Best WLM Reviews
I can’t rave enough about this Green Papaya location. Our dining experience was unexpectedly one of the best. The ambience, the service, the food everything was just flawless! We ordered the Thai lettuce wraps, Drunken noodles, basil fried rice, sake, and Chocolate coffee mousse for dessert. Everything was one of the best we have ever had. The service was very professional, fast and pleasant. The food and spice level was just perfect to our liking. The moonstone Asian pear sake was simply delicious. If you’re in the St. Augustine area and want some fingerlicking, spicy food coupled with beautiful decor and service this is the place!
Wow! We had an absolutely beautiful dinner. The service was fast and impeccable, everything was brought out smoothly and the food was delicious. They accommodated our requests and were able to make recommendations for our food and beverage selections. The atmosphere was excellent and it was beautifully decorated. You can tell the staff as an eye for detail in every step of the service. We had the fresh spring rolls and crab rangoons (both which you could tell were house made), a holiday roll, and dynamite roll and a bottle of Nigori Mango Sake. It was all delicious. Next time we come to St. Augustine we will definitely be returning!
Wow! I’m in awe. As soon as we walked in we were blown away! This place is absolutely gorgeous. Very sleek and elegant with beautiful decor everywhere. You really get that Japanese vibe. The host greeted us with a smile and a little girl even gave my children lollipops! We ordered our food and everything was absolutely delicious! I loved seeing the other plates ordered by other guests. The presentation of these dishes is just as fascinating as the food! The BEST Asian cuisine I have EVER had! I wish we lived closer because we would be here often!
The dining experience at this restaurant was impressive. The food was flavorful, and the service was prompt and efficient. Among the dishes we ordered, I highly recommend the chicken wrap in lettuce, a standout appetizer with fresh, vibrant flavors. The papaya salad was also well-executed, delivering a satisfying balance of tang and spice. Their mango sticky rice, while unique in presentation, was a delightful surprise and an excellent way to end the meal. Overall, this is a fantastic spot worth visiting if you find yourself in the area.
I came here during a weekend stay at St. Augustine and I was pleasantly surprised by this spot. The seating and lights were lovely, and the sushi was very fresh. No hint of poor quality, and the presentation was great.
A couple of downsides would be that the service is average and the Thai food wasn't to my standards. Their Pad Kee Mao tasted like Pad Thai sauce tossed with hot basil, and the noodles used were incorrect for the dish. Although the dish was flavorful and would appeal to most, it was considered unauthentic for me.
Other than that, I highly recommend going to them for sushi & sashimi and order the Love Boat for Two! Great value and quality.
I recently visited Green Papaya, and although I had high expectations, the experience was a bit disappointing. We started with the fried duck, which unfortunately turned out to be very greasy, overshadowing its flavor.
The fried rice with pineapple and shrimp had potential, but the excessive spiciness made it hard to enjoy; if it hadn't been for that, it probably would have been a much tastier dish.
As for the sushi, we ordered the Dynamite Roll. The texture wasn't quite what I expected, although I must admit it was the best dish of the night. The Papaya Roll, on the other hand, was really good and stood out for its freshness and flavor.
In summary, Green Papaya has some dishes worth trying, especially the Papaya Roll, but there are aspects that definitely need improvement to provide a more balanced culinary experience. I hope they can refine these details in the future.
The place is under renovation and it feels like there's no air inside. Very hot. Although the food is absolutely exceptional and fresh. My heart goes off to all the sushi bar workers. Thank you green papaya for a great lunch. Although they took the fried avocados off the menu, they still make them for us when we visit. We are honored. Can't wait to see the place after renovations. The service could definitely step up a few notches, no personality, although not rude in any way, just no hospitality, but yet I don't come for the service. I come for the great food
After noticing the billboard signs around town we decided to give this spot a try.
Being it's in a shopping center we didn't expect much in the way of décor but we were wrong. The interior is well laid out with plenty of seating and space.
We started with the Green Papaya Sampler which came with two of each item so It was perfect for sharing.
I had the Thai Fresh Garlic entree and my wife had Thai Special Fried Rice. We finished the meal with the Tuxedo Bombe dessert. Everything was tasty. I went with the spice level 2 of 5 and ended up wishing I had gone with a level 5.
Service was perfect and they checked on us often.
Update, we went again today. Food and service still very good.
Looking forward to going back.
