Best WLM Reviews
Best dentistry I’ve encountered in my 49 years, very thorough and polite! I had Joleen clean my teeth and she just did an amazing job and talked me through it. She’s awesome! As for the rest of the staff they’re great at their job I recommend this place to anyone that wants the job done!!! I’ve never felt so comfortable and satisfied!!!
Nice place! Dentist was nice and so was the dental hygienist!! The receptionist was super rude tho. Had my 3 year old in the bathroom and when we came out she was very rudely telling us to pretty much hurry they were behind but didn’t tell me where I was going and the attitude just wasn’t necessary. She obviously isn’t a people person and should probably find another job.
I have needed a lot of work for awhile. So I called West Shore the second time as I had to cancel the first time due to surgery. The Nice receptionist told me I could get in the next morning.. (wow) That has never happened before. I was thinking I had to have 7 teeth pulled since that is what another dentist told me just about 1 and a half years ago. Well at first they weren't going to pull any but one had gone to the nerve so it had to be pulled. They looked and had an opening the Very next morning so I took it. That was the easiest tooth I ever had pulled No pain or discomfort and I am healing nicely. Soon some fillings and then some nice new teeth. I have great confidence in these folks since they have been so up front and honest with me. That goes a long way...
I've been a patient here for over 15 years now. Since I was an actual child. I didn't start to have many issues until I ended up needing crowns on ALL of my lower molars. Two of those teeth are root canaled, two are not. More than once now, the crowns have come off! These are supposed to be permanent and have been on less than five years. The last time it happened, they accused me of trying to cement the crown back on and that's why it wasn't staying on my tooth. The "cement" on the tooth was the original stuff they used to place the crown which clearly wasn't what they're supposed to use, considering they used UV hardener on the crown when it was placed back on. Whatever, I could look past it if it was the first time. But it wasn't and I'm sure it will happen again.
In regards to the crowns, having to get them replaced or redone has completely ruined any orthodontic work I had done when I was younger. My teeth are now crowded again and crooked. I don't have $500 to replace my retainers any time dental work I have done is jank or I have to wait weeks to have it redone.
I consistently have pain around the teeth that have crowns and have been told that there's "nothing" they will do about it since they're already root canaled.
I really used to not have issues here, but it feels like things aren't getting better. Dr. Thomas doesn't listen to my concerns. He just checks my mouth or the work the assistant has done and leaves the room. My family members see Dr. Yelk or Dr. Cho and have way better experiences. The hygienists and assistants have always been personable and understanding.
These people at this office used to be great when I was there as a child but since I've gotten older they had treated me like crap since I've been back with them and then assumed that I miss all these appointments and when reality it wasn't me that was scheduled all these appointments so I don't know how they assumed I missed three appointments and then call in when that wasn't even the case. Since I've been adult I've only seen them once. So the miscommunication is definitely wrong. I get attitude every time I call and I don't appreciate that in the very unprofessional and they don't take their time on doing what they need to do. They definitely went downhill from when I was a child until now. You guys need to do better and need respect your people that come in there.
Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before going here and I found out today that it is not worth it. I just moved to PA about three months ago and so I was trying to find a dentist that I could regularly go to and be happy with. We'll today I had x rays done and was told I had one small cavity. They asked if I would like to fill it today so I said why not. They proceed to numb me which didn't do anything. I flinched hard and was even saying ow as the dentist was drilling the tooth but he didn't even stop. Now it's an hour after my appointment and NOW I'm numb. Literally had me almost in tears for how much that hurt. Never in my life have I had that happen. The people are nice but they also don't talk to the patient. Instead they talk to each other so you barely even know what's going on. DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems that dental offices would see a wide variety of personalities, and make whatever accommodations. Some actually do, but not West Short Family Dentistry. I’d have to rate this place in the negatives.
It's amazing how many really bad ratings this dental practice has, and my experience with them had been good - until last month, when they called me to cancel a cleaning "because the hygienist would be out that day." And they would call me to make another appointment later. Which was, of course, a lie. And which initially did seem like a lie. But I wanted to trust them. After receiving no calls, I called them, and they said they wouldn't service me any more because they said I "touched" one of their hygienists. On her smock. Which seems silly. 2 years earlier. I bet the people who own this place have no idea that their minions are cancelling patients for such nonsensical reasons. And who should be fired!
SO SILLY - even if it were true - that it makes me wonder about where we're going as a society.
Of course I never “touched” any of their hygienists, or other employees, in any way. And I had been there a few times since the alleged “touching.” Not letting the matter rest - with that lie now part of my medical record - I called them again, this time getting a different story, with the receptionist (or some other lackey) saying I had "touched" the name tag of a hygienist while saying "she's not Sheila" (or whoever it was I was scheduled to see). And that they will therefore not provide me any more dental services. No siree bobby! They didn't even suggest that it was sexual, or threatening. There were none of the usual "-isms" thrown about. So you know it was something REAL SILLY! Even if it was true. But it was not true. Even if true, not something that would get you dismissed as a long-standing patient. Unless of course it turns out the entire staff is neurotic, and West Shore Family Dentistry is a "Neurotic Company" with nothing but a bunch of ninnies running around. So like another commenter posted, this place needs to be shut down.
Unfortunately after much time going to this dentist the administration has really tanked and we’ll be trying somewhere new. Already 3 cancelled appointments this year due to their staffing issues. From what I hear it’s not a great work environment. Bummed.
