IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD! I went to West Texas Eye Associates for cataract evaluation. My initial examination was with Dr. Gifka who not only confirmed that my cataracts were ready to come out but also diagnosed me with moderate to severe glaucoma and referred me to Dr. Faith for surgery. I was shocked because for years I’ve been seeing another ophthalmologist and he never indicated I had glaucoma. I mentioned this to Dr. Grifka and he asked me if they had ever performed any of the exams his office had performed and that was a hard “NO!” I met with Dr. Faith to discuss surgery and he patiently explained my risk factors and the challenges facing my surgery. In 1983 I had a procedure called radial keratotomy which means that I have 18 incisions in my left cornea. If that wasn’t bad enough, I have floppy iris and my pupils don’t dilate and are very small because of a medication I’ve been taking for several years, and the icing on the cake is that I suffer from a condition called Keratoconus. I honestly half expected Dr. Faith to turn me away because of all the challenges and risks but he didn’t turn me away. I had my first surgery on 10/29/2024 and I’m feeling very positive about the surgery. I am so happy that I found WTEA and I trust the doctors. Dr. Faith is a very patient and highly skilled surgeon who takes time to explain everything completely. The best part of WTEA is that the entire office runs like a well-oiled machine. Every employee does their part and the next employee picks up where the previous left off and you move through their process very efficiently. Their surgical coordinator is Christy and she’s dynamic. She’s taking care of setting up appointments, while answering calls, while dealing with incoming questions from other staff or patients and she does all this with a positive attitude and a smile. She is a great employee as they ALL are. I had an awesome experience and I look forward to many years of getting my eyes examined at WTEA.
I have been taking my boys here for a few years and the staff is always so welcoming. Dr Anderson is very professional and attentive. I absolutely love my experiences here!!
Very happy with the way I've been treated. The personnel are nice and helpful. I had strabismus surgery performed by Dr Vazquez and could not be happier with the results! I developed that condition about six years ago and worsened with time. I knew the only solution was surgery and was terrified of it, but I was in very good hands, the personnel were very kind, things went smoothly and, like I said, the results are excellent! I highly recommend West Texas Eye Associates of El Paso and Dr Vazquez.
Doctors and staff give very professional help. Wait time is what you expect, just all the way around a great place to be treated for your vision care.
0n 12/17/24 my wife was to be seen by Dr. Crawford, they changed Doctor on us. She were unfortunate to get Dr. Vasquez. The one doctor of all that are there they I would call unprofessional. My wife is also seen in Albuquerque, NM at A Retina Center. They give you a complete examination and the things Dr. Vasquez claimed my wife had, was total B.S.
I asked him for drops that my wife is provide with by the other associates and was told by Dr. Vasquez that he was saving him for his patients. What did he think my wife was? If not his patient for a day. He has no business with West Texas Eye Associates. He should learn from his fellow colleagues.
I really like this place the staff is very friendly and my Dr.,Dr. GRIFKA is an excellent Dr. he takes his time takes his time and explains any adjusting that he is making he's very patient and also he'll ask if I'm OK with the changing that he's doing sometimes we have to wait but I really don't mind because I know he'll be giving me the same attention as patience before me he's worth the wait.

I went to Dr. Vasquez after being referred by my local Ophthalmologist. One of my eyes had become crossed as a result of a disease process and needed to have corrective surgery. Dr. Vasquez is one of the few physicians in the Southwest capable of doing this eye muscle surgery and in fact it is his specialty.
After reviewing medical notes and doing his own exams he said I was a candidate for his surgery. He repeated an MRI brain scan to insure the absence of tumors or other problems. He ran several more tests (some physical eye tests and others blood tests) and reviewed a required medical exam, ECG, etc. He scheduled the surgery for a few weeks out. The surgery was performed on an outpatient basis and we went back in the next morning for a post op.
I had immediate results with one surgery and could see out of both eyes. When I used my eyes they were partly working together but I had slight double vision when I looked to one side. After letting my eyes mend for a few weeks, he gave me glasses which were able to incorporate a prism in order to keep my eyes focused together.
This physician has boards in several specialties and is extremely capable and well trained. His skills enabled me to continue living, reading extensively and finally enabled me to drive again. He was easy to talk to, very compassionate and literally knew what I could see through my eyes as good or better than I did. His frankness and honesty about my condition and what I could realistically expect to achieve with his surgery was appreciated and needed.
I would highly and unequivocally recommend this guy without any reservations.
