Great job Westminster Mall Management team!! Today was a wonderful day! The mall felt alive and so many people everywhere! Parking lots were packed and stores had lines!! More of these events please, it brings in so much traffic! This place felt so alive today it makes me so happy!! ????????✨
This place is a fascinating melancholic and creepy liminal-space. Half the stores are closed or rundown. The ones that WERE open are hanging on but the dim lights are starting to fade.
And there’s only one escalator working when I went.
What’s captivated me however is the amount of novel stores and attractions here. There’s a vending machine selling Bootleg copies of Pokémon. There’s an abundance of (basically) gambling machines where you push a key through a hole. But you’ll never get one. An empty promise.
John’s Incredible Pizza, a very popular arcade/restaurant was closed. I saw graffiti on one of the Photo Booth stalls.
Overall, this place is dead but it’s cozy in a way.
Came on a Saturday afternoon and this place was a complete ghost town. The opposite you’d expect on the busiest day at the mall. More than half of the stores were closed or empty. It’s clear that this mall is struggling and may be on the brink of closure. It is a shame to see how vibrant this place used to be is now eerily depressing.
Don’t bother or waste your time even coming to this wasteland. 80% of the store are gone… 10% have their door/pulldowns closed with lights on so you can’t go in. The Target wont even give you access from inside the mall, you have to go all the way around through Macy’s and out the front. Good God this is ridiculous and sad!! NO security… 2 workers walking around looking like they are trying to clean…. They are just waiting out leases so they can close and demolish.. The land is worth more than their reputation at this point. If it wasn’t for Target, JC Penney, Macey’s, there would be more crickets than people roaming this erie funhouse… Not worth it… Many other great malls still thriving in area.
I’ve spent most of my childhood, teens and adulthood coming to this mall. Coming back to visit after a few year and noticing that about 90% of the stores here are closed truly saddens me. My wife and I have many memories shopping and coming to this mall. It’s sad to see that this mall is closing down. It’s completely dead, even the stores at the food court is gone too. What happened to this iconic mall? And what are they planning to do with it now?
Went to the mall Saturday for Santa pictures with the Grandkids. Pulled up out front of Macy's and there is a man in full tactical gear. He has a gas mask on and some type of Go pro looking camera strapped to the front of his helmet, his face is completely covered. He's in all black with a backpack on and what appears to be some type of Rifle over one arm and knives or weapons of some sort strapped to his thighs. I immediately call mall security to let them know this man is in the parking lot so i don't know maybe they could lock the mall doors, call the police, something. The person i speak to in the security office could not care ONE bit! Says oh were having a Anime costume event today so i wouldn't worry about it. i said this man is not dressed Anime (pokemon is Amime) I describe exactly what this man is wearing down to the weapons and gas mask and the security officer is just like oh I'm sure its nothing, its just a costume!! Im sorry but in todays day and age with mass school and public shootings you dont let people walk around the mall dressed like that!! I said oh ok if thats acceptable for you we will shop at another mall and he said okay enjoy your day. Not one care in the world! Shame on you Westminister Mall! No wonder all your store are closed and out of business if this is your attitude towards shoppers safety! We will never be back at your mall!
Don't be fooled by the other reviews. 99% of the shops are closed / out of business. Spent alot of money to uber to have a look at the 120+ shops. Almost none there. Waste of time. Felt sorry for a couple of the shops that are left.
A Once Busy Mall Home of every major retailer is Breathing it's last breaths and awaiting the Developers to take it off of life support as only 1 out of every 20 businesses that called this place home are left see the photos.
