The tram ride up to Ober Mountain was excellent! The swings, carousel, ice bumper cars and ice skating were all pretty small and carnival/fair quality. We waited an hour for the mountain coaster and it braked a lot and was not thrilling. The alpine slides were slow and they barely left space between you and the person in front of you. It was all just overpriced and low quality. I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends.
Lots of attractions here. Worth the trip and the tram ride offers lots of beautiful views. The mountain coaster is fast and also the tubing. Best bang for your buck compared to the others around.
Great experience. Went towards the end of Feb 2024. Unfortunately, the weather was 54 degrees. However, Ober Mountain still had the man made snow/ice everywhere so you could enjoy winter activities. The snow tube was great and the experience of riding the cable car was great. Buy tickets in advance. Additionally you can drive up to Ober mountain but I would recommend taking the cable cars from Gatlinburg, a little pricey but worth the views and experience.
Had a great time. Rode the ski lift, scary but fun, to the top of mountain. Went ice skating and did the ice bumper cars. Small outdoor zoo was cool. Saw big black bears. Great time for the money. About $200 for 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 13). Beautiful Smokey Mnt scenery.
First off, I went during a week when there was rain. So I missed many of the nice features.
The skiing was just okay because there was not enough "snow" and it got too warm to make more. Even though they advertised 30" base, it was not.
The live view cam was VERY helpful.
The overall facility and personnel = fantastic!
This was a lot of fun. A lot slower pace than a normal theme park, but great activities and a small animal park. I loved the ice bumper cars. Our group rode them 4 times
We loved Ober Mountain! Kids had the best time. Went right after some rain hit, and it wasn't busy at all. Kids spend 5 hours having fun with no waits!
My family enjoyed our day skiing! We stayed from 10-6 and had a blast. There was never a long wait for ski lift, however my young children had lots of difficulties getting on and off. This was their first time skiing and they picked it right up after their hour lesson with the instructors. The hill for them was the perfect size to get down and not fall to much to get over it.
The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 was some of the staff was not the most helpful or kind at certain times. But others were very helpful and respectful. The ones on the lifts were always king and patient with us on the lifts. Our daughters skis were taken from the area you leave them when you were taking a break, but it was easy to replace and the guys behind the counter were very nice and helpful.
The price was reasonable and fair for what you get. We have definitely paid more for other places and received less. This is a great place for beginners as it is smaller and less slopes than other places but great for our beginner children. There was some of the higher slopes that needed more snow fill in.
