Best WLM Reviews

Took 35 minutes to get my food and it wasn’t edible. The fish was overcooked and nasty. I wasted more than $15 which included a 20% tip. I’m confident that you have a better chance winning the lottery than getting your money’s worth here. You’ve been warned.
This was a nice find. We were leaving Charlotte, heading to Raleigh and searching for a burger fast food joint that wasn’t just a McDonald’s. We found this What-A-Burger and were pleasantly surprised. It was 12 minutes out of the way but had a good Google rating.
We honestly thought is was a Whataburger like you find in the south Florida to Texas, but when we pulled in we were surprised that it seemed to be an old school drive in like (like a Sonic), but almost every spot was full, so we figured it must be good.
We ordered and the staff was very courteous and thorough to make sure they got all of our add-ons and clarity on toppings we didn’t want. To no surprise our order came out perfect. The lady who came to the car was very nice! They had seating inside as well.
Everything about this place was great. It appears like a hole in the wall, but I’d rather eat here than any of the other burger joints we passed on the way.
P.S. We all had burgers, fries, extra crispy fries, and tater tots. The drinks were huge.
I'm from Texas so naturally when I learn of a local business with the same name as our Texas icon I felt I needed to try it. I went into this with no intention of comparing the two chains and this review is of this place as it is!! I went to this location because it was the top rated in the area and from the great service of the staff I can see why. I will say I'm pleasantly surprised at how wide the options on their menu stretched, and in the end I ordered their top rated food items and the local treats you can't really get anywhere else. So I ordered the Double What-A-Cheeseburger which was decent sized, fresh, and juicy. For the sides I went with the curly fries and onion rings, which were pretty much what you'd expect. Their two unique drink concoctions I tried were the "Cherry Lemon Drop" which was great, and the "Witch Doctor" which as you can see from the picture has quite a bit of Pickle in it which probably was just too much for me, so of the two definitely the Cherry lemon is my recommendation. Lastly for dessert I asked the ladies working the counter what their best dessert was and one of them stepped forward and said hands down their "Funnel cake Fries" with Choclate dipping sauce, which they definitely need to formally publish on their advertised menu cause it was definitely a unique treat that stood out from anything else offered!! Bottom line is it the best in the world, no, did I enjoy my meal and recommend this place, yes!!
Old School and Tasty! Definitely love the small town feel of this pull up diner! ????
Their fried fish platter ???? was amazing for frozen food products! Kudos to the Cook! Their fried items were cooked absolutely perfect! "These are the best fries ???? in the world!" ???? My daughter exclaimed! Crinkle cut with a little crunch! ???? YUMMMM! Tarter sauce is sweet... I like it! Coleslaw is light and creamy.
The only thing I found disappointing is their burgers! ???? Their main dish? ???? They're smash burgers it seems and super thin... my husband said they're decent, but you can tell from the photos that the burger just isn't worth the price you pay...(even if it's only 6 bucks!)
They should remodel... what a Lil paint would do!
Need to do better at checking food before going into bag, Ordered a What A Cheese Burger with bacon, only ketchup and mayo. What I got was lettuce, tomato and onion.
We don't eat there, we take it to go home.
My husband was missing the meat. Had bun with lettuce, tomato and onion and mayo but no meat. He is pissed.
DO BETTER
Pressure wash needed on outside surfaces. Grease dropped everywhere it seems. Burger with jalapeños was good. Staff were pleasant.
So nasty, food was soggy and sloppy, napkins empty, we were the customers inside and four cars outside, staff laughing playing and having a big ol time. owns this establishment, you're getting ripped off, and it's affecting your business as we will never be back. Heads up, go to GARYS. You would never see this there.
Recommended by the store next door I thought it'd be better because it's more of like a HomeTown place. but my hamburger barely had any seasoning on it. The curly fries were good though and the service was friendly
