Best WLM Reviews

I was referred to Doctor Matthews in 2020 after a trip to the emergency room where they told me I was miscarrying. I had to go alone to the appointment and was scared and emotional. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. They took me back quickly and him and his staff were so kind and left such a good impression on me I felt like they really cared about me and my situation. Doctor Matthews has really great bed side manner. I moved not long after that and just recently moved back. During that time I had a baby and saw him for my 6 week appointment. Although I can say getting checked out by anyone is a particularly pleasant experience, he made me feel very comfortable and is vocal about exactly what he was doing. The front desk staff is also really great at communicating and made sure they accepted my insurance several times. I would recommend doctor Matthews to anyone who is looking for a great OBGYN
Dr. Mathews is wonderful! I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have been so well cared for! Everyone who works in the office is so nice and helpful. Anytime I've been worried they have addressed my concerns. I've been a patient for many years and very grateful for them!
This is the best obgyn office. They have wonderful doctors and all the office staff are right there to answer any question you may have. My oldest child is 14 and my youngest is 4years old and I’m 37weeks pregnant with my last child. I have had 4 out of my 7 children here. I lived in Grantsville so I didn’t want to travel an hour plus away but I can tell you it’s worth the drive. You have piece of mine coming here with any of there amazing obgyn I can promise you will not regret your choice to come here.
I have never had a doctor as exceptional as Dr. Tina Goldsmith. Although there was a recent scheduling error in the office that required my procedure to be rescheduled, Dr. Goldsmith’s professionalism and expertise stood out. Admittedly, I was frustrated by the situation and could have handled it better, but her outstanding care and dedication reminded me why I trust her with my health. She is one of the few doctors who has truly earned my confidence.
EDIT: I have since talked with the office and they were very sympathetic and understanding of my experience and waved my fee that I owed with them.
Original Review:
I had such a terrible experience at this doctor’s office.
I received a text asking for feedback after my visit on 8/28 and left feedback through their website. I haven’t heard from the clinic at all, so I’m posting this review publicly. I wanted to give them a chance to rectify the situation before I posted a review, and I think I’ve given them ample time.
I made the appointment with Dr Matthews because he had an available appointment within a week and I was experiencing pain in one of my ovaries.
When I arrived to the clinic, I was informed the internet was out. I did my paperwork and they had me sign a contract basically saying that I wouldn’t sue the practice. I thought that was weird. That should’ve been my first red flag. I had to wait a very long time in the waiting room. I understand that things can happen, but I had to wait for 45 minutes in the waiting room before I was taken back.
Then, when I immediately got into the hallway outside of the waiting room I was approached by Dr Matthews and a nurse asking if I wanted an ultrasound to check if I had cysts. I thought it was odd that they thought it was appropriate to talk about my medical conditions in the hallway very close to reception and other patients.
I was taken into the ultrasound room and sat for another 10 minutes before they finally got the internet situation figured out. The ultrasound tech was nice enough. That was fine.
After the ultrasound I got taken to an exam room where I met with Dr. Matthews. I brought up concerns that’s I’ve been having for a while including pain I’ve been having and my suspicions that I might have PCOS.
Basically, Dr. Matthews told me that I did not have PCOS and that all my symptoms I’ve been experiencing are something I’m just going to have to deal with. He suggested I take ibuprofen. Like I haven’t already done that. ????
When I brought up pain with intercourse Dr. Matthews looked visibly uncomfortable and told me to “change positions.” When I told him that hasn’t worked, he said, and I quote, “I’ve got nothing for you.”
I left my appointment feeling so furious and angry. Dr. Matthews completely disregarded all of my concerns.
What’s even more insane is I went to another primary care doctor for an annual check up and he took one look at me and said that I definitely have PCOS. I’m now on two medications to treat my issues.
I don’t understand what the point of being an OB is if you don’t care about women’s healthcare. And if you’re uncomfortable talking about sex. Sorry I made you feel awkward by bringing my concerns to you ????
If anyone is looking for an OBGYN DO NOT GO HERE. Go to anyone else.
Oh and I also asked if they offer pain management for IUD insertion and they don’t. It’s 2024 people. We should care more about women’s comfort during medical procedures.
I can't share all the details of how awful this office is in one small review.
They tried to bill me $1,000.00 for labs. I had to fix that and get it back down to the $99.00 they assured me it would be. Not to mention I had to do those labs twice because they said "there was an issue."
