Best WLM Reviews

I am so sad so frigging sad to write this
Baltimore City ALREADY don't have enough Trinidadian (or Guyanese cause let's be real I'd go there too) spots to patronize. This was the ONE I would go to. 7 years ago I moved up here from DC happy to have a spot I could go to with comparable roti and doubles (no need to drive to NYC with a cooler? I'm sold!). I don't think I will be coming here again. This is the 2nd time of utter disappointment.
I called at 11:18 on a Friday morning to put in an order for pickup. I first asked about doubles. Oh doubles won't be ready for another hour.....OH...OKAY. Well let me put in an order for roti. Oh we aren't really open right now. Call back in an hour......
What?
Today now it is Monday Christmas Eve Eve. Granted Mondays and Tuesdays they are closed but there was no insight to adjust your hours for the holiday so you could make SOME money this week?
Basic proper business practices + customer service will go a long way if you care to be in business for years to come. Something has to give!
Lemme go drive down to DC to get my doubles and phlourie
Well after reading the reviews on here, I just decided to go on my own and see for myself. I am happy to say that the food is delicious!!! And I had no issues like people were having on this review section. The cashier was pleasant and I didn't wait long for my food at all. I am temporarily in this side of town, but since I had a wonderful experience I will be making the trip back often. I LOVE MY TRINI FOOD!!!!
It was my first time this year buying food from West Indian flavor II. I got curried beef roti for 4 people. We ate around 6pm. The curried beef didn’t have much flavor but what was bad was we all were woken up with stomach pain and diarrhea that kept me up all night. It was bad. I called the restaurant to let them know and was told to come in again so they can make it up to me. Not sure I’d want to do that. No offer was made to reimburse me for the $71.82 I spent.
October 2024 - First off, this was the only Trini spot that I'd patronize. I'm now on the hunt for other Trinidadian options in Baltimore City/Baltimore. I rarely ever think about coming here because of the quality of their food and portion sizes. I only came today for Doubles, which they rarely have available. I don't eat any meats from here at all. After my Doubles disappointment, I stared at their menu in frustration because nothing is good here any more. I ended up ordering a Curry MINI SIZED Shrimp Buss Up. It was served in a tiny container with baby shrimp. It wasn't even filled to the fill line. The Buss Up was good, of course. The curry mini shrimp gravy was oily. I actually had to make more shrimp to add to my toddler meal. $20 wasted.
Customer Service - Well I stood there watching women walk back and forth for at least 10 minutes. No greeting at all. Yes, I was noticed standing in the glass window.
I'm 100% Trini and I would rather get curry from Golden Crust on Route 40 in Catonsville. Their curry is delicious. I'm not too crazy about their roti. Their stew chicken is good. Customer service is usually very good for a Jamaican eatery.
August 2024 - Not the best Trinidadian experience. Their food was very flavorful in the early 2000's when they were on Mc Elderry. Not so much as of July 2023-24. I will not return. The amount of money spent was not comparable to what was received.
We ordered curry shrimp roti, stew beef buss up, and spinach.
Curry Shrimp was bland.
Stew Beef was absolutely awful, bland, tough, and riddled with gristle.
What a huge blow for Trini food. It's already extremely difficult to find in Baltimore. Yes, I a Trini to de bone.
Their dishes don't deserve pictures.
This used to be the best place to get food. They are clearly under new management and cooks have changed. The curry chicken was spoiled. Potatoes were literally so sour couldn’t even finish the first bite. Waste of $80.
I confirmed they had all the items I wanted, placed a phone order and paid over the phone. I arrived at least 40 minutes later and my order still was not ready. I left and came and still they were short 2 doubles and tried to substitute it with less interesting items of which I declined. I got home and the buss up shot was not bussing. In other words, it was like thin roti bake. The pumpkin was good but the aloo was hunks of potato with very little channa. I returned yesterday to surpise my sister with doubles knowing I would avoid the buss up shut. I ordered 8 doubles at $3.75 USD per doubles. Yesss...you heard correctly. Please take a look at what I paid $3.75 for. Every last one looked like this. You can count the channa. How this place is rated a 4 star is beyond me. I will resume making my own buss up shut and doubles packed with channa and topped with proper tambran sauce, cucumber chutney and other condiments. Some businesses should just close up shop and this is one. The portions have gotten VERY small compared to other Caribbean establishments and the prices have increased tremendously. No wonder they don't post prices anywhere. Do yourself a favor and avoid West Indian Flavour.
They should’ve informed the public it’s a completely new team in there. The real owners or West Indian flavor has a new restaurant with a new name. But unfortunately the old or new management didn’t feel the need to change the name or at least let the public know. We get this horrible food and service without even knowing it’s all new people there. ???????????????????????? Do not recommend
Food was disgusting chicken was dry rice was dry no jerk sauce ugh I should’ve went to Montego Bay like I started to but it was packed and I was in a rush never again will I patronize this place tho the food is disgusting amd they have someone in the kitchen working with severe dry and peeling skin didn’t notice until she handed me my food
