Great hotel, one of the best on the strip. Has a lot located inside that you barely need to leave. Nice rooms. A bit confusing to navigate but they all are. Connected by bridges to the other MGM properties which makes it easy to walk around. Good food options. Fun casino and bars.
Have visited Vegas before staying at other hotels.
Pros - good location, bedrooms a good size, great power shower, room fresh & clean, and the best bed I've ever slept in ????.
Can recommend the Irish Bar, pancake house, Mexican restaurant and the village deli.
HOWEVER
Con's - self check in inefficient, when we arrived the one member of the team, Chris, was helping so many people to check in. He was very patient & his assistance appreciated but would make more sense to have a manned check in desk for weary travellers. Last thing visitors want is to self check in.
But my main negative comment regarding this hotel was being duped for time share! We had a long distance flight arriving late, after self check in, heading for the elevator, a member of staff offered to help us and also offered reduced price theatre tickets for their show. We were fatigued but had wanted to see the hotel show so agreed. We were taken to a desk, asked lots of questions, credit card details taken and advised when & where to collect tickets. At no point during this conversation was TIME SHARE mentioned. When we got to our room I checked the paperwork only to see it was a 2 hour time share presentation. To say we were furious was an understatement. I immediately went back down to cancel, request no charge be made on the credit card and express in no uncertain terms how they had taken advantage of tired travellers and failed to mention it was time share. This was very underhand & dishonest spoiling our trip. I did email the hotel asking for someone to contact me, I'm still waiting for a reply ????????????.
Just wanted to make other people aware of this tactic. We booked another show at another venue without any hassle.
EDIT UPDATE AT BOTTOM. New York New York used to be my go to when I came without my dogs. After this experience with my dogs I may change my mind. The front desk lady was not helpful as my reservation was not correct. When asked if there was a charge per night for dogs was told no just one fee. But was charged for both nights when I had to extend my reservation. When I arrived to my room I found it to be covered in long white dog hair, with drool drops on the tile. I expect the room to be at least clean. There are areas where dirt is viable on the carpet. No refrigerator was in the room nor was I told there wouldn’t be one, for my dog’s wet dog food. Was provided a roll in refrigerator (that takes a large portion of the small space) complimentary. My room was about as far as you could get to the dog potty area.
No dresser and limited space for clothing.
The roller coaster is easily heard until 1140 on a Wednesday night.
Dirty laundry in a bag sat outside my door for hours, I checked in at 430.
Not all the lights on the elevators function.
The elevators don’t keep your level, if someone gets off before you. Making you have to re-select the floor, after swiping the key reader again.
For 200 a night durning the week, I’m not impressed.
* Update. Called the front desk, asked about the cancellation fee if I chose not to stay the second night due to the dirtiness of the room and the roller coaster noise. Was offered another room. At this time my senses are maxed so I declined and again asked about the cancellation fee. I was placed on a brief hold, when she returned I was told they would fully refund my charges for the second night and also proved a free late checkout. Couldn’t be happier with how it ended. Still not sure I’ll ever bring my dogs back.
Changed service from a 2 star to a 4 star.
The room work perfectly for us. It was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable.||||The casino had a good selection of slots and was more traditional than many which made for a fun atmosphere. Too bad they allow cigars smoking.||||We were pleased with the selection of restaurants and the meals we chose.||||Best of all, the staff at NYNY went above and beyond. They were friendly, helpful, and did their jobs well.
The New York-New York Casino in Las Vegas is a fun place to visit! It's huge and has lots of games to play, from slot machines to table games.
The casino also has a cool roller coaster and plenty of places to eat. The staff are friendly, and the whole place has a lively vibe. I love how they have created a mini New York right in the middle of the Strip!
Great location near the middle of the strip.
I did not stay here. We went into Gamble and also they have restaurants and shops as though you were on a New York City street. There's pizza and a deli and a bao place, Nectar bath shop, Swatch, Mad Apple shows, there is even a roller coaster you can get on! Fun place!
Very fun place! Tons of unique dining experiences and quick access to the strip. Room did not have a mini fridge or coffee maker. Few room ammenities but extremely clean and comfortable.
Stayed for 2 nights during a conference that was being held nearby. Really liked the new updated/renovated rooms. Only downside is that despite being a non smoking room it smelled strongly of stale smoke. Guest Services immediately sent someone up to freshen and it was much better. I love the location of this hotel; close enough to walk to all the major sites but plenty to do onsite if you don't want to venture out. I'll be back...especially to recoup some of the money I lost ????????
