It is a beautiful property. The room was large and comfortable. The only problem was the bed. It was so mushy and concave. It was impossible to get a good night’s sleep. We were in room 224. When we asked for another room, the staff said all the beds were like that. So unfortunate!
Alright, this is going to be lengthy.
We were recommended this resort through our wedding venue "Reflections at Buttes" on oracle Rd, because they worked with Westward look for Wedding Blocks at a great cost.
From the moment we got into contact with Westward look, My Now Husband and I's experience with these people have been way less than Stellar.
We were transferred between 3 people over email to manage our wedding block and whenever I sent any questions, it was silence for days on end. No one has told us that we were sending emails to a dead email because the person originally handling our block no longer worked at the resort.
My guests and us have tried to call and talk to these people about booking rooms and asking questions, only to be told their office hours were from some point in the morning to 3pm. We've called various times in between the times they provided us and they were STILL not in office ironically. This was over the course of months between us and our guests.
We had to go in person to talk to someone before our cutoff date because no one would answer the emails or calls.
The only person who seemed to know what was going on, was Barbra. I think she is a general manager of the resort, probably was the most helpful in this time of stress and was the one to finally get us some sort of answers. She was also very nice compared to everyone else we had contact with.
Thank gosh for my Now Husband for keeping me in check when we went in person because my patience with them was almost non-existent since our wedding was less than a month out when we had to go in person. He's the more level headed when talking to others who have left us in the dark.
Dealing with this resort had been the biggest stressor throughout our entire wedding planning process because we had many of our guests complain to us that they couldn't get into contact with the resort to book their rooms for our wedding.
We had issues with the front desk with some of our guests who wanted to check in because they wanted to relax a little bit before the wedding began.
These are the same people I have booked these rooms for via email and have provided contact Info for and the names of the people who would be checking in under those rooms since they were rooming together with the bridal party members since they were family.
They refused to let the family members check in and they had to leave to wait until the wedding was over for my bridesmaids to show up so they can check their family in. It was overall a shit show on the resorts end, since I had told them the names of the people checking in were on the main list.
After everyone was checked in, we had many reports of our guests having rude experiences with the front desk, bad customer service from everyone they came into contact with. When my husband finally went to the front desk and told them that he was the main cardholder of the hotel block, they changed their attitude.
When we think of a room block, I'd assume that we would all be staying in the same building or two buildings next to each other.
Everyone was placed randomly and it was completely disorganized, it was really disappointing since we all wanted to try and talk to each other before we went to our rooms for the night but couldn't since we were so far apart. It was ludicrous. Even the other half of the family was placed all the way across the damned resort next to the handicapped, completely away from everyone else.
We all had various issues with our rooms when we stayed there.
The handicapped room: the bed was too high for my grandfather to get up in and hand to get help to get into. The restroom was some how LOWER than the normal toilets in regular rooms and he needed to call for help.
We had a situation where one of our doors just popped open despite being locked, luckily by one of our guests and not a stranger. But still a dangerous situation.
Cleanliness was an issue, and multiple malfunctions.
Overall do not recommend for a wedding. We had others but I have exceeded the limit. The only positive was the view we got.
Lovely, spacious room, with beautiful views! Property tends to be less manipulated and more natural than most Tucson resort properties (which I feel is a plus). Definite nods to the era it was built in, as the mid-century details are seen throughout, and yet the room we stayed in was fresh and current. As we walked the property, one could envision the setting to be a lovely place to have a wedding, stay-cation, or holiday get-away. We will definitely stay again and hopefully have more time to explore the horse stables and nature trails. PS the pools are well kept and super refreshing!!
Love this resort. We have been going here for over 25 years and always leave feeling great. This year they paved the walking trail which is a great upgrade! Rosa (our pool comedian and all around amazing person) always makes us laugh and feel welcomed! Hillary is always willing to help us make sure our reservation is just right.|Thank you for another great bday weekend! See you in December !!
Love this hotel! Has a great vibe and great atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The menu has a lot of delicious items to choose from. The service is excellent and Greg the bartender served up some amazing cocktails in the lounge. Will definitely be back soon!
Unique discovery of a resort setting in suburban Tucson. Beds were pretty good and room quiet. On Sunday at five the prime rib dinner is $25. Very nice restaurant and we ate outside. Beautiful pool setting. Place is in a unique setting, but very enjoyable.
We celebrated my mom's 90th birthday party with all our family members. Everything from the Palm Room party to our casitas were impeccable. Hopefully you will meet Rosa at the pool. She is so fun and sweet - went above and beyond for our needs. I'd like to thank everyone at the front desk and the catering manager for their hard work in making the weekend one we will never forget.
I stayed for four nights on a work trip. The rooms are very spacious. I loved the walking paths and gym. The hotel was decorated for the holidays which was really nice. Overall, a great stay.
