Twas my first time eating at shaggys. I discovered the restaurant during Cruising the Coast weekend. The reviews on the restaurant were good and the place almost had 5 stars, so I decided to give it a try. The vibes and atmosphere of the place were quite enjoyable. Mean while I listened to someone suggestion on what I should order instead of listening to my gut or ordering what I had a taste for. The dish that I ordered wasn't the best "at the time" but the manager made it right by refunding me. I did end up trying the crab soup and coconut shrimp and they were excellent. I would definitely return.
Sydney is amazing! So friendly and all the food recomendations were a 10/10! We had the crab claws, crab cakes, and the royal red. A side of hush puppies and 2 deserts. Loved every bite! Thanks for making Mississippi memorable. So much yum!
My daughter and I were driving through town on a Saturday and decided to stop in at Shaggy’s. Wasn’t expecting much, but we were delightfully surprised. Just had beers and fried pickles. Both were good, but, man… the atmosphere! Absolutely beautiful overlook of the gulf and the marina. Beautiful doesn’t capture it. STUNNING. And the guy playing the music was incredible. Good playlist if chill guitar and singing. Our server Ashlee took great care of us, even though we weren’t having the “full dinner” experience. This is absolutely a place worth going out of your way to visit.
There’s a reason this place has such high ratings. Everything was great. Service, atmosphere, food, all of it. We sat downstairs in the open area. The breeze was refreshing. The live musician kept the atmosphere light and fun. We had the stuffed flounder, seafood plate and stuffed red fish. I can’t tell you which was the best. Each bite seemed better than the last. Maggie was our server, who definitely was awesome. Carrie was the bartender and recommended drinks we hadn’t tried before. None were disappointing. This will be my new favorite place to eat in this area. Do yourself a favor and get down here and try this place.
Ash was the best server! She was funny and made the restaurant 100x better. I got the crab claws and shrimp and it was amazing. Ash was super friendly and good with the kids super on top of it! Ash deserves more recognition! The view was beautiful as well. We will be back!
Definitely stop into Shaggy's when you want some really well prepared fresh bounty of the Gulf Coast and local fare. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The live music was spot on and the ambiance was a true southern fun and relaxing atmosphere. I recommend you dive into Shaggy's when you visit the coast.
Such an incredible place to stop and eat, enjoy some drinks while listening to live music and to see the smiling helpful faces. The service is fantastic and Maggie, Trista, and Brandy did an absolutely amazing job serving us during our meal as the other awesome staff as well. The music was awesome and the atmosphere was great!! They offer inside and outside dining. Highly recommend stopping by and checking it out for yourself.
Stopped in for some lunch at this location after fishing. This is the original place, the food was very tasty, the wings were a bit over cooked, but still seasoned very well. They are also pet friendly & have a pet menu. I luv that. ???? The view is beautiful, location is great, the customer service was also great. The General Manager was a blast! He stopped over several times and chat briefly, while still taking care of business. We definitely will recommend.
