Best WLM Reviews

Beautiful ambience. Lighting is warm and wonderful. Service is exceptional at the bar and within the dining experience. Staff are kind, very knowledgeable and attentive. I went for dinner and each dish was unique, so flavorful, and finished. My friend and I splurged on the white truffle risotto and we savored each bite with intention and joy. We had a delicious time. Thank you!
I loved it! Such a cool place in the inside. Charlie Chaplin’s house. So rustic and very cool architecture. If you have more than 6 people you need to book a pre fix dinner. That was a bit complicated since they charge for no shows so luckily we ended up with 6 people and called ahead the same day and they were able to seat us.
We got about 6 or 7 dishes and 3 desserts. Plenty of food and it turned out to be like $80 a person.
The baguette was delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I’m not a duck person and that dish had great flavor though I didn’t eat too much of it because it was a little too rare for me. Our favorite was probably the pasta that had squash in it. It was really sweet but delicious. And there was another pasta dish that was good as well. They also served us complimentary soup. The basil was very strong on it. The strawberry tiramisu for dessert was light and delicate and not too sweet. The chocolate torte was good too.
Also there were some celebrity sitings during our dining. We did this as an after work event dinner. It’s great for that, taking a client, a date or whatever this place is awesome. Def come here! Staff is super nice and very accommodating.
large portions and slightly salty but always a classic when in LA!
must get their French toast - simple but so yum and warms the heart.
busy on the weekends so come during the weekdays for no lines/short waits.
got the soup, salad, and sandwich which I loved and was definitely full after the first half of the sandwich.
Best eatery I've been to in a very long time. Most places need gimmicks to coerce people to check them out. There is none of that here. No shows, no bait and switch, just competence, efficiency, and quality. They have their operation down pat. The long lines move relatively quickly and the lines are long for a reason. Everything is so good. Everything is done so well. They get their dishes out quickly. We were in at out if there in no time and everything was amazing. The way the staff coordinated everything was amazing for the volume that they do. Everything just works. Everything is beautiful. Everything is great.
I came in with high hopes given the glowing Google reviews, but my experience fell short. Maybe it was just my choice, but the regular breakfast was as basic as it gets. The potatoes and eggs had zero flavor, and the bacon was mostly fat—impossible to eat around. The coffee and OJ were fine, but the French toast was disappointing: just a thick slice of bread, overly sweet with no toppings. My partner enjoyed his lobster omelette, though he also found it bland. At $120 for a breakfast that didn’t impress, I’m not sure I’d return. There are likely better options nearby.
My friend and I came here for breakfast and it did not disappoint but also didn’t exceed our expectations. I don’t think this is the BEST brunch place in LA though- I’m sure there are better brunch places in this city.
We ordered the pistachio berry pie (initially it was too sweet but the pistachio layers grew on us after a few bites), the basque cheesecake was AMAZING (highly recommend to order that), the lobster omelet was pretty good as well and we don’t recommend the potato pancake. It looked much better in pictures but it was a bit too bland for us and I really didn’t like the caviar on the top.
I had an incredible experience at République Café Bakery! The patisserie selection was simply divine, each pastry was beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. I also tried the eggs Benedict on their perfectly baked brioche, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The brioche was buttery and soft, providing the perfect base for the dish. The combination of flavors and textures was flawless.
The ambiance of the café added to the charm, with its historic architecture and warm, welcoming vibe. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick pastry or a full meal, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their menu!
First of all the buildinf is so cool and beautiful. Line seems long but it moves very very quickly. Service is great. Black sesame latte was delicious and full of nutty flavor. Ricotta toast had so much fruit and it was perfect. Lobster omelette was delicious. Corque madame was good too. Salad was fresh but a little salty. They give you a lot of food too. Bathroom very clean and nice but the stall cracks are humongous... could fit my arm trhu them LOL
PARKING IS EXPENSIVE... valet only, we had to pay like 12$. There are some curbside spaces for cheaper so try to find an open spot before you choose the parking lot. Also the valet guy left his used tissue inside our car ???????? like no one wanna touch that #bwuh