They saw another patient under my name/chart, did a procedure, and billed me for it. I had to fix that with my insurance, Intermountain lab, and report it to Intermountain to mark those notes, lab results, and visit as "in error" so they did not stay under my medical chart for the rest of my life and pose risks! The office manager of Western didn't help me at all! She was defensive and rude... as if this entire ordeal was MY fault?
Thankfully, I had worked in a medical office for several years before becoming a SAHM and knew the drill on how to protect myself and stand up for myself.
They messed up my appointment and made me wait in the office for almost 2 hours to be seen. Eddy's wait times were always bad, but I spoke up that day and that's when I found out they messed up the schedule.
That day, at the office, another patient shared my first name. Found that out after they called a "Christina" back and we both got up. After the mix up before, I told the MA to double check they had the correct patients for each room. She was so rude with me, and after I undressed didn't even give me a cover for my naked body. I was almost in tears--I used my clothes to cover myself as I sat waiting to be seen. Another MA, on her own, realized what happened and got me a covering and was so kind to my six year old (who was with me and managed to be so well-behaved and patient). Whoever that woman is, I wish you all the best in life. Thank you, for being kind and treating us like humans! You were the only good one at that office.
Eddy was basically MIA for my birth. I was pushed into a c-section by Wray. It went terribly and my aftercare was non-existent. They screwed up big time. So big the hospital dropped my bill and wrote me a letter saying I brought huge issues to their attention and they would fix them and train better. As if that should make me happy... I could've died! There's far too much to go into for this review. It was a horrific experience. It caused me to have extreme anxiety after giving birth. I thank God I am alive and can continue being a wife and mother to my beautiful family, but that was so scary to go through.
Eddy dismissed me as a patient 4 days after I gave birth. She knew she was wrong and was trying to cover her back.
I am here today because of my family and old coworkers/friends who are medical professionals and helped me through everything. All of my follow-up care was with them (not Western). Western refused... literally refused... to help me. I remember I had a slight cough and felt tightness in my lungs, a few days after the c-section. I called to ask if that was normal and Eddy refused to help me. She told me to ask my primary doctor, it wasn't her job to help me with a cough.
Turns out, that IS normal after having a c-section. I would've loved to know that from my OB instead of having to ask around and be worried something else was going on. How does she not know this? Or was she just treating me poorly out of anger? Probably the latter.
Afterall, she wasn't my doctor anymore. She only had to deal with me for 30 days, legally, until I found a new OB.
I still believe there are doctors and offices who care about patients and treat them like humans, but this office doesn't. Please, do not go here. You're gambling on your healthcare, if you do.
It took me over a year to write this review. Mentally I have gotten better and moved on from that experience, but sometimes what happened comes back to me and I know deep down I need to warn women about this place.
It's a beautiful office, but do not let that fool you. They're unprofessional, poorly managed, and do not treat people with true care!
Definitely recommend Dr. Wray for an OB! I had an okay OB with my first child and then I switched to Dr. Wray for my second child and he is the best OB I’ve ever seen! He is amazing and really cares about me as a patient.
However, I’m not impressed when coming in to check in for my appointment. I come in either early or on time and still have to wait for almost 30 minutes or more just to get call in by a nurse. Whereas other patients came in to check in after me got in before I do.
Honestly, Dr David Matthews is the worst OBGYN I have ever been to and I've been to a TON as I've been going through health issues pertaining to my uterus for years now. I moved to utah last year and needed help again as I've been in so much pain. DR Matthew's is the one that could see me the soonest... he was TWO HOURS later to my appointment and after waiting all that time he invalidated EVERYTHING I said about MY OWN body. He ordered an ultrasound and didn't get back to me for TWO weeks after I already knew my results but yet again when he called, he invalidated every single word I said, down to correcting the way I said them. There is absolutely NO reason this man should be in women's health let alone be a doctor. He is rude and does not show any care about the way you feel. He literally told me "the pain is just something WE are going to have to learn to deal with".... uhm sir, last time I checked.. 1. You are not a woman and 2. You do not live in my body so who are you to tell me to "deal with" my pain?! I would NOT recommend this doctor to any woman that actually wants to be listened to and acknowledged!! I in-fact will not be returning to him EVER. funny that they asked for a review, wasn't going to leave one but since they asked... here you go.
