Best WLM Reviews

I’ll start by acknowledging that I’m no expert on Chicago-style pizza—I can only share my experience based on what I tasted.
With that said, this pizza place came highly recommended by several people as a must-try for authentic Chicago-style pizza.
I made the journey from downtown, waited three hours (passing the time by catching a movie across the street), and finally sat down to order. I went with a large pizza (though I initially wanted a medium, but no big deal), some wings (skip), and a Caesar salad (also skip). Then, the much-anticipated pizza arrived.
Yes, the pepperoni was nicely toasted, and yes, the crust was crisp and crunchy. But for me, it didn’t hit the flavor notes I was hoping for. It didn’t leave me thinking, “Wow, I can’t wait to come back!”
Maybe my expectations were too high, or perhaps I just don’t know what I’m talking about when it comes to Chicago pizza.
But for me, Pequod’s didn’t live up to the hype.
Apologies, Chicagoans. ????
Was told this is the spot for Chicago deep dish pizza by my friend who has lived there for a long time. Was also told getting a table is difficult and both are true. Make a reservation well before. I made ours a week out and the only time we could get in was 5pm. The restaurant is really cute and casual, staff is super friendly and the pizza did not disappoint! I got cheese with basil and fresh garlic. My friend got sausage and pepperoni and we both really enjoyed them. I also got the house salad, she got the Caesar, really good size for a starter salad. Fresh and yummy, forgot to take a pic of them tho. ????????‍♀️ Definitely recommend and will be back for sure.
First time trying Chicago Style pizza, and I enjoyed the experience. I asked a friend from Chicago where should I go and this was the top place. I have an individual deep dish with all veggies and everything was super fresh! The pizza was more than I could ever eat! Although I am not a fan of saucy pizza, the freshness of this pizza was a big plus! If you like think crust pizza with a lot of sauce, this is your spot! I will just stick to what I like, thin crust! Thanks for the perfect intro to Chicago style pizza!
Came here right when they opened and we got seated immediately. It was still a long wait for the pizzas but worth the wait. Best deep dish pizza I've had, the cheese was melty and gooey and eat slice was packed with toppings. The onion rings were a hit too.
It was my first visit. The other three family members had visited earlier. The service was good The food was decent. My family members commented it wasn’t as good as earlier. The pizza crust was burnt, but that could be due to my requesting the pizza to be well done. However, Pequod’s needs to do some serious pest control. I caught, using a napkin, a roach climbing the wall next to our table. And my daughter has a dead one on the table next to her plate. The staff comped us a pizza. Thanks. But please do pest control immediately. I have come away with mixed feelings. Considering the hoops I had to go through to get a table, it’s not worth it. But, will I go back and give them a second chance? Yes, but only after post control.
First visit from out of state. Pequod’s is a true gem for deep-dish lovers. The standout feature is their amazing caramelized crust—We had the pepperoni and sausage classic, which was absolutely delicious. The toppings are generous, and the sauce is perfectly balanced, and a load of cheese. While reservations are recommended, we were seated without one. The atmosphere is casual, fun, and welcoming, making it a great spot for groups or families. Excellent service and a Chicago pizza experience you won’t forget. Highly recommend!
This is the place to try Chicago deep dish pizza. Lunch is very busy, so reservations are recommended. The personal pan size is perfect, leaving you sated but not feeling unwell after eating it. I definitely suggest getting giardiniera and meatballs as toppings. Skip the Italian beef. Don't bother paying for fresh basil, which is literally one measly leaf. You order from a QR code via Toast, but good luck trying to get a server to refill your water or bring you a to go box. Nevertheless, if you want deep dish, it's worth it.
As amazing as you've heard. It's like deep dish built on the best pan crust ever. I was impressed by the size of the restaurant. We had reservations long in advance, but it didn't seem too crowded around noon during a summer Friday. The service was really nice and chill. Our waiter Alex was great! Can't wait to visit again. I'll be craving this pizza!!
