Best WLM Reviews

This motel is a diamond in the rough and is going to be even better when they finish up their current renovations.||The new owner and staff at Western Inn are phenomenal! If you have any issue with your stay, they do everything in their power to fix it immediately. The room I stayed in was so clean! I felt at home and comfortable there. I NEVER typically feel comfortable walking barefoot in my hotel/motel room because the floors are often so dirty. This room was so clean that I felt fine in doing so and even played with my dog on the floor.||I had an electric fireplace in my room, which was a nice touch for cooler days. My AC worked great while I visited and was needed this time around. And even though my pillows looked a little dated, they were very clean. Actually, my entire bedding set smelled as though it had just been washed for me that day of arrival. ????||If you are interested in a friendly staff, a clean room, being still close to everything but away from the downtown scene....this is the place for you.||This is also a great option if you are traveling with a dog that has some issues getting up and down stairs. These rooms are all at ground level, so you go right out your door to let them potty in the grass nearby.||If you are interested in history and visiting Gettysburg for that reason, there is the 1800s McCurdy Schoolhouse across the street from the motel as well!||New management means this motel is going to be a place you will want to check out!
Please don't be put off by reviews of several years ago. This motel is under new management, and Mark, the owner, is doing everything to make it a pleasant, comfortable, reasonably priced, convenient place to stay. Many renovations are underway, with more to come. We are fans of smaller, Mom and Pop type roadside motels, the kind that are sadly disappearing. We were lucky to find this place, and had a great 3 night stay. Our room was refurbished, with new carpet, fresh paint, comfortable beds, and great hot water. A few small issues were addressed, and corrected immediately by Mark. He truly cares about his guests. We were traveling with our Greyhounds for an event, and the motel is very pet friendly. Being able to walk out our door and on to a large grassy area for the dogs was much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay, and would return to the Western Inn if we are in Gettysburg.
This place is absolutely horrible. Room smelled old, like it hadn’t been cleaned. Bathrooms were dirty. Also don’t expect them to fix things in your room, because they won’t. Our toilet rocked back and forth, was always running, and mold grew in it constantly (we cleaned it almost everyday, and by night time it would have BLACK MOLD in it)
The man who runs the place is nice, but don’t trust his wife with personal information because she will tell everyone there (other guests and staff members) Water was cold half of the time, power constantly went out, and wifi was down for over a month. Don’t trust the good reviews, they’re either fake or forced.
This place was awesome and the new managers Mark and his wife are the best people. I'm all over the country and definitely one of the best places I've been to yet. No matter what the old reviews said he has done an excellent job renovating the place. The rooms were very clean. I am a trucker and had to back from the road but he's also building a lot for truckers and a campsite in the back of the motel. This motel is nothing like the past reviews at all and The motel is currently in the process to be listed on Gettysburgs tourist spot. A tenant named James whose house across the street burned is an awesome guy who will take you on a free tour or ghost hunt. I'd just give him a tip which is not required. Everything is being remodeled and the price is great considering the rest around here. Also it's across the street from a very haunted school where they also take you on tours. It's in the battlefield area and I'm a well known ghost hunter and I got some amazing ghosts activity in room 15 and at James's place. It's peaceful and quiet and clean! And the people are great there. I will definitely be returning. AKA the ghost whisperer
The worst place to stay in Gettysburg!!!! Im posting photos later of how trashy this place looks. Trust me the rooms are no better. The outside of the rooms are good looking but inside is horrible. Hot water is iffy. You might have water to shower or you might have an ice bath... plus the management is kinda shady.... the one person staying their said they take payments from scaap that is federal funding for low income people.. if that aint fraud i don't know what is. SCCAP IS FOR HOUSING AND APATMENTS NOT MOTEL ROOMS THAT COST A UNGODLY PRICE!!!! Over $500 for a week with no internet cold water half the time and power outages from breaker's flipping. This place would not even be worth $500 a month let along over 500 a week
Might have been ok had it not been for the dude working on the rooms at midnight when people are trying to sleep. I understand working during the day but normal people like to sleep when the sun goes down. Not a bad place though overall.
This facility is not as it appears. We booked in good faith based on the Internet posting, however, when we arrived we could not handle it. Very pricey. The room was extremely dirty and the room smelled awful. The carpet was wet, it was cold so the alternative was a space heater. The owner offered another room which he said was an upgrade. It was just bigger but not better. Bathrooms were disgusting. The owner was very hostile when we questioned the condition of the room. He was a very nasty person and said he was in the business to make money. We have no problem supporting the small business owner because we are small business owners ourselves. This is the kind if experience that
gives us all a challenge. Booked at a hotel just down the road for almost 3/4 the price and includes a hot breakfast and a maticulous facility. Well, tonight we will sleep peacefully.
The manager was super helpful and very friendly the motel is disgusting! The bed had hair under the covers from previous visitors. The spare blanket had hair all over it. There was stuff spilled all over the walls. Stains on the curtains. Light switches without a face plate. Carpet hasn't been vacuumed anytime in the last week. An inch of dirt on the fan. A huge hole in the bathroom wall. Stains in the sink. Some type of powder in the fridge when we arrived. One tiny little trash can. No coffee pot. Sugar in the main office that was so old it was just a big hard clump. Mold all over the shower. Not worth the money at all.
