Best WLM Reviews
This was my first experience as a new patient, and it was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. I had done thorough research and chosen Dr. Joseph Rojas based on his excellent reviews. I scheduled an appointment for an annual exam and to discuss fertility, with my appointment set for 10:45 AM. I arrived early, at 10:20 AM, to complete any required paperwork.
Despite arriving early, my name wasn’t called until 11:40 AM. When I was finally brought back, I was informed that the appointment was only for a consultation, not an annual exam. This was surprising since I was under the impression that the appointment included an annual exam. The nurse explained that I could only choose one: either the consultation or the annual exam. As a cash-pay patient who had already paid $295 without issue, I asked for the cost of the exam, but the nurse couldn’t provide an answer, saying that billing would need to determine the amount.
Having already waited so long, paid, and been present, I decided to proceed with the consultation. I was genuinely excited, as I felt like I was finally taking charge of my health and addressing important concerns!
However, around 11:50 AM, the doctors assistant returned to inform me that Dr. Rojas had decided to decline me as a patient. I was left feeling deeply frustrated after waiting over an hour, only to be turned away without even having a consultation with the doctor. I was nothing but respectful, arrived early, and was excited to finally take this important step for my health.
In the office, I started crying out of confusion and frustration, not understanding why I was being rejected as a patient. This experience was not only a waste of my time and money but also completely unprofessional and deeply disheartening.
If staff cannot take the time to see a new patient and answer basic questions like “I’m paying out of pocket and would like this service. How much would I owe you?” And then promptly kick out a new patient for asking about the costs of a service, then this business deserves to go under. The fact that Dr. Rojas is acting like he’s an untouched diva that can turn anyone away for asking a simple question after his patients sit in the waiting room for an hour is hilarious. The amount of patients that I hear about that leave crying due to staff’s lack of harmony is gross. Will be warning every woman about this dumpster fire of a business.
First off, I want to say that Dr Lisa Roberts is a good doctor. When she did my surgery 6 months ago, she made me feel at ease throughout the process. However, the office is very poorly managed. She asked me to come back 6 months after to check on my progress. I was calling the office to give them a heads up that I'm running late, it took 2 calls and a 10-minute wait time for someone to pick up the phone. I was told they have a 10-minute lead time policy, and if I miss it I will have to reschedule. I repeatedly pleaded my case to the staff - told her to extend consideration at this time since I'm driving all the way from the northwest and I have always been on time with my appointments with them. For each of those visits, I patiently waited for AT LEAST AN HOUR to be seen by my doctor. I have never complained, until now. These people have no regard for patient care! Because of their 10-minute policy, they are risking my health! I didn't get to see my doctor as my plea fell on deaf ears! I have waited for 6 months for this schedule to see my doctor so she can make sure I'm healing well internally. How is it that it is okay for me to wait for at least an hour each time, and then when I was late for more than 10 minutes they will not let me see my doctor? These people think their time is more precious than their patients!!
From what im told this Office Lies about cost. Make sure to get the prices up front before you do anything. If you set up a Check up please make sure you have it in writing that is what you are getting and paying for. Its really sad you have to go through all that in order to feel safe and not to get scammed. Also getting Turned away without even getting to meet the Dr Joseph Rojas for asking questions is not a good sign.
I am incredibly disappointed by my experience with Dr. Joe Rojas at WHASN Meadows.
TLDR: I had severe complications from a routine hysterectomy performed by Dr. Rojas. The complications included several hospitalizations for a terrible infection, a collapsed lung, pneumonia and pleural effusion. I have been unable to work for months. I need accommodations to return to work but he is unwilling to fill out the forms that I need to get the accommodations that would allow me to work again.
The full story:
I was suffering from uterine fibroids and went to WHASN. I was initially extremely pleased that Dr. Rojas approved a hysterectomy for me. I am in my 30s and I don’t have children.
When I told him about my issues in the past regarding doctors not approving my sterilization because I am childfree, Dr. Rojas enthusiastically affirmed my choice and said ‘Your body, your choice.’ This made me happy because he actually listened to my needs, that would soon change.
I scheduled my surgery. The staff at the hospital were friendly and I thought that everything seemed to have gone well after it was done. I was sorely mistaken.
I have had 3 other surgeries in my life and I have not experienced anything like this.
About 5 days after the surgery, I was hospitalized for an ileus. It can be dangerous, but this a common complication from surgery.
At the ER a collection of fluid was found near my liver, but the doctors said that it could just be from trauma to the area from the surgery.
It took about 10 days for the ileus to resolve. I was discharged from the hospital still in acute pain. I could not sit up on my own or walk without assistance. I eventually had to use a walker to get around.
The pain got worse, and I got antibiotics from WHASN. Dr. Rojas was on vacation at the time, so I had to follow up with other doctors in the office.
Eventually the pain was too much and I was instructed to go back to the hospital by WHASN.
A very large abscess was found on my liver. A drain was inserted into my side as 500 ccs of puss slowly leaked out of my body for about a week. The pain was excruciating and I was on morphine and other opioids.
The abscess was so heavy that my lung collapsed. One of the nurses told me that I was lucky that I didn’t get sepsis from it.
My breathing was labored and painful. I was discharged with instructions to see a pulmonologist.
The pulmonologist told me to get my lung cavity drained. A long needle was stuck through my back and into my lungs and the fluid was pulled out.
The pain decreased significantly, but I still had issues breathing. I was hospitalized yet again for pneumonia. The infection from my liver made it to my lungs.
I was bedridden for about two months. I am in physical therapy because my muscles atrophied.
When I had follow up appointments, at WHASN I would have to wait for 1-2 hours in the waiting room to be seen. It is almost impossible to get someone on the phone. You will not get quick assistance from this office. You have to leave a message and hopefully get a call back in several days.
It has been 5 months since the surgery. I have permanent scarring on my lungs. I have had 1-4 doctors appointments every single week.
Dr. Rojas explained that there was saline, used to flush the surgery site, left in my body after the surgery that got infected.
As the months went by, Dr. Rojas became progressively short and rude during my appointments. I felt rushed, and at one appointment, he walked out of the door in the middle of me speaking.
Unfortunately, my FMLA has run out but I am no longer able to perform my previous job. My company is willing to transfer me to a work from home job as I heal, but Dr. Rojas refuses to fill out the paperwork for me. I have called and emailed his office, but they do not respond.
Do not go to WHASN Meadows if you want personal or quality care. After some research, I found that Dr. Rojas lost a medical malpractice lawsuit for taking the wrong ovary out during a surgery. I wish I found that out before this surgery.
Read every last line of your bill! I’ll be back with a full update! As of right now Edgar is charging for separate visits for anything talked about during your pap! You know the exam we go to yearly and are normally encouraged to tell our drs about our female health. Ha they wonder why we don’t say anything? And when she asked me if i was depressed she changed me for an evaluation. She must be broke. Well. ….
the most unprofessional health clinic i have ever seen/experienced in my life. it’s so funny how of course the website has absolutely no “contact us” but you’re not slick definitely will be reporting your business to BBB, SBA. this is ridiculous
Great clinicians but poorly managed office. Wait times are abnormally long both in the office and for calls. This office repeatedly overcharged me for copays to a point where I was owed hundreds of dollars. After reaching out on two separate occasions to the office manager (Jennifer) for help resolving the matter, I never received a return call. I was told by the staff that it's been resolved with no explanation into what caused the issue in the first place. I was basically told to see what happens at my next appointment. An unnecessarily stressful experience during an already stressful time. WHASN Meadows can benefit from implementing a customer service training for their office management and staff. Again, great clinicians but they need to be surrounded by a stronger office management team.
