I made a little trip to Greece this weekend by visiting Tarpon Springs. The restaurants were lively, and a reason to visit. It's not going to take more than 4 hours to see everything and have a good meal. It is also family friendly and can be explored at any price point -- from free walk around to a big shopping trip.
Tarpon springs seafood festival weekend event. Great food to be had, so many delicious looking dishes to pick from. Lots of vendors along with all the shop vendors, good deals on clothing being offered.

My family and I live closer and frequently visit Tarpon Springs. Tarpon was and is a sea going township. It was originally settled by Greeks and famous for several reason. Most notably sea sponge. My wife loves them for bathing and you may purchase a variety of sizes and textures.
We decided to add this place as parr of our mini vacation- there were so many types of sponges to see. We didn't end up purchasing any but was very tempted- highly recommend you see this in person- we will definitely come back to enjoy this area & potentially take one of the boat adventures too! Highly recommend
Very romantic and beautiful place to walk. Many great restaurants and interesting shops. Can be very peaceful during slower seasons.
Cool place to visit with lots of shops and restaurants. Shop owners are fairly helpful. Slower in August and September. Busy in January, February, and March. So if you're looking to avoid crowds, aim for the fall. Parking is a bit of a pain. No free parking anywhere. Most parking lots have a big sign offering day rates. There are a few that are as low as $3, so unless your desperate, avoid the $8+ ones. Also, bring cash. Almost everywhere takes cards, but there's an upcharge anytime you use a card. Most prices are cash prices.
Fantastic people are really friendly we always enjoy ourselves coming down here to go to eat and do the boat cruises
Great place to take your kids or just to spend a day with your significant other. We saw dolphins that were playing right off the beach!
