The nugget has great food and good slots! I always win in here and they give great comps as well. I love this place. There isn't always a lot of people or overcrowded! The seafood spot in here is absolutely fabulous and the people who work here are great as well! Good job!
I had to check in late at 11pm due to flight cancellations and reroutes. When I arrived I could only check in with the automated kiosk. The reservations weren't correct, but I couldn't make any changes to the systems predesignated settings. I reserved a single nonsmoker room w/ king bed, but was placed in a double queen smoking room. The room needed renovations badly as the steel bathroom vanity light fixture was covered in rust, the tile was dingy, and the room overall looked aged. The next morning I spoke to the staff at the registration desk who placed me in the room I reserved originally, which was much nicer and updated. Unfortunately there were cigarette smoke smells originating from the HVAC when we ran it over night. On the third day of my stay, the bathroom had no hot water, which they eventually fixed. I would say this was a mediocre experience.
The hot tub and pool were very nice although there was a family of guests who were playing music very loudly. We asked the pool attendant about the rules for playing music, and she kindly asked the guests to turn it down. Those guests then retaliated against us which resulted in an unpleasant verbal altercation. I think it would be beneficial if the hotel posted some rules against blaring music in the pool area.
Even as a smoker, I really don't like that people are allowed to smoke inside. My non-smoking room was on the plus side of adequate. After decades of free valet parking, they now charge $10 per day, which I don't like. Best thing here are the restaurants. Rosie's Cafe and the Oyster Bar are both fantastic. They always have been.
It's definitely safer than Motel 6. The only place that I felt uncomfortable was the lounge /sky bridge area to the parking garage. Some people sleeping there and someone appearing to be homeless followed us out of the casino to our car. As far as the room, it was fairly clean. Had to clean the shower out. We asked for a wash cloth and were told there were not any more. We had a double queen room and 1 wash cloth. We were given some hand towels, though. Rosa's Cafe, in the casino, was excellent! The service was great, the food was great, the price was decent. The location was convenient for what we were doing in Reno.
Though there has been a lot of changes I still like the Nugget. Got a great deal on the room, yummy dinner at the Oyster bar (please don’t change the decor) & We had breakfast at Rosie’s and absolutely loved our server Megan G! Great personality and service
Everything I would expect from a casino resort. 6 elevators so never had but a 10 second wait to get around. Food is delicious. One of everything in the gift shop. Staff was incredible each and every one. Was a work trip and we stayed at the Nugget. Great location you can see it from the highway or perfect parking and vallet.
Melody was absolutely exquisite, she went completely over the top to accommodate us!!! Anthony our server as well, very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Best service we’ve had in years anywhere.
I enjoyed our stay, although our room was not cleaned after 1st night. We returned from the day and evening out only to find room still as we left it. I was expecting the room to be cleaned and straightened up daily. Is this normal policy?
