Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here if you're LGBT+. Got laughed out of the practice. Reported them to DHS, the state was fairly ticked off. Didn't help some sketchy dude came in, screamed at the receptionist cause he missed his appt then kept mean mugging everyone in the parking lot. This place is more like a forensic psych ward than a place to get help.
I sincerely have never been treated this poorly, and I've admittedly seen my share of mental health practitioners and been to my share of hospitals.
I am Not an Anti Social Personality Disorder, Let’s just continue on with medication yes? Good psychiatrist, the upfront women are just customer service, autism and bipolar., 3 stars for unethical questionarres that conflict with my diagnosing, now you could almost call it hazing and gas lighting , I have never jive’d with male psychiatrist, we’ll see how the other female does.
My father has to go here because of Dr. Somen coming here. She then disappeared and we got stuck with someone whi isn't for us. We stopped going there. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Everyone there is horrible including the receptionists.
It's just... terrible.
The doctors are great! The issue is GETTING to the doctors. For example:
I have monthly appointments because I am on medication for my ADHD and with it being a controlled substance, they want to see me in person to refill. I travel a lot for work and it's always a challenge to even be in town, but hey - I do what I can.
I had an appointment at 3:15pm a few days ago. I showed up and walked in the door at precisely 3:15pm. The reason I know that is that I have ADHD and I am NEVER exactly on time, so I was VERY proud of myself for being there.
When I arrived, the receptionist was on the phone and had two other patients filling out forms in front of me. I waved at her and sat down.
About 15 minutes later, I was told that I was "late" for my appointment and would have to be rescheduled. Well... No. I was right on time - your STAFF was late checking me in!
Hey, no big deal - I took a flight from Florida to make the appointment and... nope.
I just got a call from Marissa to tell me that they would be unable to fill my meds because I "missed" my appointment. Well... No... I was there, exactly on time - YOU missed my appointment.
When Tammy, her boss got on the phone, she tried to make excuses for their mistake - But also, were unable to fill my meds.
Forget about the terrible customer service - it's medically irresponsible. You have patients that DEPEND on their meds, and when YOU cause a lapse in treatment, it could be devastating to their care. You guys went to school for this, right?
Thank GOD my PCP is amazing and understanding and I never have to deal with the horrid staff at WPABHR ever again. I caution ANYONE who values consistent patient care to look elsewhere.
Not a big fan, I didn't really feel heard during my appointment today. It felt almost as rushed, and they just threw medicine together and called it a day.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Dr. Shahoud was the only doctor who seem to understand my issues before even I came to terms with it saying he didn't think I was starting to develop schitzophrenia but that it was trauma related. I think he had intended to keep a close watch on the matter to see if there was more evidence rather than commit to the theory. Coming back here later on with more knowledge to be able to voice my concerns, Dr. Alexander was finally able to refer me to actual nueropsychological testing. This has been the only mental health facility I've been to in this area where the doctors listen to you and really want to help.
I can’t say enough positive comments about the staff that I was fortunate and blessed to meet and work with starting with the warm and friendly Front Administrator at check in and to the help and guidance from Crystal and Cheyenne. They were always professional, down to earth, and empathic.
They have saved my life.
I heard the doctors were great but I never made it past the front desk staff. Angela was quite rude and the fact that they will laugh at someone in crisis says all I needed to know about their professionalism.
