Best WLM Reviews

My first time staying here & at first was kind of a culture shock but I learned to truly enjoy the experience. Next to Central Park, YMCA westside is A beautiful 1928 Architectural icon Hostel hotel; Loved the location, love the pricing, Worked around the bathroom situation.
The pool area & locker room was a definite bonus and the workout room was appreciated At no additional cost.
Do bring your own personal appliances as there are none on site. But sooo many places to see and eat at within walking distance. Would absolutely do.it again.
Great location, mins walk to Central Park, Columbus circle and Subway station. 15mins walk to Times Square and every other attractions nearby. 20mins walk to the MET and AMNH.
If you expect this is a star rank hotel, it will fail to reach ur expectations, however if you think this is a university dormitory, the facilities will fit the requirement. This an affordable, comfortable and safety property not only in West side but entire Manhattan!
The property have around ten private bathrooms at the floor of semi-private bathroom room, and you can easy access to the view of Central Park from the windows, it also comes with bottle filling machine which can save ur bottle.
An ideal haven for the solo traveler mindful of their budget. While some reviews might describe the rooms as simplistic and lacking in flair, let's consider the essence of a New York City visit. It's not about the room, but the city's vibrant pulse waiting to be explored. It offers just what you need—a comfortable place to rest and refresh after each day's adventures.
Conveniently located near Central Park, Columbus Circle, and with a subway station merely a stone's throw away, navigating the city couldn't be easier. Times Square, a mere 15-minute stroll, adds to the allure of the locale.
Check-in is a breeze, ensuring your precious time is spent experiencing the city, not waiting in queues. Opting for a double room with a private bath ensures utmost privacy and convenience, with no need to share facilities.
As someone who has returned for a third stay, I can confidently say there will indeed be a fourth. This place continues to exceed expectations.
Location is safe with a front security counter that checks each person that enters, built in room safe and also air con and heating if needed.
Room on the 8th floor, 1 bunk bed.
1 shared bathroom and showers for the whole floor and really low quality.
All need an urgent update as:
- a lot of well used equipment,
- squicky beds,
- dirty walls,
- rust all over
- noise from outside all night
- tv bracket so loose that if moved it would come off.
- remote only worked with certain buttons
- no kitchen facilities whatsoever, even a kettle or a fridge
Very disappointed in comparison with their online offer.
If there is no expectation, you can stay there.
We had a good experience here, although the room was basic, the amenities where great! A lot of shared bathrooms in the hallway which was convenient because we could get ready at the same time. Staff was friendly and helpful. GREAT location!
My husband and I had been looking for cheap lodging in the City and found this hostel/hotel at the YMCA. The beds were very comfortable! The front desk associate must have thought we were a straight couple because she gave us bunk beds. That's okay, we were able to fit on one bunk.
We didn't get a chance to use the facilities because of our late arrival and late wake up time. However, we would have loved to. Booking a room here grants you access to the fitness center, pool and more! I think it's a great deal- and the rate was super affordable. Highly recommend.
Excellent location. The bathroom cleanliness was impeccable; every time I used it, someone was always there cleaning. The single room was very comfortable. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Staying at the West Side YMCA requires looking at it through the 'glass half full' perspective. While the rooms may not be furnished to luxury standards, with small windows and a student-dorm vibe, there’s so much to appreciate if you focus on the positives. The view from the small windows is surprisingly charming, and the room is equipped with a smart TV, a warm and cozy atmosphere, and ample storage space, including a safe for valuables. The mattress was wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The best part is the access to fantastic facilities like the fitness center, sauna, pool, and steam room – a real bonus for the budget-friendly price. The location is unbeatable, especially during big events like the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade or for exploring Central Park and other nearby attractions. I truly enjoyed my stay and found it to be a great value in the heart of NYC!
