Very nice location, friendly staff. Some of the rooms are a little dated and old. We were fortunate enough to get a nice suite in the Havana Tower. Good, clean room. The food options here are just awesome with some great restaurants on the Quarter which is very nice with higher end shopping also. Gaming areas are quite large with a good variety of choices for your budget. The Boardwalk is nice but has its share of the usual people who ask for money, etc.
The hotel seemed pretty dated to me. The rooms were ok. The toiletries were very limited. We had to ask for refills and get them ourselves from downstairs. We had asked for an ocean view room but only got to see the ocean from a corner of the window. The rest of the hotel, as in downstairs, is very busy. Although there were a lot of stores and activities, nothing was worthwhile. All restaurants were over priced. Will not be staying here again.
I LOVED MY WEEKEND HERE... me and my husband just wanted a weekend away. It was so much fun. Great time. Everything was so nice and clean. So many options for food.. kinda sad I didn't get to try them all. But we will be back again..
This place is terrible. We got a non-smoking room and it smelled so strongly of cigarettes. The room was so dingy and dirty. The linoleum floor had weird bumps. The room was also extremely hot when we got in and it was a hassle to find the discolored sign that the thermostat was hidden under. There was no soap at the sink. The casino hotel is a confusing and so is parking. It took us an eternity to find parking and our way around. The only positive thing was that the staff was very nice.
Comfortable room with old TV. Unable to stream to TV from phone. TV channels freezing . Casino atmosphere was boring. No nightlife. Some restaurants not open til later in week. Pillows were too soft . Had to leave and go to HR casino and hotel for a more entertaining environment. Tango bar was dark . No sign of life! Tropicana did have nice Christmas decorations around casino which was a positive vibe. Come here 95-98% when staying in AC.....might have to rethink next stay! Happy Holidays!
Rooms are old, floors are gross. This place feels like Reno's back yard that has 14 dogs and no one ever cleans it up. They gave us a room for "free" except you have to pay a resort fee. I wasn't going to review this one because it's Atlantic City and is exactly what I would expect, however, they charge over $5 for a glass of soda at the bar while you are gambling. That has got to be the worst business plan I've ever seen at a casino. The staff was friendly and until the soda incident happened, I enjoyed my stay here. After that, 3/10 would not recommend. Caesars was cleaner, nicer and the same price for a room. ????
Was in the Chelsea building. Old but decent. They need more maps to get around that place. The elevators are SLOW. trying to leave out the garage took 40 mins! The showroom was really nice. The overall atmosphere is nice but I’ll stay in a new tower next time.
We just got back from A.C. This was our last time staying at the Tropicana. We made it a tradition of flying up every December from Florida to enjoy their Christmas display. But that's just mellowed out completely over the last couple of years. They used to have a great Christmas show every year called "Jingle". Last year, they had nothing. This year, they had some corny performance of people coming out and just singing Christmas songs, while charging people $40 a ticket. Literally, half of the audience had left before the show was even over. It was so obvious that one of the performers on stage stopped the show to rudely comment to everyone leaving.
They removed the benches from the main square where the Christmas tree is displayed. Stopped with the fake snowfall, that everyone used to enjoy.
On top of everything, they over-charged us for parking. Their parking policy on their website says in-and-out privileges for guests. The parking garage attendants still charged us $15 each time we left the garage. Hotel manager said he would credit our account, which he never did. An email to their customer service was never returned. So, screw it. We spend thousands on gambling, rooms, food, shopping, etc. each stay at Tropicana. We will be staying at the Ocean Casino for now on.
