Best WLM Reviews
I’ve been here twice and this place never lets me down. I love sitting in their garden while eating. I got the gazpacho, crispy potato salad, blueberry cornmeal pancakes, the veggie and regular hashes, and tried other dishes my friends got. So, having tasted almost everything on their menu- I can honestly say this goes above and beyond a regular diner and is super delicious! 10/10 would recommend!
We stopped here for breakfast on our way from Vermont to Pittsburgh . Very cute and quirky roadside diner. The food was pretty good. I had the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was topped with radish greens, which taste a lot like turnip greens. The sandwich was good, but the greens overpowered the other flavors. I think the cheese was mozzarella which didn’t stand a chance up against those greens. My husband had the smoked hash breakfast, which our server recommended. It was good, but super salty. Not a typical hash with lots of tiny potatoes, but large home fries to cut the meat. They also serve booze which we didn’t have. He also ordered a single corn meal pancake which was fabulous! We took an apple muffin and chocolate chip cookie to go. The apple muffin was delicious! Very moist. The cookie was pretty good. Topped with some kids of salt.
I was surprised how good my Reuben Sandwich was. The place looks like a diner but the food is more like fine dining. All of our choices in sandwiches, fries and pizza was top notch. We also liked there us a large outside dining area that us so important now with Covid.
Best food in the area. Prices are very fair and service was great. We particularly loved the pastrami Reuben and cornmeal pancakes. Cool selection of pastries as well. Currently only doing takeout or dine in your car, but they made the experience cute.
Enjoyed my pastrami Rueben. Staff were cute and super friendly. High energy. Wish the menu was a little more comprehensive. Prices also a little high. That said, the pastrami Ruben was highly enjoyable.
The diner has a really great outdoor dining setup - order at the front door, pick up drinks around the side of the building, and then make your way to the massive garden for super spaced seating. The buzzer for picking up your food is even wrapped in cling film for better cleaning between customers! The portions were good (turkey club could easily feed two) and very tasty. Highly recommend the hush puppies! I definitely want to return in the future to dine inside when things are safe.
Stopped here on our way home. It’s just off the Taconic. Best “diner” we’ve ever been to. We shared the Greek salad (comes in 2 sizes), clam chowder (2 sizes also), the Reuben sandwich and a scoop of Jane’s vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, burnt honey caramel and sprinkles. We loved every bite of all we had! We ordered the salad as our side with the sandwich. The greens and tangy lemony dressing were tasty. Although the clam chowder did not have a ton of clams, we prefer quality to quantity and the soup was flavorful and delicious. As for the Reuben, we ordered it on sourdough and got the sauce on the side. It was incredible! Since it was close to closing time on Sunday and they are closed early in the week, we missed out on the homemade baked goods. We will be back! Our entire feast before tip was just under $40. Very affordable for the quality of ingredients and the skill of the kitchen.
Retro Diner right off the Taconic Parkway. Menu is farm to table. Lots of local and house made items.
Outdoor dining was available, although we sat inside on a rainy Sunday morning. We arrived when they opened and the place was half full an hour in. Could see a wait depending on the day.
10/10 would dine again.
