My parents have visited in the past and told me that whenever I’m in L.A. to check out Porto’s. Well, I came down from Vegas for the day and as I was getting ready to head back I made sure to stop by the store in Buena Park to pick up some goodies as I was coming from Huntington Beach.
I picked up a selection of savory and sweet items to try out. As I am half Cuban I remember eating the same items as my grandmother made and sure enough the items I picked out had spot on flavor. Next time I’m back in Southern California I am going to purchase even more to bring back. The price per item is really inexpensive as well.
The bakery inside is large with plenty of seating. They have 2 counters to order from as well as a side cafe.
This was my first time here, and I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and quality of the service. Since we were visiting the area, we wanted to buy a lot of goodies to bring back. We had ordered a very large quantity of bakery goods (wanted 3 identical sets of X-large boxes), and our bakery assistant, Priscilla, stepped right up to the task. Not only did she get everything right, she even put what she couldn’t fit into the large boxes into smaller boxes that kept the set requests we asked for. She was very sweet and speedy with her boxing, and patient throughout the entire ordering process. 10/10, amazing experience!
I also ordered a Yuzu Jasmine Lemonade, which not only looked pretty but tasted great as well. Will definitely come back again.
It's truly astounding to witness the lines stretching with over 100 to 200 people patiently awaiting their turn, while the Porto management efficiently processes orders and meets customers' expectations. This bakery is an absolute must-visit, offering a dynamic experience alongside high-quality and diverse baked goods at unbeatable prices. Personally, I found Porto's pastries delightful, whether enjoyed for breakfast or lunch. Overall, an impressive experience.
I love their potato balls and cheese rolls here. The price is reasonable and food are really good. Come in the morning and the line wasn't that long.
My friend brought me some baked goodies from Porto’s! I feel so spoiled. Since I’ve never tried it before, she picked some signature ones to let me try. All of them are pretty nice, my favorites are the Leche Besito Cookies, Spicy Pepper PB and cheese roll. Especially the cookies, it is the next level. I highly recommend you give a try the next time you pass by.
Prices are extremely fair. Cheese roll, meat pie, and the almond croissant were my personal favorite. I would come back everyday specifically for those 3. The line is crazy long but it goes by very quick. I was in and out within 20 minutes.
"Wow, what an incredible experience at Porto's Bakery & Cafe in Buena Park! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel like part of the family. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food... oh, the food! It was like a taste explosion in my mouth!
The potato balls were out of this world - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with flavor. And the empanadas? Absolutely divine! I tried the chicken and beef varieties, and both were tender and juicy, with a perfectly flaky crust.
But the real showstopper was the tres leches cake. Oh my goodness, it was like a cloud in my mouth! So light, so moist, and soaked in just the right amount of sweetness. I could have eaten the whole cake by myself (but I didn't, because I wanted to try everything else on the menu too!)
Porto's is a true gem, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and get here ASAP! 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it 10 stars if I could!"
I had been to the Burbank location but never to this one. Found it by accident. It has a clean industrial kind of look that you wouldn't think was a restaurant. It's also BIG! They have the whole building to themselves and a good-sized parking lot. The same menu items you get elsewhere. And service is very cheerful and efficient. Feels like they're emulating Disneyland. And most important, the food is very good! I had a cilantro Caesar salad and black bean soup. Excellent and reasonably priced. Huge servings too.
