Best WLM Reviews

Did a search for a Charcoal restaurant and found this hidden gem! Originally planned on a burger but decided on a small ribeye. Then saw an Open faced Roast Beef so I ordered both just to try it! Wife had a seafood platter, and we split the burger to try it! All this food for us to sample and ALL were very good both then and the next day!
Very, very good! Had the fish and calabash shrimp special and it was amazing! Was with a group of 9 people and the service was exceptional. Our waitress was very attentive.
Everything was good; the steak, salads, seafood, hush puppies, baked sweet potato, fries, etc.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Great welcoming atmosphere and affordable!
My first time at the place I ordered the barbecue all white chicken with cream potatoes and steamed cabbage to stay. also ordered the same exact items for my wife to take home that i ate for lunch. went home my wife ate the food that I brought her home 2 hours later I was vomiting and on the bowl an hour and a half later. 2 hours later my wife was doing the same exact thing we both got food poisoned don't know if it was the cream potatoes or steamed cabbage might have even been the chicken nonetheless we both ate the same exact meal and got sick hours apart.. sorry to say that was the first time and definitely the last time that I will go there. I will say though the young lady server with the Christmas antlers on her head was very nice.. The Establishment seemed clean so something went wrong in that kitchen
Ordered king ribeye. It was ok. A lot of fat. Not bad but not great. Side salad was good. Bake potato was great.
Well I drove by this place for years and a few months ago, I decided to stop and give it a try. I love this place! I have probably been at least a dozen times now. I haven't had a bad meal. I have had most of the steaks on the menu as well as the calabash seafood. The onion rings are the best I have had anywhere. They are hand breaded in the calabash breading.
My go to meal is the K. C. Steak, Greek salad, and onion rings.
Aug 2023 Edit- Still awesome, I changed up my order to the steak tips. ????
Jan 2024- still good!
We pass by this place often and, after being curious enough to overlook the outside aesthetics, decided to go check reviews. So many reviews gave this place high ratings and talked of wonderfully nice service and good food with a smaller price range. Okay! That sounds decent so, we went in. We immediately noticed a rough interior but were greeted by the nicest staff. The hostesses were so kind, the waitress was nice without being overbearing. We decided to stay and order. I got the chicken sandwich with cheese, coleslaw, and fries. My husband got the chuckwagon steak with fried okra and fries. While waiting for our food, we were brought out the most delicious hush puppies. They were light and airy and seemed to almost melt in your mouth with deliciousness. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal and even a little of mine. I have to say that I am glad we went ahead and ventured in because my meal was delicious. The only complaint I'd have was that, although very tasty with a nice charcoal flavor, the chicken on my sandwich was a bit tough and only slightly overcooked. I'd suggest to anyone to overlook the failing decor and go in to have a yummy meal with a great staff and at a very affordable price range. It's one of the better diamonds in the rough that we have found.
An impressive steak served on a sizzling hot platter as it is calibrating to your desired temperature. For a minute, I was fooled thinking someone behind me had ordered fajitas? Scarlet my server, politely landed my delicious and huge T-bone steak perfectly in front of me. Her service was above and beyond! There is nothing silent about the hush puppies, ???? uniquely made delicious nice and hot crispy hand made with sweet corn meal. This dive definitely goes back sixty years as the bright old school neon sign on it’s roof top, illuminates the invitation to come right in! The Golden hour settles nicely in your dusk’s hunger for sure.
The filet mignon was superb! Even down to the baked sweet potato was perfect. We are highly impressed and will be back!
