The GI practice here is a joke. I came 10 min late to the appointment at 8am and was turned away. Because the NP who isn’t even a doctor said she won’t see me. The waiting room was empty. So who could be next? Casper? I didn’t see the ghost. The receptions was poor at advocating for the patient. And was talked to nicely about what my diagnosis was. I rather go to Harlem Hospital . What a waste of time going before work.
Honestly there are some good doctors who deserve a better work environment. WestMed might as well be a criminal enterprise with the way they pull surprise bills on patients. Do not trust this establishment. I have told myself for years not to trust them and after not seeing anyone there for several years I decided to give them another try. That was a mistake. They are either run by CEOs that are absolutely clueless on how to properly run a healthcare organization or they're actually criminals. Either way save yourself the trouble. I know it's hard because they almost run a monopoly in Westchester but try to find a different practice, they're not worth the headache.
I wish I could give the GI department 0 stars. Went in for pain and waited longer than I was in the examination room for. I saw Nermina Islamovic. I asked for blood work to rule out infection and was told that she "will not order blood work" for me and that I needed to go the ER. $70 for a press on the stomach. Worst PA EVER!
Just noticed all the horrible reviews and thought I would mention miy experience. I usually am seen at my local WestMed location but I was sent about 20 minutes away to see a doctor no one knew anything about. I arrived to the location at the time I was told to but parking took 5 minutes because unlike my usual location that has parking the one I was sent to doesn't. When I arrived I was sent to 2 different floors and no one knew the doctor I was talking about. Finally when they figured out who the doctor was they told me I was running too late for my appt. I was 25 minutes late because of them! When I told them the whole story all they can say is "We have policies!"... but what about parking? And not to mention with all of WestMed you need to schedule your appt weeks ahead because they're doctors are never available, and you'll be lucky if they don't reschedule your appt without your knowledge or permission. WestMed needs to do better!!
I think this place is horrible. The director, Christina, is a terrible manager. She constantly berates her staff in front of patients. She lies, will put stress on her physical therapists only for the benefit of herself. She is the most selfish, conniving and AWFUL human being I have ever come across. Please, Summit Health, get rid of this woman. She is bad for business and terrible.
Good luck getting in touch with someone at the physical location. I was calling to ask questions about the physical therapy location. I kept calling their number in Purchase NY and everytume was sent to a call center in the Phillipines. Whats the point of having a 914 area code? The way the medical system is set up is so frustrating, I dont even want to receive help from such a dysfunctional organization.
Called and made an appointment saying it would be through no fault after an MVA, they said okay it will either be that or medical insurance, came here they said they can’t bill no fault, we said okay we will bill through x insurance they said no and made us do self pay despite us confirming everything on the phone prior. Fraudulent activity and/or they need to train their employees to be on the same page
Hands down the worst receptionists I have ever encountered. First floor receptionists they are a disaster. They barely acknowledge you and when they do is with an attitude!
