The staff here are phenomenal and made for an exceptional stay. There is a large offering of restaurants both inside the hotel and very close by. We dined at South Kitchen for lunch most days; the buffet was fresh, nutritious, and delicious and allowed us to eat quickly during fast conference lunch breaks. Ask for Shermarkie - the best service I've ever had! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and the overall experience was high quality. I spent most of my days inside conference spaces so I wasn't able to experience everything the area has to offer. But there is a lot! I would and will stay here again.
We thought we were splurging on the quality of a four star hotel but we were very wrong. I regret not doing more research but this was a very disappointing stay and you could not pay me to go back.
Positives: the location and the kind staff at the restaurants.
Negatives:
The pillows smelled like smoke, we got replacements after the first night which were better but that also brings me to another problem. They were only able to give us feather down pillows and both my husband and I had congestion from these dusty pillows even after replacing them.
The north tower rooms are extremely outdated and you still pay the same rate for these rooms which have borderline disgusting carpets. My toddler managed to find toenails and sunflower seeds on the floor. I only felt slightly better when I had socks on and didn’t have to touch the carpet directly.
The bathrooms have no fan you can turn on and the shower is extremely dark. My son was afraid to take a bath both nights we were there because it was so dark in the corner where the bathtub was.
Finally don’t come here expecting to easily get ice. We searched four floors for ice before going to the front desk asking for some. We were directed to this abandoned floor in which we searched high and low for ice only to find it in the corner in a coke bucket for everyone in the entire hotel to scoop out of. I understand the north tower is going through renovations but that is really weird and unsanitary.
I’ve learned my lesson on this hotel and I won’t assume a four star rating means it will be upscale. The convenient location did not make up for the poor quality rooms and amenities.
Only two people staffed as servers in the draft house restaurant while there were thousands of convention goers looking for a place to eat. The servers and bartenders in both restaurants were un-attentive. The only choices for breakfast are a $30 buffet or to wait in a HUGE line to buy a coffee and one of several small choices like fruit cups, pre-made salads etc. If you're not early enough they run out. The newly remodeled room I was in was great (ask for these because I heard bad stories about the older rooms). This hotel is a convention hotel that can't handle a convention.... it's weird.
From check-in thru departure this staff - trained and well treated to - provides consistent, friendly and helpful service to their guests. The architecture is sophisticated late 20th century and - understanding the rooms are being renovated - the quality of the classic rooms was well designed, built and if high quality. Really liked every aspect of my 5 day professional stay at Omni Atlanta - highly recommend this jewel ????
First off, let me say it is a beautiful property, convenient to the convention center. My critiques are geared toward the comfort for people who travel for a living (and are over 40).||Ample desk space is provided, with adequate power, HOWEVER, the desk chair was a stationary arm chair that weighed a ton and hurt my back after more than 45 minutes (and I spent WAY more than 45 minutes in it).||The showers do not have hand-held apparatuses, just shower heads. However, they were generous with the wash cloths, so that matters.||No magnification mirror in the bathroom for us over 40.||If you or your company is concerned with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) then you may be horrified to see that every light and TV is on when you arrive and the thermostat is set to an extreme temperature (for me, in Atlanta, in May, it was set at 67 – very comfortable, but very wasteful)||Conversely, they do have a great housekeeping opt-out where you can donate meals by refusing housekeeping for stays of a certain duration.||All-in-all I would stay here again, but if I stayed for more than two days I’d buy an office chair, it would save me money on physical therapy in the long run.
I got a room with a balcony facing the street. The window did not close properly and there was no noise isolation and I could hear everything from the street including drunk people and loud music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. A disaster. Front desk was truly helpless and said they could do nothing. I had to insist that they contact the police at 1 am and yet nothing happened given that the mess kept on. If you are attending a conference, the decent option appears to be a new hotel on the opposite side of the CC. The restaurant service was also dreadful given that the servers left me you talking alone. Avoid, avoid, avoid
The rooms are outdated, at least the one we had. The sports bar is fun to go to and has an outdoor patio with a great view. This hotel is huge and has lots of weddings and business meetings and conferences. The catering for the meeting I attended (breakfast and lunch for 2 days)was wonderful! Great location for walking to several bars and restaurants. For how busy this hotel is, it was quiet in the halls where the rooms were. I have been here twice for company meetings and it is an overall great place to stay,. Also has a coffee type shop/store and another restaurant.
This is now one of my favorite hotels. The location is very convenient and next to many attractions and restaurants. It is super easy to get around as almost everything is within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helped us check in as soon as we arrived. They got us a very clean room with a nice view of the park. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the floor was quiet. We had a very peaceful stay. They also have a coffee shop near the check in that makes excellent coffee and hot chocolate. They also had very nice decorations during Christmas that we enjoyed seeing and taking photos with. Thank you for an amazing stay, and I hope I get the opportunity to visit once again.
