The photos on the website looked a lot better than the room. When we were checking in, they offered to upgrade us to a newly renovated room for an additional 15 dollars. When we walked into the room, we already noticed that it wasn't as nice as the photos of the room we actually booked (the lady at front desk told us this room was a lot nicer than the room I booked), but it was still nice. Expect to spend a lot when eating and drinking at the restaurants in here. The place looks nice and smells clean. I'd definitely stay here again.
Chose this for our wedding hotel and booked 4 rooms. Two of which were for 6 nights. Loved the location for the monorail and such. Loved seeing security everywhere and how each spot of the hotel was always immaculate.
That being said. The rooms were a bit rough. Lots of damage in the room. We had to call multiple times to get anything. We only received service once during our 6 day stay. Although I think that's Covid policy, so all good on that. Called to see if we could get wine glasses and were told no unless we order something. Went to the gift shop to purchase wine glasses and we were told that the hotel could bring us glasses...so we went back up and called down for some...never received those glasses. We used the plastic cups.
Dining was great when it was open.
Asked for noon check out at the desk. Was told we would have to call at exactly 6:30AM to request it. Called at 6:30AM to request the noon check out for two rooms. Was told that the other room would have to call because its recorded? All of this felt silly. I've managed hotels for 10 years...I'm certain a post it note reminder would've sufficed instead of asking your already tired guest to wake up at 630AM to request a late check out.
Only other gripe was that you couldn't use your rewards cards on the automatic roulette machines. Spent most of our time playing roulette (it's our fave) and sadly didn't earn any points from it.
The pool hours are posted on website, but man I wanted to swim after 6pm almost every single night. Being out and about all day then going to swim is always wonderful. But I knew the hours before I booked. So my own fault.
Ultimately for the price we paid...I would end up trying a different establishment...but would come back if these items were addressed.
I travel often and was pointed to the Sahara for a conference. It was odd when I checked in and they tried to up charge me for $13 a night for the city view then later for $25 for an early check in but it was fine. The first night I took 4 customers to Bella and paid over $1000. Great meal and experience - it was worth it. The next evening I was out late with customers without food and simply wanted a snack. There was no room service. The front desk recommended Preddi or whatever the lobby venue is. Despite getting room service, I put on street clothes and went down. I ordered a piece of pizza. When I tried to charge it to my room I was told I needed an ID. I stopped back by the front desk to find if this was true and if so why they did not tell me when I asked about food options. 2 hours after I looked for food I had an expensive and cold piece of pizza. Horrible customer experience. The room was 2 stars as well.
Great staff and location. The hotel was nice all around. The pools available however are very small and not much room to squeeze into. The resort is too large to accommodate a fraction of guests in the pool areas. Vacationing in the desert heat, this needs addressed, especially after being charged a resort fee. Great place if you don't want to relax at the pool.
Great rooms. I actually give this hotel a 4.5. Its at the end of the monorail, but we like that. Staff friendly and courteous. Bed was comfortable but a little hard. Overall very nice. Oh, no coffee maker......
Arrived on a late flight and was confronted with a huge queue at check in - this wasn't ideal. The room was nice, a good size and the gym which I used once, did the job. Staff are generally courteous and friendly, but the location is a little far from the central amenities. There are two pools on offer - too shallow and short for serious swimming, more for relaxing with a drink. Overall, a nice enough hotel - shame about the hefty resort fee, which I believe should really be included in the total price.
Where do I start… You literally have to wait until 4 to check in. They tell you rooms aren’t clean but if you pay $25, one will be cleaned and ready for you. Rooms are small work no microwave. The bathroom has a glass door that doesn’t lock or fully close. The bed sheets had blood and other stains. I arrived on Sunday. Between Sunday and Monday I had to call front desk like 5 times. Everyday the “new sheets” had to be changed because of stains. Ice machine didn’t work on multiple floors. They gave me $50 in food credits. That’s it. Terrible terrible hotel. I’ve stayed at less expensive hotels and had better amenities and much better than Sahara. Don’t waste your time and money here!!
Beautiful hotel with free valet, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great amenities. Depending on the time of day the check in/check out desk can be really busy but otherwise everything was terrific.
Perhaps an odd thing to note but their complimentary toiletries were top notch.
