We haven’t been to this café before, so we decided to give it a try for lunch. One of our best decisions for that day!
The service was outstanding. The food arrived quick, and was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp wrap, and my partner went with the daily special. We were both really impressed, not only with the taste, but with the quantity, as well.
The menu had a nice variety, which was unexpected. We noticed several items that we will definitely try on our next visit. Highly recommended.
A shout out to the nice server who introduced me to the house made sweet chili sauce. It was amazing! She had given me a free sample and even included several fries to go with it. An absolute delightful member of staff.

Establishment was clean and very spacious. Restrooms were clean and very roomy. Parking is on street. Keep this in mind, if visiting during busy hours as parking might be further away.
Love trying local restaurants and had to give this place a try. So glad I stopped by because it was just amazing! Great list of options and the service was perfection. Started with onion rings and they were worth every penny! Followed those up with a double cheeseburger and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Meat was great and had a perfect char on them. The fries where just as amazing as the onion rings with a perfect crunch. With all that I had to try a piece of pie. The banana cream was calling my name and I am so happy I listened. I can't think of anything that was not perfect with the food. The place filled up quickly and I see why. A must stop location if you are in the area.
If you are ever traveling down highway 36 through Missouri make sure you stop at the Apple Basket Cafe! The day we ate there the food network was filming for America's Best Restaurants. Our waitress was excellent and I actually saw her running twice to go get the food. This woman should win the Best Waitress in America! The onion rings, fries, blt & meatloaf were the best. We will definitely be back again!! Keep up the good work and thanks again to all for the wonderful lunch!
It was a really good experience the food was excellent I got the special of fish and chips and my wife had the patty melt. We got there right at noon and had to park about a block away but it was worth the walk.
It's a little expensive but the food was good.
My main complaint would be the fact that the bathroom was very short other than that it was good stop and we we will be back for sure...
I would definitely suggest if you are in the area to give it a try...
The wife and I ate here again and it was super good just about spot on for everything and the service was great!
Friend of ours told us we needed to stop by and try the onion rings. We stopped in and the people were absolutely wonderful. Cheryl was our waitress and she was amazing. The onion rings were delicious. I would definitely stop by and try more on the menu. Everything they brought out to others looked delicious.
Great food and the service was very good as well. It can get pretty busy at lunch but the staff works hard to keep up. Their chicken fried steak is cooked to perfection. This was our first time here and it was a great stop to make while passing through town.
We were traveling through Macon from Chicago and read the reviews online. The food was fabulous. We had the country fried steak, cheeseburger and onion rings. Everything was so delicious. And the previous reviews on the onion rings were correct. They were amazing! Will definitely come back when we are visiting family
$37 for a Ribeye that was tough, thin & overcooked. There was no price for the steak on the menu or on the special board at the entrance. The onion rings are usually delicious. They were awful. Should have taken a picture, but lucky for them I didn't have my phone with me. It was like they had taken the thin rind on the outside of the onion, that most folks throw out, they sliced it, dipped it in batter and fried that. The rings didn't hold up under their own weight when they were brought to the table. The crust fell off leaving a sick looking tough thin strip of onion. The server had some kind of lame excuse about the fryer being cooler, but the onion was the problem not the fryer. In our section there were at least 2 tables seated after us and they got their food way before us and one of them got finished just as we were FINALLY served. Take out seemed to be taking a priority over the seated customers too, but that was just my observation. They never came by to offer my wife a refill on her tea. I'm a local and I don't know what has happened here, but it will be a long time if ever before I go back for dinner here. I'll go out of town first.
