I had excellent care at Westchester medical today. I had to get my teeth extracted and I had a couple cavities said they told me to go to my personal physician for which I will do excellent care. The only downside was I went to the lot parking where I had to pay $7 seven bucks. It's not going to hurt anybody but still I didn't need to pay $7 for parking but next time I'll park somewhere else. But other than that great care. Thank you for all that you do at Westchester medical Doctors, staffers and others
Got treated fast at the ER and transferred to the ICU by the neurology team. They were AMAZING. I never had such attentive, respectful, professional, and kind doctors and nurses. They kept everything transparent and informed constantly. Even the people who bring the food were great.
I owe them my life, but also, really, my personal dignity.
Not wanting to see them again in the hospital, right? But if you need their care, you do want the WMC team
I got my wisdom teeth out today at the dental clinic at this hospital. My original appointment was supposed to be December 5th, but due to a mix up, it had to be rescheduled to today, December 19th. It was a bummer to have to rearrange my whole schedule, but things happen. It’s a busy clinic, so I’m sure mix ups can happen and delays. I’m just grateful this place exists! My surgery went well under IV sedation. The assistant, I think her name was Stephany, was great! She was very kind and thorough with the prep. I forgot the surgeon’s name, but he was incredible. He explained everything thoroughly, talked about what he was doing as he was doing it, and what it was for. After he gave me the sedation, I don’t remember anything. I woke up with gauze in my mouth, a kind nurse to discharge me, and I woke up with no pain or grogginess. I walked out fine and best experience I could’ve had! Now on to recovery! Only experiencing a slight dull ache hours after the procedure! My medication was also ready at my pharmacy by the end of the day, which was great! Appreciate the kind staff who deals with the craziness of the dental clinic, they’re dealing with a lot!
I was here for a kidney transplant evaluation. The social worker (who normally works at the liver transplant) was very judgemental when telling her my history. In an attempt to explain certain details she was quick to say she wasn’t judging but then didn’t allow me to explain. I explained anyway and just for a “uh-huh” response. I don’t think she was even really listening. At the bare minimum, she gave the impression that this whole interview was very inconvenient for her.
The doctors who quite honestly seemed less than caring and all they did was keep repeating that I needed to get all of the screening done. Telling me once or twice was sufficient. I’m not a moron. I was also sent for lab work. They took 21 vials of blood. I was told I would be sent the results. The results never came but do you know what DID come? A bill for over $2,000 for lab work. I asked multiple times for my results and they never came. There was no problem in sending me the bill by certified mail, but they couldn’t manage to email me my results. I was also led to believe the evaluation would be covered 100% by my insurance. So the bill for over $2,000 came as a huge shock. No patient should be shocked about a bill.
With all the other bad reviews taken into account, I am very seriously reconsidering having my transplant at this hospital. If they can’t manage a simple thing like emailing test results, how am I to trust them with my life?!
I had surgery on 11/1/24 and had to stay overnight after having a nerve block stimulator put in my lower back! Although I had to drive 3 hours one way to the Medical Center I will say Dr. Sukul and his staff were amazing!! He was able to get me in for surgery in 3 weeks!! Unfortunately I do have to drive back in 2 weeks to get my stitches removed, but that is ok! The nurses were awesome during my overnight stay! The Dr’s staff did visit the next morning and were very accommodating in getting my paperwork filled out and faxed back to my employer right then and there. I have already recommended Dr. Sukul to friends of mine regarding a nerve block stimulator. Thank you for all you did for me and my family and hopefully will stay almost pain free for years to come!!!
They took good care of my grandma when she had to have surgery, however before the surgery they kept moving her surgery date around and couldn’t confidently tell us a date & 2 days they completely messed up her meal for lunch, how do you mess that up?.. overall mediocre experience before the surgery, after the surgery everything else was good. And another downside is when leaving the parking lot you had to pay to leave which is highly disappointing because your already in enough stress that you or family member is in a medical crisis and they want you to pay to get out! Absolutely ridiculous, and on 3 different occasions the meter to pay to get out was broken and we had to keep trying to get it to accept the payment which took a good 10 minutes, and once it didn’t even take and we had to find someone to fix it so that we could pay and go.
I was truly shocked about how bad my experience at a hospital could be. I will have mental and emotional trauma from this experience & I’m truly afraid to go to a hospital again.
I came into the hospital with a broken femur. I was constantly being thrown around between beds and machines. I had to do things multiple times despite how painful it was, which I understand that the doctors need that information, but I was almost immediately denied anymore pain medication. I had “maxed out” after having gotten one dose of fentanyl in the ambulance & another dose of something else when I got in the hospital. Considering I was in the ER for seven hours with a broken femur before moving to a hospital bed, I’d say I should have been better treated for my pain ESPECIALLY as they were moving it around for X-rays and such.
Once admitted to the hospital, there was nearly 0 communication. I ended up being there longer than they thought, so my pain medication expired and they had to wait until the next day for the doctor to approve the medication. When I say this, they woke me up at 3am to tell me that I was out of my TYLENOL prescription. All they could give me was melatonin so I could hopefully sleep through the pain.
Otherwise, I had a few good nurses (Abby is the best) and the rest rarely checked on me, or would take hours to get me anything I needed. I complained about nausea and they just told me I needed to eat until I threw up all over myself. I would hit the nurse call button and if they couldn’t hear me in the intercom they would turn in off and never come to check on me.
The lack of communication was the most frustrating part to me. I had nurses and people checking my vitals tossing things on my legs, when I had just had a femur surgery. Why weren’t they informed on my condition? Why did I only see a doctor for 1 minute in the morning at 6:30? Why did my husband have to track down the people to get them to fill out my discharge paperwork?
I’m truly in shock. I was supposed to go to an in-patient PT, but I couldn’t stand being at the hospital any longer so I did as best I could to get sent home instead because I couldn’t be there for another weekend.
I didn’t have a choice on what hospital to go to because this is where the ambulance took me. But if you do have a choice, please go somewhere else.
This facility should not be called a hospital; it feels more like a cattle farm! I spent 12 hours lying in a dirty bed. My experience here was absolutely unacceptable. I will never return to this place, nor will I recommend it to anyone else.
