I'm reviewing the Rank and File restaurant regarding groups. Twice I've brought groups of about 15 people, and it's gone great! The food is good and reasonably priced. The service people have been very good. They allow separate checks. With a big group, they include a modest tip, but I encouraged my friends to add to it. Hint: whenever you have a big group at a restaurant, get your friends to order their drink and food at the same time. Things go much faster, and it's less work for the waitress or waiter.
My husband and I stayed here a couple weekends ago for a night away. The room was really nice but unfortunately the rest of our experience was not great. When we got there we pulled up to the front as the sign said hotel guests, and certain membership levels. The attendant told us hotel guests needed to park in the parking garage so no big deal we drove over and parked and unloaded our stuff. As we walked over the walkway to the casino security scanned all our stuff and I asked where check in was. He looked very confused and told us guests use valet and we should go back up to the front, we did and the same attendant let us through and didn't apologize or anything. At check in they let us know the pool closed at 5 so we rushed to get over there. I had called ahead to confirm the pool would be open considering I knew it would be the off season and they confirmed it was. When we got to the pool they were out of towels and only one pool was open and not the lazy river or any of the experience I'd seen online. I'm not sure why they didn't mention that when I called ahead specifically asking about the pool. There was one bartender managing the entire packed pool area and not a single other staff member. It wasn't the experience we were hoping for so not sure we will go back.
My husband and I just got back from our stay, and we loved it. The room was clean, nice, with a lovely view. They do have free valet, but we parked our own car. The casino was nice, although we didn't have much luck. There is a smoking and non smoking section. The lazy river was closed for the season, but there was a pool and jacuzzi that was open for guest use. If you can eat at the pink Buddha. Honestly all their restaurants were great, but that was our favorite, then followed by the viewpoint for breakfast. We plan on coming next year when the lazy river is open. It is 21 and over, so obviously not child friendly, which can be a blessing or a curse.
It has good things about it such as nice decor, and nice valets, but the rest of the service is mediocre. The rooms don't have blankets on the bed, and the lights for the thermostat and fire are really bright, and there are constant people on the hall talking.
Never mind the drug dealer making deliveries to Rooms either... we were looking forward to this hotel, but unfortunately we won't be coming back.
Sycuan Casino is a great place to spend an evening. The casino floor is spacious and well-maintained, with a wide variety of games to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. However, I did find the parking to be a bit of a hassle, especially on weekends. Overall, I had a good time and would definitely recommend Sycuan to anyone looking for a fun night out.
I wasn't a big fan of this casino maybe because I lost at every table I sat at. This casino seems like they know how to make a good year's worth of revenue. The casino itself is fancy and really high on pricing for what you get and where you are staying. I don't plan on coming back but it's a must try fo everyone at least ONCE.
We enjoyed our stay, with the exception of the toilet in our room. It was constantly running when we checked in. We called for maintenance. Guy said he fixed it. Within 10 minutes started running again. That was around 9:30pm. So all night we heard it. Next morning went to front desk to have another try at getting it fixed. New maintenance man said he fixed it. Not long after he left it started up again. So that was pretty unpleasant. Other than that, not a bad stay
Iwas wanting to enjoy myself for the weekend and I didn't want to spend too much my money. the suite was awesome priced great view and very clean. The staff was very helpful and the casino games kept me busy all night. I would recommend to everyone
