West Chester Hospital

I recently was diagnosed w breast cancer. Words no woman ever wants to hear. My treatment at UC West Chester was outstanding! Outstanding!!!! Every nurse, every physician, every receptionist even the man in the parking lot hired to keep it litter free were incredible. I’m so happy to have these people taking care of me! Excellent prognosis due to early detection! Ladies, get your mammograms and MRI. Go to UC West Chester!!!

If you’re reading this please do not go here. I came to the Emergency Room here for an asthma attack after having taken 6-7 nebulizer treatments and once I was taken back the nurse immediately tried to force an IV in my arm while I was talking to the doctor. Not only that, but when I asked her to stop and told her I did not want that she looked at the doctor for confirmation and didn’t just immediately stop? Right after this 10 minutes later someone else came in and gave me an IV after the Dr. had just told me I wouldn’t be needing one. Took my blood and left the samples in my room the entire stay!!! After that they tested me for the viral infections and then told me it was negative and sent me home with that and an X-ray and said my asthma issues were just anxiety and left me with a 4,000$ bill, no medication, and a viral infection diagnoses.

Nursing and other staff are wonderful, doctors not so much. Took my 88 year old mother with heart attack symptoms. Was told we would discharge today, after 5:00pm were still waiting for cardiology to sign off. We were told the cardiologist would be in to see us before discharged. He never came. The nurse brought DC papers with absolutely no DC instructions. Zero. We were never given a definitive diagnosis, never given results of her echocardiogram. Never given an explanation of her frequent chest pains she experienced while in their “care” never given nitro for home after she was given that when she had chest pains in this hospital. Never had any explanation for these chest pains. Finally the charge nurse dug and found her diagnosis. Literally her DC papers only had general health info given to everyone and a list of her current meds and a note to get another echocardiogram in a week. No number to call for making a follow up appt. The hospitalist was rude and was out of the door, clearly wasn’t in the mood to do his job. The cardiologist in my opinion is negligent. My cat gets better care at the vet, I will NEVER go to this hospital again.

Everything about this hospital makes them stand out above the rest (unless you have a child and then go to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital). The staff is wonderful, the doctors and nurses are wonderful. Everyone here makes you feel like they care! Their billing department is willing to help and and easy to talk to!

We were immediately met with an attitude from the ER DR, DR KAISER. Her bedside manner is absolutely horrendous and who says to a patient who is obviously sick of being sick.. “we’re all going to die sometime”….completely threw me for a loop. The only people who were remotely helpful was the nurse, Taylor, the crew in the step down unit and the crew on the 4th floor. Other than that, not a good experience whatsoever.

My 72 yr. old mother was in the ER for left arm and back pain. She obviously was concerned having an aortic aneurysm. She was very cold in the room and had to ask for 2 different blankets.

She showed him her fingers and he finally brought her a heating pad, which she didn't realize was an option. She asked JOE if she could go to the bathroom. He didn't come back for 45 min. She even called the front desk only to have them pick up the phone and then hang back up. When he finally showed up, she asked him and he told her he forgot and then started ripping the leads off of her aggressively! She yelled ouch and started crying. He said nothing and discharged her with no apology nor explanation. This is completely unacceptable! It doesn't matter what kind of day he was having, he had no reason to take it out on my mom! She will not be returning to this facility. I just don't want to see anyone else go through this and I truly hope the patient relations takes care of this like they should. I also alerted them to the pathetic reviews by others and should maybe take a look at this themselves in their next meeting!!!

Has to be the worst hospital I’ve ever been to, I don’t even think in Cuba they have worst hospitals . I went in for swollen tonsils they supposedly ran test that came out negative and they just sent me home with a steroid, I didn’t think much of it so I did as they said. They recommend if it got worst to come back. I proceed to come back 2 days later due to my tonsils where so swollen that my throat shut closed. All they did was give me pain meds and just told me to do gargle with water and salt that I had no infection, which 2 days later at a cvs minute clinic I went to for a second opinion and they clearly knew I had an infection. Which they gave me anti biótics for and told me they needed to be drained. I proceeded to to another hospital which they admitted me asap, did catscans and got my tonsils drained asap. They couldn’t believe a hospital sent me home in the conditions I was in.

Everyone in this hospital is poorly trained, they don’t care about the patient all they worried about is billing the insurance company. Not even in a third world country I’ve gotten such bad treatment. I recommend no one to go to this hospital unless your tryna have a hefty bill and no results.

If leaving no stars was possible I would do that. As a new father trying to be there for my new born son I was simply trying to protect his peace of mind by allowing him to grab my finger to stop his panic reflex when he was un-swaddled. The nurses complained that was making their jobs harder, like that was the focus of my concern. She at one point slapped my hand away while I was holding his and I made a formal complaint. I then left to change clothes an shower an upon returning was greeted by security guards who forced me to get my things an leave an would not tell me why untill I was out of the room at which point they said my girlfriend was scared to be in a room with me an i could not contact her or return or I would be trespassed an arrested. My girl then called me crying saying they told her I couldn't come back because I made the nurses job harder an she never said that. I filed an official complaint at which point almost a day later when they discharge her they say I was removed because I made a complaint on the nurse not because my girl said that (which she never did) an I can drop my complaint because seeing her an my son no longer would be an issue. She was very defensive of her employee and became angry when I said it was a clear example of "toxic feminincity" when you have a group of females playing victim and inciting authorities to get involved using policies meant to protect good women from abusive men just to remove a good man from his son because he made a nurses job hard, like everyone else's job ain't hard an that's an appropriate response, never minding the fact since I had complained about a nurses wrongdoing I was removed under false pretenses from my newly born son an my girl who just gave birth an needed me by her side. Great midwife an doctor, horrible nursing staff an security all the way through, all I can say is one day they will have to look good in the eyes an answer for things like that. What they put me through was egregious then they had the audacity to act like I'm the problem. I recommend bringing a strong minded and willed doula if u ever plan to have a baby here (edit: do not leave a generic message saying to contact patient relations, I did an they are rude,dismissive,an defensive)
