Hotel Hell at the Miami Airport Hotel||I'm usually not one to leave scathing reviews, but my recent stay at the Miami International Airport hotel on May 3rd was an experience so shockingly poor that I feel compelled to warn fellow travelers.||For a whopping $350 per night, I expected at least decent service and accommodations. What I got instead was an experience worse than a $20 per night motel.||The problems started at check-in, with a mind-numbing 1 hour and 15 minute wait just to get keys. No staff apologized or even thanked us for our patience - they seemed to think making guests wait over an hour was perfectly acceptable.||The attached photo shows one staff member openly mocking the situation by childishly mimicking the reception desk while customers stood in long lines, waiting. It was an absolute embarrassment.||The rooms themselves were tragically outdated, with no windows or curtains and horribly uncomfortable mattresses. The entire property felt run-down and not remotely worth the $350 nightly rate.||Worst of all was the apathetic, couldn't-care-less attitude from every staff member. Not a single smile or shred of decent customer service. They acted like they were doing us a grand favor by reluctantly giving us the room we paid for.||Multiple times during the queue, staff members inexplicably left their posts while the lines grew longer. There was zero proactive queue management or concern for the paying customers.||I arrived at 10pm after a flight from Toronto, exhausted and looking forward to a comfortable night's rest before my connecting flight. Instead, I got nickel-and-dimed, ignored, and disrespected at every turn.||This was, without hyperbole, the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I've learned my lesson - I'll never again stay at the Miami Airport hotel. Even driving 2-3 miles away for a cheaper place with better service and no endless queues would have been a million times better.|Save your money and what's left of your sanity - avoid this terribly mismanaged airport hotel at all costs.

I had a flight arriving late into Miami, and given this hotel is the only one at the airport, I decided to spend a night here before moving to central Miami. The location is indeed incredibly convenient, as I was able to walk to it within the airport. ||The check-in desk is actually at the arrivals level, albeit in my case, not my arrival hall. There were no queues when I arrived, and so it was seamless. Once arriving on the floor for my room, it felt rather like a step back in time. The halls are long, sterile and dated. ||The rooms are large, but basic. It appears there have been attempts to update decor, but it's still quite grim, with a large concrete pillar in the room, and curtains that cover areas which one assumes are windows but are not. And the view from the window, provides no need to open the curtains. ||Overall I had a decent sleep. There was some noise from the hallway which disturbed my sleep. It's not an amazing choice, but if you need a place to rest your head, this hotel gets a tick.
I'll admit to some trepidations due to recent previous reviews but we were arriving into MIA late and had an early flight so I was looking for the convenience of not waiting for a shuttle. Really very pleasantly surprised. Location, location, location. It's so dang convenient to Terminal E which is part of AA and easily accessed from Terminal D which is most of AA. To walk out of the doors to the hotel, turn right and be in TSA was awesome. And the CLEAR checkpoint is at that checkpoint along with PreChek. The room was small and maybe a bit dated but it was clean and nice. Small bathroom but the highest water pressure shower ever. I've always felt like the highest compliment is to say "I would stay there again" but I would and am online this morning changing over some overnights later this month.
Very confusing airport, much too big, not good for handicapped people or children.
Have a phone to translate because workers don't all speak English and don't care. Follow all rules before buying tickets, coming in building and going to gates. Have all paperwork, documentation and credit cards most places inside and on board a plane DO NOT TAKE CASH. You can bring something to eat but no drinks from outside. Keep sanitation wipes on you, vagrants hang around all hours...good luck.
This place has less than motel 6 quality with prices on par with a Hilton or Raddison hotel. Low quality and run down. Walls are thin. I could head neighbors and others in the hallway all night. Curtains had pin holes which was annoying for blackout curtains. The furniture was very worn and on the verge of broken. The lampshades we broken. It may seem convenient for a brief layover (I had a 24 hour layover) but better to get a place in the vicinity immediately outside the airport instead of staying here. Garbage staff as well. I tried to call the hotel to see in what terminal/floor reception was located. My call was answered and was told, "please hold." I waited 15 minutes then called back again. Same thing happened and I just walked around and asked airport staff until I found it while I waited on hold (for another 20 minutes). I was still on hold when I found reception and found 2 staff members joking around. I watched as they were actively putting people on hold and never coming back to the call while they joked around with each other. I pulled a Karen and asked to speak with a manager, but at 3 pm on a weekday, there was no manager on site. Surprise surprise. Garbage hotel. Garbage staff. If I could give no stars, I would.
I would've rated this 4 stars in the past, mostly because of the convenience of staying at the airport. Depending on your (travel) plans, that can be a major plus. The level of pricing, however, combined with the quality of the room doesn't warrant more than 3 stars. Still worth doing if you have an early flight in the morning and don't want to get caught in Miami traffic... and if you are willing to pay the price. The rooms are good enough. Don't expect great.
There weren’t very many signs directing to the hotel from the lower levels, so it was difficult to find at first. However, the location is nice if you don’t want to rent a car or travel very far. The airport has many shops and restaurants before security to stop at and grab something quick. The room was nice, but not suggested for if you’d like to plane spot from the room. The window was a fourth of the wall, and it was dirty. The handle was broken, and there was two layers of glass, which puzzled me. You could open the first one but not the second. It was super hard to see out of. Everything else in the room is nice. For most of my stay, only one elevator was working, which made it hard to travel up and down, especially from the sixth floor.
P.S. If you’re looking for a good spot to watch planes from, the dolphin and flamingo parking garages work fairly well, depending on the operations they’re doing at the time. the dolphin garage is good for runway 27 and 30 arrivals and runway 27 departures.
