Wendy's in Clay Center is a great spot for a quick and satisfying meal. The location is very convenient, making it easy to stop by whether you're running errands or just passing through. I absolutely cannot stand that they are closing everything down before they are officially closed. I am pregnant and it’s extremely annoying when I just want a frosty at 10:00pm/10:30pm and they say “Sorry we’ve already emptied it” my husband got some baconator fries for me… the bacon is cold, cheese isn’t melted, and fries aren’t even warm…
I worked in a burger joint before.. you do not close everything down and refuse to serve what is on the menu because you want to leave right as the clock turns 11:00… you stop service at 11:00 and start cleaning after the doors are locked.. not an hour before you are set to lock the doors. I’m not even one to be a Karen either but it’s extremely annoying having worked fast food.. you serve what is on the menu as long as you are open.
And they never refunded my card! Don't make this mistake here!!!
I ordered 4 plain burger patties with no bun. With tax, I was charged $24.48 for 4 patties! That's nearly $25/lb for hamburger!!
When I realized what I thought was a mistake, I took the patties back to correct it. They said they don't have a "patty button" on their register so they have to charge full hamburger price ($5.59 for each patty). I told them I've been to many Wendy's where they charged $1-2 per patty. They said they're an independent franchise so they're run differently. I told them I'd like to return my patties. They said they weren't sure if they could return them but I insisted until they did.
-We ordered #3- 10 piece nuggets (what we thought was a meal-see pic). Sign said $4.59 and we were charged $7.99. I asked them about this. They said it's $4.59 for just the nuggets. The fries and drink are extra. (We ordered a frosty so we expected a little extra but not $3.30 extra.) I pointed out that their signs show chicken nuggets, fries and drink for $4.59. There's not a different price listed for a combo. They said they aren't sure why their signs are like that.
-We also ordered a crispy chicken BLT and were given a crispy chicken instead. Didn't notice that mistake until after we left.
The nuggets looked overcooked, old and dry as paper. They shouldn't serve food that looks like this. I used to work fast food and this place should be embarrassed for serving low quality food. The cooking oil is probably old and hasn't been changed out in a while.
Tired of wasting my money on this place.
Fries were broken, cold and looked unappealing.
Continually fails to get the order correct, leaving items of the order out, not letting the customer finish their order before asking for the size or if the customer wants anything else. They rush the customer through and are routinely rude to customers.
Do NOT recommend this Wendy’s. The staff is very rude especially the General Manager. The food is always sitting there for at least 20 minutes and they still use it to make your meal. This goes for fries and meat and such. This particular Wendy’s location is the filthiest I have ever seen. As someone who has worked at many fast food restaurants, this Wendy’s would not survive if it was ran the way it was supposed to be ran…
I have Celiac Disease so I must be gluten free. Two visits in the last 2 weeks to enjoy a baked potato and would have to wait over 10 minutes each time. Each visit was between 11:10 & 11:20 am. Do you not know how to plan for something on your menu? Ended up having a burger without the bun. It was good, but not what I wanted!
