Best WLM Reviews

I rarely visit the doctor, I'm more than capable of taking cold/flu medicine on my own. However this cough/chest congestion returned and I needed antibiotics like I had been prescribed prior from another clinic.
Angela Maldonado greeted me with a very rude and unprofessional attitude, and she lacked major empathy. She basically explained that I didn't seem sick long enough to her. I explained I didn't want a strep or covid test for a simple cough and chest congestion, that's a waste of everyone's time. I cannot miss work. She explained my sickness will just run its course, and I need to take over the counter medicine but she'd give me antibiotics ONLY IF I DEMANDED IT.
I don't want to return to this clinic, they don't seem to care about their patients. I'll find a better clinic that treats their patients better.
This is the worse place if you need something urgent. I have called to get an urgent call for medical and dental on different occasions. When I call they tell me we have available tomorrow at x&y time, so for me to call as soon as they open. Every time I do that is all taken even though I’m on hold before they open and they say there’s no openings. Besides that they are below par at most when it comes to regular check ups etc. they spent so much money on recent remodeling that they should have spent it on compassion and care training for their patients. I know it sounds like I’m just bitter because I couldn’t get an appointment, I desperately need. But if I call the day before and you have an opening for next day why can’t you just schedule it? It’s not fun to depend on an inconsistent location while I’m in pain. No wonder this place has a LOW rating. Oh and when I called in the morning and told the receptionist I was told to call and I’m in pain. Her answer was the slots are either taken or the doctor didn’t show up. No help in finding a solution. It was more of well it’s not her problem. That’s the issue find a place that cares about your health not just taking a call. Your just a number not a name
I have always felt valued and well cared for at this clinic. Dr McDowell is phenomenal. I highly recommend this facility. I appreciate you can get an appointment and labs done in the same building. So glad I found them!
Not that they need more bad reviews but this is specifically for those looking for female advocates in the medical profession.
Sandy Fulkerson-Schaeffer, PA-c gave me a false understanding of how painful an IUD implant would be and only provided ibuprofen for the procedure. I wasn't aware I should ask for more and she didn't offer it.
Dr. Neimuth saw me for extreme leg pain and concerns about clotting. The appointment couldn't have been longer than 5 minutes. She dismissed me with no solution. I did explain to her that I had recently lost 50 pounds through exercise. The urgent care provider realized I needed electrolytes right away. Problem solved. That's a pretty bad doctor who can't figure that out and would rather dismiss you than try.
To get blood work, I signed up on the sign up sheet and the phlebotomist called in every male that signed up after me but never me until a kind gentleman noticed I had been there longer than anyone else.
It feels like a cattle farm in there. They are just going to get you out the door as fast as possible without bothering to try. We aren't even human to them. I'd like to say I've had better luck elsewhere but...
I had the worst experience today at West Salem Clinic to the pint that I was in tears and cried in my car for 5 min. On Sunday I went to urgent care by the Salem Hospital and they said I had bronchitis and laryngitis and the gave me prednisone and a Z pack. Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and today it was like I was swallowing golf balls. I work in Hospice and can't be giving this to my coworkers and them take it to their patients.
I called West Salem Clinc on got in to see my new PCP, Brandon Edwards. This man has the WORST bedside manner and was so rude. He said I looked fine and because I didn't have a fever I was good to go back to work. He also said I'm not giving the antibiotics enough time to kick in. I explained to him I work in Hospice and can't go back like this. He said I was fine. He said I will write you a note for today, what do you want it to say?
I have no PTO left and have nothing to gain by staying off work. I love my job and my coworkers very much. I have bills to pay and need my pay check so, it's not like I'm faking to get out of work. That is exactly how he made me feel. He completely dismissed my complaints of feeling awful. My blood pressure was 154/90. That right there is enough for him to see how bad I am feeling!! They even took it twice to see if it would go down. It didn't. Like I told him, I really am sick!!!
After I was done with him I went to the front desk and asked to make a complaint and that I wanted to switch PCP's. The lady at the front asked me if I'd like to talk to a supervisor so I said I would. I waited 10 min and a different receptionist came and told me they were all in a meeting and that it would be another 5 min or so. They were not in a meeting, insane they were talking to Brandon Edward about why I would be making a complaint.
A lady by the name of Sylivia N. Came out and took me to her office. I started crying and explained everything to her. Before I even started explaining she said "so you wanted a note off work right"? How would she even know if she hadn't already talked to him? I told her I have one for today and explained the rest and told her how I felt. She said I couldn't switch PCP's because I hadn't seen Brandon Edwards enough times to switch!! What???
This is MY health care and I should decide who I see!! He made me feel so bad and she made me feel a million times worse!!! She dismissed me just like he did and wouldn't even take my complaint seriously. I told her that was BS and that I will be looking for a new clinic. My next stop is my lawyer. I know I was discriminated against because I was not in nice clothes and because I am on OHP. You as a medical professional should always reat your patients with respect. Also, if I want to change PCP's, I should be allowed to!!
Shame on you West Salem Clinic for what you have put me through and for not treating me with respect and not listening to me. Shame on you for thinking I just want off work!! My job is half of my life. I need that Jon but I also need to not be sick.
Please follow the law and pass on medical records when they are requested appropriately. I am going to make noise and advocate for this, it is a recognized issue that needs resolution for current and future patients. This issue is important because successful health is not able/promoted when the continuity of care cannot happen with this clinic holding medical records/documents that are requested from you. Maybe you are short staffed, maybe you should hire more staff, or allow opportunities for internships so your legal obligations are not ignored. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I really love my doctor Dr Taylor, but I had to see Brandon Edwards instead of her once and he didn't listen to me one single bit. He just told me what I was feeling and assumed I wanted muscle relaxers when all I wanted was an x-ray because I have radiating nerve pain clear down the middle of my back from my neck and clear down to my feet from my lower back and he claims that I had a neck strain. I will never see this provider and I want to warn everybody else about Brandon Edwards.
I called and asked if they were accepting new patients, they told me they were so I updated my primary care with insurance. Ask to fill out new patient intake forms. "You have to come in". I have chronic pain and no car could you fax or email it to me? "No you have to come in to fill out the paperwork".
So I come in and ask for the paperwork.
"We're not accepting new patients right now"
What a joke.
