Best WLM Reviews
The doctors and staff are efficient, knowledgeable, caring and thorough. I have been screened and treated for skin cancers for the past 35 years. This is one of the top dermatology centers. So glad I was referred to Westside Dermatology!! People I can trust.
Was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to see a provider to check an area of concern on my leg. Front office personnel were very polite and efficient, and I was extremely relieved at how the Physicians Assistant performed a biopsy so gently and quickly, respecting my anxious nature. Very, professional with an immaculate office, coffee and free parking. Despite not getting to see my regular provider (Dr. Kelli Arntzen) on such short notice, I was extremely satisfied with my care. I’ve been Westside Dermatology patient for over 25 years.
So disappointed with Westside Dermatology. I went for an appointment over a year ago for a simple check up. Received a giant bill 7 months later. Never was able to connect with anybody about the bill and then was quickly sent to a collections agency. I will not be going to this clinic again!
Dr. Ramsey and his medical assistant were both kind and professional. As a woman in a vulnerable position alone in a room with two male-presenting providers, I felt respected and safe. Thank you for creating a comfortable medical environment.
I arrived early as I usually do for my DR appointments which worked out well as I couldn't get the app to navigate, I was received, sat down and drank my first cup of coffee in a year, delicious, was called in early so I didn't feel hurried, the staff upon entering the office were calm and organized. I was escorted and was able to clarify my needs, the PA-C was very pleasant, she was in no hurry, calm and listening well, left for a moment and right back in with the DR. You know you're in good hands when you get a sense of calmness. My concerns were addressed ,a couple of prescriptions, a couple of biopsies and we were done. I really liked and appreciated their interest and care.
Thanks
Had the worst experience here. They’re clearly very busy and maybe over scheduled.
Everything felt rushed and not personable at all.
Even though their forms ask for preferred name, I was repeatedly called the wrong name and when I corrected Dr, she looked at me annoyed and didn’t apologize or make the name correction. The assistant did apologize but my point is why ask for preferred name if you’re not going to bother to read my chart and respect my wishes. It’s a simple ask but one that absolutely matters!
Dr has horrible. She had zero bedside manner and I’d describe her as a “Karen”. She wasn’t gentle with the small procedure I had and didn’t explain the process or aftercare before the procedure and my eyes swelled almost shut and face was swollen for days and took much longer to heal than I expected and I now have a scar on my face. If things had been clearly explained to me, I would not have opted for the procedure (some kind of biofreeze). I felt like the Dr actually enjoyed causing me pain simply because I corrected her about my name!
It was also odd that the Dr and her assistant were having a conversation about random things between themselves during my appointment. Why are they chit chatting like I’m not even there?
I’ll NEVER go back here and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The WORST patient experience I’ve ever had.
Seems to have gone downhill lately. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this practice. It seems to be under new ownership under some corporation out of California. I was told my provider Kari Paulson (physician assistant) was somehow not in-network for a short time during my visit and now they want me to pay out of pocket - despite having insurance that has always been accepted here by my usual provider. The office assistants checked my insurance card prior to my appointment, but they did not verify or warn me my visit was no longer insurable. I called to inquire afterwards and was given the usual terms and conditions speech that it ultimately falls in you to verify yourself blah blah. The worst part was that I didn't feel like the PA listened to me and just spoke down to me and ultimately did not help with my issue at all. I wouldn't see her again even if they paid me for the visit. If you go definitely see Dr. Markus instead.
Happy with the care received, but billing has been largely a big issue. I currently have an outstanding bill, which during an in office visit I was told by the doctor that my insurance would take care of it. I understand that everyone's insurance is different, but I do believe before stating that my procedure would be free either someone from the office or the doctor, should have verified it. Now I am left with a bill. If I would have known the cost I would have avoided the procedure or parts of the procedure which were offered during the visit. In addition the paper bill that they send you from the larger dermatology group that they belong to (one of them) sends you to a website to pay a bill and doesn't have an option to actually pay it. Really unhappy with the overall experience. I do feel that Dr. Markus is a great, caring doctor, but inability to reach the office by phone, failed communications around cost estimate, one of the billings falsely representing the fact that you can pay online is too many issues to come back to.
