This was my first and last visit. The store layout is very crowded and not intuitive for someone who has never been here before. It reminds me of New York style row/sidewalk shops. The selection is below mediocre. You would be better off going to a mega beauty supply or major chain store.
The cashier (an old Asian woman) was quite aggressive and pushy in trying to get me to buy a product I didn’t want. She watches you like a hawk while you shop. There was another customer in the store (Black male) and she asked him like 20 times if he needed help finding something but he kept saying “no”. That’s when I realized what was going on.
When I paid for my item, the cashier would not take the cash from my hand and motioned for me to place it on the counter. I understand that some cultures have this custom but I counted my change and she had given me too much back. When I handed the excess cash back—she took it directly from my hand. I avoided this place before my first visit and I should have kept that same energy. I will not return to shop and would advise other customers to stay away also. Natalya’s Beauty Supply is a short distance from here with excellent customer service.
Love this beauty supply store !! Very spacious and had everything I needed. Also the customer service was excellent!!
This store is literally right down the road from me, but I will drive right past it to spend my money somewhere else. The owner/manager is rude to her workers and belittles them in the presence of customers. The selection is not that great, either.
the young ladies are so nice every time i come in. they are so helpful and have beautiful personalities!
I dont know if they changed the admin, but for a while now, the place looks so much better and organized, with reasonable prices, and the attention has improved a lot. Dani and Tiva are amazing and are super helpful every time I visit.
I went in this store yesterday on 10/28/2021 the little old lady that works in the store was watching me and my son the whole time on the camera. As if I was going to steal something. She was asking me if I needed help over and over again. I said no and all of a sudden she comes running up to me and grabbed my purse and looked in it as if I had stolen something. And when I asked her what and why did she do that she tried to change the story and act as if she didn’t do anything wrong. I tried to ask for the manager but they stop asking my call. This needs to stop I’m so tired of these people trying to racial profile us and they need to stop.

Like you are now I read every review and was very hesitant to shop here. I gave the owner and her place of business a chance since it's most convenient to me.
This place has many many options which is why it's crowded. I feel this is good yet bad. Very easy to knock things over accidentally and the owner will shout from the register the entire time you're shopping.
I've been in and out of beauty supply stores all of my life as a hairstylist, mom of a daughter, and someone who does her own hair from braids, wigs, color, etc you name it.
Shopping here was convenient for me and I had no issues up until recently. The night before 10 minutes til closing I stopped by for a wig purchase. Being rushed the whole time I was t able to really look at the items long enough. I return very next morning and asked if I could exchange and pay the difference if needed. My items were thrown at me and the owner said " no refund no exchange policy " so I proceed to look for something different that I would like. I found something that I was ok with. I then get back to the register to politely ask the owner again if should could consider me exchanging this one time because I'm a regular customer that spends a very decent amount every visit and very often. ( Restocking Bally's, barrette, hair bows, beads etc etc just alone for my daughter I spend at least $200 ; not it's not required but this is a normal for me and my daughter)
The owner proceeded from behind the counter to disrespectfully tell me no and let's me know that I am stealing and she will be calling the police. I beg to differ I then stated that I am not stealing I'm standing right in front of the register. The owner then attacks me and try to snatch everything out of my hand. Continuously charging at me the owner then knocks my 5 yo daughter over to the ground and lands directly on top of her ! Needless to say I was furious at this point.
You would think the lady would end it here NOT !
She continues to charge after me while on the phone with Newton Sheriff Dpt. I then defended myself and put the owner to the floor where she belonged!
Thank goodness there was a second customer to witness the entire thing. Once sheriff arrived she began to act as if she's having a heart attack and can't stand. WHICH WAS A BIG ACT!
I DID PRESS CHARGES AND SHE IN FACT HAD TO CLOSE HER STORE EARLY AND WALKED AWAY IN HAND CUFFS. This incident was also on the news.
If you care about who you're spending your hard earned money with I would suggest by passing this horrible excuse for a business.
The neighbors ( tiki smoke shop ) comforted me and my children at the time of this incident and stated that they never shop there because the owner is very racist to brown skin people. That statement came from a very nice young lady who understood my frustrations who was obviously a different race than I !
What the hair should be shut down or the owner should do herself a favor and never show her face again !
I love the customer service they are so helpful and always so sweet
