Nice sandwich and pastry shop. The pastries and the food was amazing. The line was long, but the had a lot of staff and we received our food quickly. I’m giving one star because I also ordered a coffee and it wasn’t very good and it came 15 minutes after we finished our food.
Finally found great Cuban sandwiches (and medianoches) on authentic (correct) bread! Plus great, extremely affordable pastries.
Would be a smart place to get a birthday cake - such great prices!
Service from Peter and everyone else was great. I like how they call you by name. Dine in or take out. Parking on side and in rear
I only wish they had authentic Cuban coffee like I used to get in Miami.
I remember when there was only one location in Glendale, I never minded the long lines because the food was always worth it. Their lines move deceptively fast though, so don’t let them deter you. The Burbank location is located right on the corner, you can’t miss it. You always have the option of ordering ahead online. I’m a huge fan of all their guava items. They also have seasonal items like the turkey potato balls during Thanksgiving.
They definitely stay busy throughout the day, but they have plenty of seating if you want to dine in. Bathrooms available to customers as well.
This place is awesome. It sort of has a good memory of Barns and Noble book stores in their best times. The food is beyond good. It’s delicious. It’s perfect. We tried stuffed potatoes, a savory dish, that was interesting and tasty. However, the biggest hit, of course, was mango cake. Usually, it’s hard to eat a thick layer of filling. Not this one. I think I could enjoy it just by eating from a cup. Also, the Napoleons were just as perfect. The crunchy layers were indeed crunchy, which is almost never the case with Napoleons.
Enjoy it!
The food was really tasty and soo good! I had the croissant sandwich which was really flavourful and yummy. The service is decent, usually always packed with a bunch of people. Seating can be hard sometimes but once you see a spot you better claim it! Tables are usually cleaned right away. The atmosphere is nice but a little crowded and not much free space. There are a high volume of people that come here so be aware of delays.
Today’s visit was absolutely amazing, we sat longer because of the experience and great conversations with Gerald, Masoud, and Karen. Thank you for making our visit memorable. We love Brenda.
Thank you, Masoud!
I have to start of by saying i been going to Portos since i was a kid! I remember going to Portos in Glendale getting a chance to tell Original owners a simple "hi", because i didnt know who they where but mom taught me how to be polite! Anyways, as a child i member being welcomed in to Portos! When i went yesterday, a gentleman named MASOUD, helped out my sister and I, taking our order, having a quick little conversation with us, he honestly made me have a nostalgic moment, that feeling i felt as a kid. That reason is why i choose to still continue on coming here as long as i am blessed to. Specially every time i visit back here, since i am now living in Colorado, the pastries and bake good continue to taste as delicious as my first visit. The quality of the food is excelent. And the service is always a great one. Portos always stay as great as you are????????
Porto’s Bakery and Cafe in Burbank is a must-visit for anyone who loves delicious pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. The bakery is spacious and cozy, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is courteous and efficient, and they always greet you with a smile.
The spicy potato balls are the highlight of their menu, and they are worth every penny. They are golden brown balls of mashed potatoes, mixed with ground beef, onions, peppers, and spices, and deep-fried to perfection.
I highly recommend trying them, you won't regret it. Portos bakery is one of my favorite spots in Burbank, and I can't wait to go back.
