Best WLM Reviews

No real ale, but Bierra Moretti and the damn Madri. Nice pint of Guinness. Blackcurrant and Soda. Reasonable price. No issues for Watford away football fans.
Near M6 car parking.
Generous portions served for Sunday roast. Nice sun trap of a beer garden literally next to the canal. Only 1 cask ale on at the time of visit, but this is a pub that has tidied up considerably since my last visit a few years ago.
Very tired but with love would be a very good pub, great location next to the canal
Very busy pub, but it was a match day. It was nice to sit by the side of the canal. BTW away fans aren't allowed in and there's security on the door. Top tip, don't park in the zones you're not allowed to on match day or you will get a ticket (see pictures).
Really pleasant visit. Attended prior to a football match at Coventry City FC. Contrary to the comments below away fans are permitted unless the pub is given advice from the police not to, such as local rivals, the same as the use of plastic cups. My advice is to call the pub in advance and check. The pub was very busy on my visit and it was four deep at the bar. They could have done with extra staff and a policy in place, say 4 drinks max per customer? Some
customers were selfishly orderly 8-10 (I kid you not!!) pints EACH. This meant other customers had to wait and some, understandably, just left as the wait time was just too much. That said, I did manage to get served and we sat out in the pleasant garden by the canal. Really friendly atmosphere. We returned after the game and the pub put a band on. The return visit was much calmer and we managed to get a seat inside. Again, home and away fans together and no issues whatsoever. Re parking, the pub has 15 spaces for customers on a first come, first served basis. Don’t park in surrounding streets as many returned to £60 tickets as the place is in a controlled parking zone, issued by the council. If you don’t fancy, or can’t get, official parking, I would suggest the non official car park opposite Novotel on Wilsons Lane. Always spaces and cheap prices too. It’s only a 10 min walk to the Longford engine too!
I was in the engine before going 2 watch rammstein at cbs arena.beer was good and reasonably priced.i have 2 give a big shout out 2 bar staff & gaffe as there were a lot of metal fans in & they turned the juke box up loud 4 us.thank u
Away football supporters pub. Has two handpumps for real ale but not in use for a midweek visit for Blackpool match. Good 10 minute walk to Ricoh arena for footie match. Great staff working under difficult circumstances.
attended the pub on Sunday with my 2 sons and my dad the pub it’s self is quite pleasant. Apart from the fact the toilet was closed. But my biggest complaint is the fact we had to drink our pint out of a plastic pint glass and was told the police had told him he had too I’m assuming that the police had said pick and choose who gets a glass as half the pub had glasses. Also we took a 2 minute walk up the road and enjoyed a pint in a glass the police must think he has a problem with trouble as he is the only pub having to use plastic I won’t be returning

Quick Facts About The Longford Engine

The Longford Engine Place has several strengths that contribute to its overall appeal. Firstly, customers have praised the pub for its reasonable prices, indicating that it offers good value for money. This could be an attractive feature for patrons looking for an affordable place to enjoy their drinks and meals.
Additionally, the pub has received positive comments about the friendly and accommodating staff. The review mentioning the metal fans attending a concert and the staff turning up the jukebox for them demonstrates that the staff are willing to go the extra mile to create a welcoming atmosphere. This can contribute to customer satisfaction and make them more likely to return in the future.
Another strength of The Longford Engine Place is its location next to the canal. Customers have commented on the pleasantness of the beer garden and the opportunity to sit by the canal. This can be seen as a unique selling point for the pub, as it provides an attractive outdoor space for customers to relax and enjoy their drinks.
Furthermore, the pub has generous portions for its Sunday roast. Serving generous portions can appeal to customers who are looking for a satisfying meal and value for their money. This strength can attract customers who are specifically seeking out a pub for a quality Sunday roast.
However, The Longford Engine Place also has some weaknesses that may affect its overall appeal to customers. One comment mentions that there was no real ale available during their visit, which could be disappointing for customers who prefer this type of beer. This lack of variety in beer options may deter some customers who are seeking a wider selection.
Another weakness highlighted in a comment is the use of plastic pint glasses. Some customers expressed frustration at being served their drinks in plastic rather than glass. This can detract from the overall experience and create a negative impression of the pub. The comment also suggests that the pub may have inconsistencies in implementing this policy, which can lead to dissatisfaction among customers.
Another weakness that was mentioned is the lack of available parking spaces. While the pub does have 15 parking spaces for customers, these spaces may fill up quickly, leaving customers to find alternative options. This can be inconvenient for patrons, especially if they are visiting the pub for a specific event or occasion.
In conclusion, The Longford Engine Place has several strengths that contribute to its appeal, including reasonable prices, friendly staff, a pleasant outdoor space by the canal, and generous portions for Sunday roast. However, the pub also has weaknesses such as the lack of real ale, the inconsistent use of plastic pint glasses, and limited parking spaces. These factors may impact the overall customer experience and influence their decision to return to the pub.
