Best WLM Reviews

Food was good but not as good as the top delis on the the east coast and mid west. The quantity of the meat is very small so consider getting extra meat at $7-8 cost. The customer service was exceptional and the ambience was good as well. I decided to get a pastrami sandwich after tasting both roast beef and pastrami.
We went before a Dodgers game and the place was packed. Although the line wrapped around the queue several times and all of the tables were full, the wait to place our order was pretty quick and we secured a table easily. The food was worth every minute of the wait! We ordered beef and lamb and both were excellent. We even grabbed a little ball game snack from their concession area for later. It was loud and raucus with the game crowd but that only added to the experience!
Philippe the Original in Los Angeles, CA, is a beloved institution known for its iconic French dip sandwiches. Established in 1908, this historic deli boasts a charming, old-school atmosphere with sawdust-covered floors and communal tables. Philippe's is renowned for its tender, flavorful roast beef, lamb, turkey, and pork dips, served with a side of their signature tangy mustard. Consistently praised for its quality and nostalgic ambiance, it's a must-visit for locals and tourists seeking a taste of LA history.
Absolute must if you're in the area. We're talking 116 years of tradition. The best french dip you'll ever get. You want a cup of coffee it's a whopping $0.46. Communal table seating, cafateria style service, and great people helping you. If you go before a Dodger game it will be lines out the door, so if you can try and find a quiet between meal time to swing by if you want to get in and get out. Took me 20 years before I visited. Big mistake. Don't miss this one!
Iconic LA deli that maintains their status.
Second time here and the sandwiches are still fire! I got there during lunch and waited about 20mins. The staff were great and did their best to get through the line.
You don’t come here for the ambiance. It’s a no frills open seating restaurant. However, staff do a great job maintaining the tables clean.
I got the beef dip with the macaroni salad. The beef was so tender and flavorful it melted in my mouth. Add some spicy mustard for a kick.
Tip… it’s walking distance from union station.
Highly recommend and I would definitely go back.
The place is a legend but this is my first time stopping by. You jump in line and place your order at the counter.
They have a large assortment of sandwiches, pies and drinks.
After paying, find a seat. The ambience is relaxed so tables are “firehouse rules” so sit down when you find an open seat.
The food is delicious!
Been 15 years since I've been there. The meat was dry without the dip would be inedible. My beef I cook isnt like sandpaper very disappointed. Good service but that didn't help our dinner
As nostalgic to Los Angeles as you are going to get. A Family favorite since the 70’s. Beef with cheddar full dip with plenty of their hot mustard (buy a bottle for home) is the go to, pickle is a must and all sides including pickled eggs are delicious and interchangeable. Arnold Palmer or a beer on tap. Get some Pie!
