Best WLM Reviews

Pros: Great view, nicely updated room, very spacious, nice location, friendly staff, very reasonable room rates
Cons: they definitely need to up their cleanliness game. Floors felt sandy and dirty. Bathroom could have been cleaner as could the kitchen sink. I found several hairs in the bathroom that weren't mine, same in the kitchen and the bedroom. The bathroom mirror is pretty high tech and should light up brightly when you press a button. Mine did not work, so I went down to the office to ask about it. I was told they knew it was broken and they couldn't fix it. It was not a big deal, but it would have been nice if they had mentioned that to me when I checked in. I traveled with a friend who had a one bedroom suite the same as I did. Her room however had a nice fireplace, mine did not. Nowhere on the website or when I called to make a reservation was I told that there were different types of one bedroom suites. Again not a deal breaker, but I would have liked to have the option of choosing a room with a fireplace. It was somewhat inconvenient that there was no place to hang clothes except a couple of hooks in the hallway. Given the size of the room, I would have expected some sort of closet.
I see some similar reviews from past guests about cleanliness, so hopefully management will address this issue.
We loved everything about this place, minus the shower. It wasn't horrible, but is something we hold important to our travel stay. It was nice hot water, but just not great.
The location was amazing right on Nelscott beach. Deck off the first floor with private stairs down to the beach. Absolutely would recommend staying here if you are a rock hounding enthusiast or just love an amazing view of the pacific ocean.
We arrived in the evening and checked in with ease. The front desk clerk was great and very helpful. We went to our 1st floor room and went in using a door lock code. We noticed that the room was beautiful and spacious. The living room area had a couch, small table, fireplace, and kitchenette. There was a large sliding glass door that opened to a back deck and a beautiful ocean view. The bedroom was small, but nice with a queen bed that was comfortable. The bathroom across from the bedroom was amazing. The room was perfect, but it smelled like Marijuana had recently been smoked in it. We told the front desk clerk and she gave us Fabreeze and it worked to kind of hide the scent. The upside for this place was the amazing Pacific Ocean view. The down side was the stinky Marijuana odor and the small parking lot.
I was very pleasantly surprised by our room. I didn't find out that my husband had booked us at a 2 star hotel until we were on our way, so I was nervous. Fortunately my expectations were way exceeded and West Beach Suites ended up being a really nice place to stay.
The decor and fixtures have been nicely updated - they did a good job. The beachfront view can't be beat and the wooden stairway leading down to the beach was great.
A couple of things that weren't so great were 1. When we first walked into our room the windows were heavily smudged with greasy marks, it was gross. Luckily there was cleaning spray and paper towels but I had to use a lot of elbow grease to clean them off. 2. The people above us were very noisy, even past 1 am, off and on throughout the night. Probably best to try and book on the 3rd floor.
Neither of those things are deal breakers for me though and the pros outweighed the cons. It really is a pleasant little retreat.
*Update: I saw a couple of 1star reviews that were appalling about how messy their rooms were. I'm thankful we didn't get one of those (except for the greasy windows). It seems like the majority of rooms are fine with at least a couple of really bad exceptions.
This was my first time staying here. I have stayed at another of their properties in Yachats. I found the room nice sized and updated. I liked the location, easy beach access, and refrigerator was nice to have. The staff were very nice and helpful! The directions for the TV and gas fireplace were nice to have. The coffee maker in the room was nice. They also offer a limited breakfast in the office that was convenient.
But I found some things that were disturbing. There was hair in the shower from 2 different people when I arrived. In addition to sand on the corner shelf in the shower. The sheets on the bed had a stain on them. At least that was what I hoped vs dirty. There was also hair in the bed. The only place to hang anything was 2 little hooks in the entry hallway. Some rooms have fireplaces others don’t. I thought by write up they all did.
First time here, honestly not impressed the view and stuff breath taking, the cleanliness was TERIBBLE, the floors were dirty dusty, and I found hairs and other stuff in the bathroom the sheets were not changed, towels had hairs on them. The town and space is beautiful but they need to work on how to clean a hotel room. I couldn’t even sleep in the bed I needed to buy my own blankets. To feel safe and clean. Stains on the pillows. I don’t think I will be coming here again.
so room was clean but for a wall in bed room. looked like something got spilled and nobody wiped it up. stayed on second floor great view and had a nice fire place the beach had lots of treasures aggets and shells all kinds of cool stuff for the rock hunters out there. the road to the hotel sucks small road hard to navigate at dark.
It was the perfect place to stay for Thanksgiving. We love being in ocean front hotels and have often paid twice this price. West Beach Suites recently reopened after extensive remodeling. I loved that the windows open a bit so we can hear the ocean while warm inside. Easy walking to Nelscott Shopping Center.
