Stayed for a week. Was an OK room, nothing fancy just basic. Room faced the parking ramp so view was not great. But was cheap and a nice bed. Surprisingly we didn't have any housekeeping come the whole week until Saturday morning checkout they were knocking at 9 am to clean. Had to call housekeeping twice to get towels and toilet paper delivered to the room. It was worth the price and would recommend to anyone.
Nice casino for the area. Some areas in need of an update but still comfortable. The restaurants have good food. Slot machines are older and not many table games.
Upon check none of my stay requirements were met. The rooms are dirty they put us in a smoking room when i asked for non smoking room. 2 beds instead of king the beds were really uncomfortable. My air conditioning went out in the middle of the night which made it really hard to sleep. I was told they will fix it. I complained about my room but pretty much was told too bad, even though it wasn’t the rooms I paid for. This is the second time I have a had a bad experience here. As far as entertainment they have good bands. My next trip I’m gonna plan to try another place. My biggest thing on this trip was to relax and and that didn’t happen.
To start I was given the wrong room at check in, we clearly had 2 people in our group. Booked a 2 queen room and got alllllll the way to our room with our bags and it was one bed… had to go all the way back down with all of our luggage to get the room we had originally paid for. The front desk was extremely nice. It was just annoying after driving five hours and carrying luggage. Accidents happen so I can’t really complain too much about that, but it was definitely an inconvenience after driving so long and being really tired. The casino was a letdown to me, very small in comparison to the other casinos there, and I spent a lot of money and never got one free game the ENTIREEE TIME. ($800 later)
The next part of my review is kind of mixed. While I did talk to some very friendly people, there was a giant gap in the customer service. Could not order a drink from a waitress because they would literally yell “I’m not taking orders right now” in an extremely rude tone.. but like I said, I have mixed reviews because some of them were extremely friendly and nice. My other complaint was the first machine I got on malfunctioned and I literally had to sit for a good 20 minutes looking for help. I walked around the floor, I went up to the bartender, I asked the security guard that was walking by and he said he could not call anyone for help because he was busy. It was just very annoying to be there spending a lot of money trying to enjoy myself when I felt like there was a huge lack in the service department. Also people at the food court could use some customer service skills. The food prices were a little too expensive in my opinion for what was offered. Big up charges for small changes as well.
Best customer service I got was in the bingo area. The two women that were working were AMAZING AND NICE. Even when asking questions, they were super helpful and didn’t mind explaining the packages they offered. I appreciated them and wish everyone else was as helpful and kind as them. Also the lady working where I got my players card was nice and sweet as well. Unfortunately some of the others just treated me like an inconvenience to them and an annoyance that they had to do their job.
Overall I wish my experience could have been better but I’m sure some people working are tired, over worked and underpaid so I’m not sure who the blame should fall on.
It's a classic what can I say. It lights up beautifully at night sending a beam of light high above! They have contests, plenty of slots and nice rooms as well. Don't forget your players card!
I have been a guest for the past 15+ years. My parents used to love staying at the Tropicana and as kids we thought it was wonderful. I can't say the same goes for me as an adult now. We decided to stay a night after driving home from Vegas. For "old time sakes". Check in was at 3p, so we had lunch prior to arriving. Mom and I (we had 2 rooms booked) went inside to check in and that is where it went downhill. Front staff was not helpful, I would say maybe they needed a warm body to fill the position. When checking in we realized Mom was accidently booked for a "smoking" room. Staff was not able to switch us, told us that was what the reservation was for. A smoking room. I couldn't grasp why we could not be switched into a non- smoking room, we were only staying 1 night. I explained the mistake, mom just needed a non smoking room. I was told after the busy weekend, mind you were are checking in Monday and out on Tuesday, they had no rooms available. I asked to speak with someone else, at time point the conversation was going no where and lack of guidance on what to do next. Staff denied me the right and said there was nothing more to be done. I was more than disappointed in her professionalism. I contacted the 800number for reservation and explained to them the issue with the room. Without hesitation they were able to switch mom into a non smoking room. We approached the counter and provided them the new confirmation number and they told us we had to come back at 5pm for check in. At this point I was defeated, I had been able to get my room, now mom had to wait until 5pm for check in? Fine, we will be back. Upon return to check in for mom, word must have gotten around about us. A different staff attended to us, we provided confirmation, I assumed she pulled up info and with out saying anything to us or even looking at us she asked my mom to enter her card for payment. I took that time to ask if there was a room close to me that mom could stay in. Staff said no, there was only levels 6-9 available and I was on the 4th floor. So I asked if I can be moved to be closer to mom, she said no, there was nothing else available. I asked "are you guys always this short with guest?". She responded, we had a busy weekend and there are no rooms available. This was insane to me, the level of rudeness and disrespect. There was no consideration and no problem solving provided. At one point I thought, am I being pranked. What is this? I would hate to think the level of customer service my mother would have received had someone not been there to help advocate for her. Staff was tasteless, rude and disrespectful. I should have known to leave after that, but we stayed. I had to approached the front desk again 2 times due to my keys not working for my room door. There was hair and a scrunchy in our shower. A/C rattled like an old tin can rolling in the street. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. My family and I will not be returning, and I will share my experience with family and friends in order to prevent them from going through the same.
Best of luck!!
I Only Purchased A Room Here As A Last Resort To Stop By At On My Way To California. Right Away, The Room Smelled Like Smoke In A Non Smoking Area And Marijuana. Not Enough Toiletries Were Given, Lack Of Other Essential Items Like Towels And Tolet Paper Were Also Missing. The Housekeeping Staff Are VERY RUDE. They Keep Asking When You'll Leave The Room And Check Out. Not My Problem That These Rude Staff Members Representing The Hotel Are Working As Housekeepers. They Are Very Racist. I Booked Another Night To Give This Place Another Try. As A Result, My Key Cards Stopped Working And So I Got Kicked Out Of My Room And Had To Walk All The Way Downstairs With My Baby In Hand To Receive New Key Cards That Worked. I Shouldn't Have To Go Through This And No One Should. Also, When Gambling In The Casino, Good Luck Getting Service From Cocktail Waitresses Who Also Racially Profile You And Don't Bother Coming Your Way To Offer Drinks, But Will Service People Who Are Of A Lighter Skin Complexion. My Whole Stay Has Been Ruined And It Saddens Me That These Employees Lack Cultural Competence And Professionalism. Tropicana Needs To Hire Employees Who Will Not Drag Them Into Lawsuits Later On In The Future. I Still Haven't Even Heard Back From The Manager From The Front Desk To Address The Housekeeper Issues. No Sense Of Urgency. No Employees That I Interacted With During My Stay Here Have Been Proactive At Ensuring That I Enjoy My Stay Here At All. VERY Disappointed
The rooms were dusty, bathroom floors weren't mopped. Not enough towels, shampoo. I was disappointed on how everything wasn't the way it used to be. Restaurant service wasn't that great nor the cost and quality of the food. I've always liked the food but even that went downhill. I'll still stay there because of the location but will limit other things.
