For the price, I cant complain much. The price was great and half the price of any place nearby. Stayed here years ago when it was fully the Hooters Hotel, and it was better then. ||||But way too many issues...one semi-functional elevator in a building this size is just rude. Usually would have to wait way too long just to get to our floor...also the down button on our floor didnt work, so we had to hit up to call the elevator. ||||There were a few hairs in my bed when we first got into the room, 100% not from us.||||Way too many areas in the room that had caked on dust, imagine the staff doesnt have much time to clean the rooms due to the budget. ||||Very poor upkeep of the rooms, like stains, dings, rust, ductape on the shower curtain and the TV had like 6 working channels.||||Our hallway on the 12th floor had a weird scent being pumped into the hallways maybe to mask the cigarette smell, but it was way too strong and one day it was straight up spraying a foggy mist into the room. ||||The good: ||||Bed was comfy enough, pillows were okay, outlets worked, view of the airport and pool was great. Not too noisy despite being near the airport + a helicopter landing area. Pool was nice, casino area is small but fine. ||||||Again, the price made me kind of accept all of these issues, since we were in town for a last minute business trip, budgeting was needed and this worked. Knowing all of this stuff, I likely would book again if I was in a similar situation, needing to stay where we did for the budget we wanted. If was in town for something special or not budgeting for a group, I would for sure look elsewhere. ||||||
I made the mistake of booking before reading reviews and was really concerned after reading many negative ones, and seeing many negative YouTube videos. Boy was I pleasantly surprised on arrival. At check-in I used the $20 tip method and asked if any upgrades were available . I was given an 8th floor, strip view room. It was not Cosmopolitan quality, but it was quite nice. Clean, comfy beds. Only room complaint was a very slow bath drain and a wonky closet sliding door. I was traveling with my disabled 25 yo son, who is wheelchair bound.I heard horror stories about OYO’s elevators, but never encountered a problem. The staff were uniformly friendly and attentive. The casino floor staff were a blast to play with, talkative, humorous. They even fist-bumped winners. Didn’t use either restaurant, so can’t comment on those. Pools were sparkling clean and the music wasn’t blasting loud. I would definitely stay here again, especially as low cost as it is.
If I could give this place 0 stars I definitely would. I would definitely not recommend this place. Upon arrival the lady up front was texting and ignored my spouse instead of doing her job and checking her in. Then we get into the room and it was an immediate no for us. It was completely unsafe and unsanitary. The door had no security lock and there were multiple stains covering the floor. Blood stains seeping into the carpet and in plain sight. Looked like nothing had been wiped down or updated in forever. It may show as cheap on any website but it was actually extremely overpriced. You get nothing for what you pay for. They take more care of the casino than the actual rooms and customers. The customer service was horrible and completely no use. Would never go back and would pay more money for nicer, safer, and cleaner place. Save the money and go elsewhere.
Stayed here for over a week. Rooms were fine no issue. Staff throughout the hotel were tremendous very welcoming, friendly any questions answered. Casino host Tiffany was super helpful made the trip more memorable also Carlos at the bar was keeping us topped up throughout the trip. Recommend staying here great location and the staff will make your trip very special.
I can only review the casino. In a world where the gambling is changing, the options here are welcoming.
Save your resort experiences for the strip but nothing wrong with a trip to play the tables here. Dealers here keep their tips - it's their income and it shows. A little tipping (relative to your betting) goes a long way!!
Pros:
Great Location: Situated conveniently near the airport and central to the vibrant Vegas scene, perfect for budget travelers seeking proximity to the action.
Affordable Price: As expected from a budget hotel, the rates are wallet-friendly, offering great value for those conscious of their expenses.
Cons:
Basic Amenities: The hotel lacks the extravagance of additional amenities; guests should note that perks like complimentary coffee may not be provided.
Room Condition Variability: Feedback highlights discrepancies in room conditions, with some spaces appearing outdated or not meeting cleanliness standards. Managing expectations is advisable.
Overall:
The OYO Hotel & Casino caters well to budget-conscious travelers seeking a central location and affordability. However, anticipate a straightforward experience and consider bringing along personal comforts like coffee.
Tips:
Prior to booking, reach out to the hotel directly to clarify any concerns regarding room conditions or available amenities.
Pack essential items such as coffee or toiletries to ensure a comfortable stay.
The reception desk was not friendly at all. No worlds of welcome, no smile no explanation of anything. The front desk asked us if we wanted to upgrade since they didn’t have any of the rooms that we had booked.
Definitely was disappointed about the reception desk.
They said that there was a view of the strip, however, the view is of a demolition zone. Not the most attractive view, but at least we can see, the casinos on the strip.
This was a clean room. The second day we stayed, cleaning ladies came, and we told him to come back, but they never did. Things are outdated in the room. The bathroom was clean, but there was chips in the paint and the tub looked stained. The tub was blocked with hair.
The window was missing caulking, so when there was wind, we could hear the wind from outside.
There is no fridge. At least the room was quiet.
It is handicap, friendly, although there is only one elevator that works. We came Memorial Day weekend and there was literally lines to use the elevator.
At least it didn’t smell like cigarettes. It was really a basic room.
The elevators were out of service. The only elevators available to use for the entire building were the service elevators. I didn't feel comfortable taking of my shoes in the room. Common surfaces were not wiped down and disinfected like the doors and counter tops. Did not feel comfortable sleeping under the covers. It's worth paying more for cleanliness and safety in accessibility than to be inconvenienced like this.
