We received the best care for a very close Family Member recently from Dr. Bryan Blair at the Westmed Group in Rye, NY. Dr. Blair has an excellent team at Westmed, and his Nurses are wonderful caring skilled professionals. Dr. Blair is highly knowledgable in the Urology department and relates well to patients. He answers questions, addresses concerns, and was very informative when it came to our family member's medical procedure. I highly recommend him and the Westmed Group.
This place uses a call center to get in touch with your doctor. It is so bad, impractical, inefficient, and frustrating that any level of service from the actual physicians and offices doesn't even matter. It's appalling that management of this health system has removed any sense of human-doctor relationship in favor of $$$ by using a ridiculous call center just to try to reach your physician's office and front desk. Don't bother using Westmed, it's more frustration than it's worth. And other docs actively recruit against this call center because everyone knows how atrocious it is.
3 weeks ago I went to this Urgent care with a horrible horrible wet cough.I literally had no strength and was very fatigued. I was examined by a PA who told me my lungs were clear and to go home and rest, it was an upper respiratory .
Still not feeling even a bit better I waited then went to my Dr where another PA examined me and said I’m sending you for a chest xray and starting you on antibiotics. Xray came back and I had pneumonia .
If I was diagnosed properly I would have been feeling a bit better than I am right now.
She was terrible!!!
I made an appointment 6 months ago to have blood work done at the lab in Rye. I got several reminders about the appointment including a message that my appointment was in 2 hours. I got there about 10 minutes early only to be told there was a 2hr. Wait!!! That’s ridiculous that they expect someone to wait 2 hours for a simple blood test. Their excuse was that they are “changing their system”and again, poor excuse. If things were running that far behind, a text message or email should have been sent, explaining to come 2 hours later or reschedule. There is no consideration for their patients.
In the year 2024 I go to book an appointment with my primary care doctor only to discover that she no longer works for Westmed. On top of that, I can’t seem to get in contact with anyone who works directly inside the facility. Only third-party customer representative agents. When I finally get a hold of someone I can actually understand, I’m told that I would like to book an appointment that I would physically have to go to the facility.
Westmed seems to be a great facility. Westmed offices have all types of Doctors which makes providing each specialist with your records very simple. There billing sysmtem works well and most offices don't worry about payment until they get a notification from your insurance of what your responsible is.
The Rye office has horrible customer service. They forced me to reschedule an annual physical and blood work after being "over 10 minutes late" to my appointment while I arrived on time and they checked me in late. There were no other patients being assisted in front of me, I was told to take a seat and wait to be checked in. The White Plains office is much more organized and understanding, would strongly discourage going to the Rye office if you have the option!
Don't leave without your records. They hold them hostage and you will never speak to a real person in the facility.
