The Legendary Pink's Hot Dogs: A Must-Try for Hot Dog Lovers!
Since 1939, Pink's Hot Dogs has been an iconic Los Angeles landmark, known for its mouthwatering hot dogs and famous chili, made from cherished family recipes. This lively spot, often visited by celebrities, is a must-visit for both locals and tourists.
The food is incredible, and the atmosphere is vibrant and fun. Whether you're a local or a tourist, I highly recommend stopping by for a hot dog.
And don’t forget—the chili is what makes Pink’s truly special, so be sure to add it to your order!
The onion rings are really good. Hot dog was good, but I have to tell you the bun was dry... it wasn't soft and fresh tasting. I didn't understand why there were 2 different size hot dogs either. The atmosphere is probably why you go. The staff was friendly. Bathrooms... it was a gas station bathroom. Smelled so bad.
Pink’s is timeless, as delicious today as it’s been every time before. The crowd was not as big as I’ve seen it, but the speedy service hasn’t changed. The parking is limited, but there’s plenty of street parking and a second lot in the back. Every meal I’ve enjoyed has been great pairing them with a Black Cherry Soda or Root Beer. The Al fresco dining area gives off a vibrant trendy Hollywood live eating experience.
Pinks is an iconic local LA eatery! When you’re in Los Angeles it’s a must do! Lines might be long but it’s worth the wait! Many choices for hot dogs, and some yummy fries as well. There is outdoor patio seating but not much parking. Park on the street (don’t forget to feed the meter) and enjoy a fun meal!
The problem with these type of places is that their reputation tends to precede itself but this is a tourist hot spot that delivers exactly what it’s supposed to.
Starting with the dog itself, their original is a high quality tasting dog, not revolutionary in any sense, but solid and tasty nonetheless. They also have a polish dog that you can get spicy or mild, also very tasty and the casing has a bit of a bite which I like.
Where you can really experiment is the toppings. We got the Guadalajara and the Chicago. They actually tasted fairly similar but you can really go crazy with some of their other options.
The surprising hit though was the chili cheese fries. Seriously some of the best I’ve ever had and the crispy/soft ratio on the fry holds up perfectly. Their chili is seriously where it’s at so I’d probably just stick with the chili cheese dog and/or chili cheese fries next time.
For a place on melrose, they’ve also got a surprising amount of parking and seating as well. Recommend coming a night when it’s not too hot out.
A Legendary Experience at Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs
If you’re looking for an unforgettable culinary adventure in Los Angeles, look no further than Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs! From the moment you arrive, the vibrant atmosphere hits you, filled with the energy of excited patrons and the aroma of sizzling hot dogs.
The first thing that struck me was the sheer efficiency of the service. Despite the bustling crowd, the staff at Pink’s don’t write your order down—they memorize it! This impressive skill adds a unique charm to the whole experience and makes you feel like you’re part of something special.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The hot dogs here are nothing short of extraordinary. Each bite is a perfect blend of flavors and textures, with the snap of the hot dog complemented by the freshest toppings. Whether you’re indulging in a classic chili dog or experimenting with one of their many creative combinations, every option on the menu is a hit.
But what truly sets Pink’s apart is its iconic status and the sense of history that permeates the place. Eating here feels like a rite of passage for anyone visiting LA. The walls adorned with photos of celebrities who’ve dined there only add to the allure.
In summary, Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs offers not just a meal but an experience. The awesome atmosphere, delicious food, and fast, memorized service make it a must-visit. Don’t miss out on this legendary spot!
Iconic hot dog joint. Good dogs, decent service. Limited seating and parking. There are photos covering the walls of all the celebrities who have eaten here over the years. Everybody and their dog have eaten here. Pun intended.
This place is definitely a bit touristy, didn't seem to be many locals but I myself traveled specifically for the opportunity to try this famous hot dog spot. It lived up to the billing with a huge variety of options, generous portions and very fresh and quality ingredients. There was a line but the staff has a military like efficiency that makes the wait seamless. I tried the guadalajara dog with jalapenos and bacon added and it's definitely a top 5 hot dog from all the places I've traveled. I also had the fries which are crispy and battered. My only regret is that I wasn't hungrier, othereise I would've definitely tried the onion rings and another dog.
