Best WLM Reviews
Very good buffet, and i have to hand it to them, they managed the mass of people with ease. They were closed during Hurricane Helene and Milton that destroyed so much in Spruce Pine. The first few days when they reopened, the lines were out the door and into the parking lot. Thank you for doing what you do so well!
The buffet is always excellent as is the salad bar.
It is the best value anywhere
As for service your glass will never be empty.
Facility is clean and maintained so I highly recommend the restaurant
We stopped in to eat dinner on Friday, June 7th around 6pm. The line was out the door but it moved QUICK. The buffet and service were wonderful. Our waitress was so attentive and made sure we had full drinks, fresh plates and our table cleared of any used plates. There was a nice selection of meats and veggies which were tasty. The salad bar was my favorite! The desert bar had a little bit of everything. The place was clean and atmosphere felt comfortable. I would definitely stop in again when in the area.
The food was NOT good. It looked good, smelt ok, but everything was either over cooked or under cooked. Our server ignored us the whole time we were there, and we had to get an extra plate from a different server. All in all, we will NEVER go back. I've had 3-day-old leftovers that tasted better.
Western Sizzler restaurants are few and far between. When I saw a Western Sizzler in Spruce Pine I had to give it a try. Was I amazed this is a very old chain. the Western sizzling in Spruce Pine bought back many memories of when I was a lot younger and Western sizzlings were everywhere. I found this Western sizzling to be the cleanest restaurant that I have seen in years. You could eat off of the floors. The bathroom was sparkling clean something that many restaurants neglect. Who ever the manager is of this Western Sizzling cares about what his customers see and cares about his job. I had the buffet this time.Boy was amazed at what was there. I had some of the best catfish in hush puppies that I have had in a long time and that includes in Memphis and down in Mississippi. The buffet had so many choices from vegetables to egg rolls to Pizza. I was just amazed. The staff was courteous and helpful and did everything possible to make sure that I had everything I needed. Why would I give this restaurant five stars and it a chain restaurant....Well simply because you could tell that everyone cared about their job, they cared about the customers, and they cared about the company they worked for. I will keep going back for sure.
NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY. am visiting the region and my parents who live here took me here for dinner. I have a shellfish allergy that I developed later in life. It is not life threatening but it will definitely ruin my day/night if I have a reaction. I went to the restroom while my parents ordered for us the hot buffet at the counter. As I left the bathroom and met back up with my parents I was approached by a female manager with short blonde hair (I did not catch her name) who informed me that all fried food was fried in the same oil as shellfish and she could not guarantee no cross contamination for any bar food because of guests sharing spoons. She said that besides fried food everything that comes out of the kitchen is shellfish free upon arrival. She offered to bring me a baked or sweet potato from the kitchen. I asked her if she could provide unused spoons from the kitchen that I could use to serve myself away from other food that was touched by the serving spoons. She said yes but again said that she cannot guarantee no cross contamination. I said that I understood. She got me 5 clean spoons. I got myself some salad (lettuce, tomatoes, beets, croutons, olive oil) with no reaction. I got myself a cheddar biscuit. No reaction. Then I got some sweet potato casserole. It was a new tray that was not scooped from yet at all. I used my spoon and took some from a corner where no one had touched yet. Upon first bite I started having a shellfish allergic reaction. I understand that I knew and I accepted the risk and I am not mad at this establishment in any way. I actually appreciate the manager being as upfront as she was. I am just writing this review for anyone who has an allergy that is life threatening that the hot bar is contaminated even just out of the kitchen. I would not trust this kitchen or restaurant. If you chose to take the risk please ensure you have an epipen and someone who knows how to use it is with you.
My beloved bride and i, took me here for my 61st birthday and she had the waitresses and waiters come and sing Happy Birthday to me and I tell you for the first time it startled me they really caught me off guard and the cake was so delicious my wife went to the bar to see if she could find one and they did not have it on the bar so that made it even more special to me because I was the only one that had that cake but I did share it with her. Great place to grab a bite with the family on your way or if you are coming from the mountains. The price for the buffet is super affordable and the service is great. Lots of option in the the salads, meats and desserts trays. It is located in shopping mall with lots of parking space so you won't have any problem finding a spot. I believe the food lacks a little savory tone I found it a little plain in flavor that's why my 4 starts. Everything else is good for a mid to low budget family lunch or even dinner. Enjoy your time at this restaurant.
