip memorable was the brief conversation with Lee Roy. He asked how my day was, and I asked in return to which he replied, "just steady hustlin'." He was accurate in his response as you could tell he was rushing to fulfill orders and get them out, even darting across to the other lane to assist the other customer. Lee Roy - keep doing what you're doing! Hang in there.
Great location! The food was made perfectly and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Let me say that this place is clean! We came in very late and although the place was empty it was great to see how the workers cleaning and prepping for the next day. I love that this location is just off HWY 35 so if you’re traveling and reading this. Know that it’s a very easy easy location to get on off and back on the highway again.
