Forgot to post the ribs and shrimp, but they were good. Tender, par boiled, but still good grill taste. More variety of menu items. Big difference since my last visit where I was certain never to return, but I'm glad I changed my mind! Great Birthday feast!
For a place with BBQ in the name they have a really wide-ranging menu: burgers, fish, tacos, various non-BBQ sandwiches, pitas, broasted chicken, and more.
Only a few tables occupied on a rainy Friday before noon so getting seated was no issue.
The decor feels more American or maybe Italian/Greek restaurant. Lots of booths with high backs, several tables I the middle.
Went with a pulled pork sandwich which comes with, unusual in my experience, coleslaw, lettuce and tomato on it (I took them on the side) and fries. Never understood the idea of coleslaw on a sandwich.
The fries were hot & unsalted (thank you!), the pork tender and lightly sauced already. The sauce is rather generic and there appears to be no spices added to the meat via rub or other preparation or during the advertised 14 hr cooking time. Nothing wrong with that, just saying.
The slaw was good, too, but similarly unseasoned save some poppy seeds.
And finally, no country music. In fact, no music at all.
I have been here multiple times. But today I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. It was great. Portion was huge and lots of flavor. I have tried other food and it was so so. Today I really enjoyed the salad. Solid 7.8 out of 10. Elona was are server and was awesome. She turned me on to the buffalo chicken salad. My friend ordered the Italian sub and was also happy.
We drove 25 minutes from downriver based on rave reviews. Ordered a family dinner (To go) that was supposed to include 8 pieces of chicken . Ours only had 7. Pretty annoying considering we ordered to feed a certain number of people. Otherwise everything was fine. Friendly employees.
By far the worst customer service experienced speaking to an owner of any establishment. I was charged extra for ordering a Caesar salad with my dinner for two. I called back and expressed that the potatoes were extremely undercooked and I was given the wrong salads. I expressed that even if I wanted to eat the salad..there was one Tomato and maybe two or three croutons and no dressing. The owner was very rude. Told me I should’ve brought it back even though I picked it up right before They were closed. He said I had to bring it back. He interrogated me like I was lying And saying that he’s going to review the cameras so on so forth.. even though I have been a loyal customer for years. I wasn’t asking for a refund or even a replacement was just letting them know my experience so it wouldn’t happen again. He was very prideful and let me know that he doesn’t need my business. People like that get to comfortable thinking they built a business with customer base so now they can treat you any kind of way and serve you any kind of food and keep making money. I will never again spend a dollar in that place…they treat you like you Don’t matter, even though you’re spending your hard earned money And not receiving what you ordered.. Stay far away from this place If you have any issues with your food.. it will not be corrected..you will be disrespected and disappointed…you will not get your money back
My husband and I went early in the afternoon.. our server was very attentive. I started with French onion soup which was tasty my husband ordered a house salad which was a huge disappointment it was lettuce cherry tomatoes and croutons only and he doesn’t like tomatoes lol. I ordered the chicken rib and fish combo the ribs were great very tender the chicken was good but cold in some places. The fish tasted like it was frozen. All together the experience was cool. Might return not sure
I haven't been in years, but the food was still great. staff was wonderful.
And it's still was a nice atmosphere I We'll be returning sometime soon.
I have been craving for some broasted chicken. I also made an awesome potato salad so I have some leftovers to eat it with my potato salad. they are very good. they do a great job here.
