I made a reservation for one. They offered to see if there was a small table available or said I could sit at the bar. The bartender was attentive and considerate while spacing out appetizer and entree. Brisket was great. Burnt ends weren’t very burnt, but still good. Nachos were pretty good too. This was definitely too much food for one!
This was definitely the best barbecue I’ve had. I LOVED the brisket, and the burn ends were so yummy!! I’d go back again and again and again. It was my husbands birthday and I will say it’s odd they don’t do anything for birthdays like a desert or anything special. It’s probably not a very celebration friendly restaurant. kind of a bummer, but the food is AMAZING.
The interior of this bustling "meatropolis" is spacious and industrial. The staff are friendly and efficient. The menu is fit for carnivores of all ages. I ordered the Judges Combo plate and was not disappointed. Their award winning burnt ends definitely live up to the hype. They were tender, succulent and full of flavor. Their thick-cut brisket was also outstanding. And their pulled pork was some of the best I've ever had. As a side dish, the quick-pickle style dill cucumber and onion "salad" paired perfectly with their bold KC BBQ sauce providing just the right amount of acidity to balance out the sweetness of their sauce.
Really good food. Server was nice and efficient. Very loud in room. Spacing was good. No reservations and only had to wait 10 minutes.
Avoid the shrimp appetizer. Tasted good but 4 shrimp wrapped in bacon is not worth $15.
Definitely will go back.
Superb restaurant to show off KC BBQ. The quality of the food is not surpassed. Service was attentive, not quite as knowledgeable as at the Midtown location, but adequate. Wait time wasn't too bad (10 min), despite a full parking lot and Saturday afternoon dinner time. Had the best wings on the planet, burnt ends sandwich, and a half slab.
Really cool place and nice atmosphere. It was almost full on a Friday evening around 6pm, so get there early if you don’t want to wait to long in the line. I had a smoked salmon which was delicious and cooked well. The veggies were bland and didn’t taste anything. Baked beans were super sweet. We also tried the brisket and was delicious. So go for the meat, the sides are ok but not good. Also there was so many flies around that was annoying. But at the end worth place to try for the meat.
We had a reservation and still had a long wait. The guy at the front was not very friendly. Just said we were checked and to wait. There was no where to wait and it was freezing outside so we stood awkwardly near the bar with 3 other couples that were waiting. We definitely were in the way but there was no where else to go. The food was very good and so was our service. My husband & I split our meals. We loved the burnt ends burger. It was amazing! The nachos has a lot of flavor but definitely needed more toppings & cheese under the top layer. We had a bunch of left over chips that had nothing on them at the end. The cheese cake was not what we expected and neither one of really liked it. The bacon wrapped shrimp was our favorite.
We took the family after a sporting event, we were tired and starving! The entire city was booming with lots of people for March Madness,but we walked in, and the service was exceptional! Drinks came out within moments, we ordered the app of the day- 5 minutes tops and the the rest of our food was quick too. Not only quick but piping hot and delicious. We have done several BBQ places in the area, but Q39 was a huge hit with our family. Go try!
