Best WLM Reviews
Stopped in the West End Tavern for dinner and to watch the end of the football game. Greeted and seated by friendly staff, we chose to sit inside to watch the only TV over the bar instead of sitting outside overlooking the marina. The restaurant has an impressive open-flame pizza oven; however, we opted for something different. Starting with the French onion soup, I had the wedge, and my wife had the salmon. The French onion soup was some of the best we have had, and the entrees were spot on. Side note: this tavern only has the one TV and is NOT a sports bar. However, it does serve some great food, and we look forward to stopping back and trying some other menu items.
Unfortunately, like several of the reviews before me, I did not have a good experience.
I ordered the ribeye medium rare and the first one came well done, it was very tough and chewy. No worries, mistakes happen. The waitress came over to let me know they took it off the bill and put another one on the grill. Before my second steak came my family was done eating, dessert and all, and had all their food boxed up.
The next one came out and it was totally raw in the middle. The manager came over to apologize and ask how the new steak was and when I showed him he just told me sorry about that and then they brought me a box to take it home. I guess I will try to cook it in my microwave.
I've been ordering steak for many years and this is the first one I have ever sent back. I'm not a picky eater but neither of these were edible. One additional star because the rest of my party enjoyed their meals.
Beautiful spot for lunch or dinner. The outdoor seating is right above the lake view , u can see clear across the water. Food took a little long but it was served hot and correct. Drinks were always checked on by waitstaff. Very welcoming.
We were a party of five. Our food came out promptly and hot. The Tavern Burger and fries were amazing. The seafood chowder was even better! The side salad was way above average with spring greens and multiclor tomtoes. The wood fire pizza is legit. And when one of us ordered carrot cake for dinner, the server didn't blink an eye!
This was the first time that we had been to this restaurant. We normally go to Apache Trout and Grill, but we just had fish a few days prior and wanted something different. I'm not sure how we overlooked this restaurant, but we were glad we stopped in. The food was excellent, especially the calamari, and it compares to some of the best calamari that we've had on the east coast. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and I'm sure when the weather conditions are better it would be nice to sit outside. Also the service was great. So we would highly recommend the West End Tavern.
My husband and I had our date night here and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and so were the drinks! This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! We live about an hour away and it was well worth the drive. This was a more expensive date night than were used to but so so worth it. Lovely place and service!
The French onion soup was amazing!! The pizza and pasta were not. The chicken on the pasta was like dark meat taken of gas station chicken. It was so gross. The white sangria tasted like old juice. It was over priced. The waitress was oblivious to our one need- cashing out the check. The view is pretty but overall
I wouldn’t recommend.
Wife and I came from Lansing for our anniversary dinner so we could try something different. The atmosphere was great and the food overall was pretty good. Walleye and sides were all killer but the medium steak came out medium-well. I really just wished the pricing had been clear on the menus so we didn’t have sticker shock when the bill came. We expected to pay more in TC, but we didn’t expect to pay over $100 for two dinners, two drinks, a 3% service fee, and a tip! That’s what we paid when we went to an upscale steakhouse with a dress code! This experience really soured us on ever coming to Traverse City again.
