The key here is to arrive as early as possible to get the room you reserved. The three times we stayed here they always booked up very fast, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The room we ended up in with my son and my fiancee reminded me of motel rooms. I believe it was in the South tower. To sum it up, my 8 year old loved the room jumping from one bed to the other and swam in the surprisingly small and not well-maintained swimming pool for almost two hours. The customer service for the most part is up to par and aim to please.
The property is slightly 'dated' but more than adequate and the price is right too. A little further from the cluster of the other boardwalk casinos, but definitely walkable. Our room in the West Tower was clean and afforded a view of the ocean, boardwalk, southern view of the city and beyond, and the back bay. I will definitely stay there again.
We have been coming to The Tropicana is Atlantic City for 20 plus years. Our room accommodations are fine. However, the fact that there is NO ACCESS to both pools during our stay is unacceptable. That said, had they told us pools were closed prior, that would have allowed us to either find another hotel or come at a different time. Additionally, no beach chairs or umbrellas could be rented until June 21st. Again, no information was shared. When you hi to a resort, esp after Memorial Day, it is reasonable to expect AT LEAST one of the pools open as well as beach service. We did speak w Chris the front desk manager and he indicated that on the website it says “ Indoor pools are closed Tues and Wed”. He told me to pull it up on my phone, which I did and the website said “ Opened daily from 9-5”. He shrugged his shoulders and said “ I’m sorry there is nothing I can do”. Then he offered to allow us to have a late check out on Thursday and said that was all he could do. I told him unfortunately that doesn’t help us, and he said we could speak w Katie tomorrow. Hopefully, we will get better customer service from Katie. It really was VERY disappointing. And I’ve noticed many of the responses back to a comment where a customer wasn’t happy w their experience are very robotic which was exactly how Chris responded.
I had the Deluxe Ocean View and it was clean, bed was nice and not a bad experience, but slightly outdated room. The casino was extremely smokey even on the non smoking side and didn't seem exciting like other casinos I visited on the boardwalk. Overall decent and I would stay again.
Stayed at the Tropicana in the Havana tower in April 2024 for 4 nights. First off, watch your belongings at all times even when you are in a fancy restaurant at the property. My purse, including my wallet and cell phone, was stolen off the back of my chair. The restaurant had video of it happening and did not charge us for our dinner. This didn't even come close to the cost of having to replace everything. At check out I told the lady my purse was stolen and she apologized but offered us nothing. The hotel security said they would call us back the next day and never did. No one at the hotel felt it was a big deal or even cared that my items were stolen at there property.
The room was decent but dated and needed a good cleaning, including the carpet. Your room will only get cleaned unless you call in the morning to be put on a list. We were not aware of this and would expect they would tell you when you are staying for 4 nights. We had asked for more towels and garbage bags, and we're told to leave it outside our door.
Every night, people would leave their kids unattended to do whatever they wanted and be as loud as they wanted.
Been coming here for many years.Not the same as last owner comps . No more 5 dollar tables even on week days Still my place to go . Good slots. Kept some older quarter machines that's good. LOVE quarter and many restaurants. Easy access to board walk .

everything was terrific about our stay. however, me and my family had to do an early check out and called the front desk rep to ensure that we did everything the right way and ask for an email copy of our bill. the representative was horrible, she had no customer service, truly unacceptable. she had and attitude once told that we didn’t receive the email of the bill. we provided two different emails and received nothing. asked to be transferred to a supervisor and she denied. stating that she will NOT transfer to a supervisor. there needs to be something done with the representative at the front desk. me and my family will NOT be coming back.
