The hotel is beautiful with excellent options for food, entertainment, and services. The primary benefit however is an amazing and welcoming staff. I had flown in, red eye, from a meeting on the West Coast to a meeting on the East Coast. Due to scheduling I arrived at the National Harbor at 6am...my room couldn't be ready for hours and my meeting started in 2 hours. Chanelle, from the front desk, was my angel. She gave me water, found me a place to freshen up and change, guided me to coffee and my meeting location...I couldn't have done it without her.
For the second time this year, upon arriving (after normal check-in time) my wife and I were told that our room was not ready. Earlier this year we were asked to wait, which we did, for about 4 hours. We found this to be unacceptable considering what we spent on a room for Friday (& Saturday night). While I understand that there is plenty to do on the property, my wife is not able to walk for extended periods of time, so we like to get settled in our room upon arrival so she can take a break if/when needed. When we visited a couple weeks ago, we were again informed that our room was not ready and were asked to wait. After about an hour, we had enough and spoke with someone in services who granted us a room. The room smelled like smoke but at least we were able to get in it before the evening, this time. In the men's spa, the sauna was out of order, which is again disappointing for the money spent here. The positives were that the shows and restaurants were great while the staff was friendly, as always. We do enjoy going here but the check-in experience has definitely gone downhill, fast, over the years. Lastly, we were told by someone at the property that we would be contacted in the coming days regarding our issues, yet no one did so. I also filled out an email survey about our trip, again expressing our unhappiness with our experience, and still, no one has contacted us about it. It leaves us wondering if anyone reads the feedback given or they just hope it's forgotten about and things move on. We are open to returning but we are currently highly disappointed.
If referring to the MGM casino yes the resort is beautiful, and the casino floor has all the latest slot and some older machines as well as table games.
However, typical corporate greedy casino operation. Don't waste your money as you have little return to player odds. Whatever the state min. they can legally set a machine 88%, 90% I can guarantee that is what it set too.
Even the lower volatility, multi denomination games rarely get a line win and if your lucky to make it to the bonus mode it barely pays.
Buffalo bonus paid around $3.70 and Dragon link maybe $20, and never hit another bonus. One time only and it takes your money away as quickly as it takes your dollars.
All the other games I played not once came close to a bonus.
Never again and if you think you'll have better odds at an MGM owned casino in Vegas think again having lived there 17 years.
Do NOT recommend.
Pure corporate greed having blackjack 3 to 1 payouts to 6 to 5 and added another zero on the roulette table zero, double zero, triple zero.
Sad truth when the odds are already in the house favor at least let our money last for a good entertaining night out.
Extremely disappointed in our experience. Multiple issues with our stay including the type of room we were given (which was not appropriate for a professional/family/girls weekend… better suited for a hotel that charges hourly or for those seeking a very specific experience of that nature), fines for using the in-room refrigerator for your own items, hidden fees for requesting a refrigerator (if you need to refrigerate medications, formula, etc. rethink staying here), double billing on tips, etc. Almost interaction with staff was a disaster - extremely unhelpful and in some cases downright aggressive. All in all, I will not be returning to this location and will highly reconsider any future stays at an MGM property. If you want to enjoy the casino, I recommend staying elsewhere and getting a rideshare to the location.
I want to thank Teresa for helping me on Tuesday night December 10th. She spent over an hour trying to assist and working with the managers to help provide me with top-notch service. I appreciate her patience in trying to make sure I had the best service ever. Thank you so much, Teresa for your kindness and patience.

I like the casino and hotel. The hotel is very nice, clean, the beds are comfortable and the decor is great. Love the views from the Potomac and Capital side. I felt very safe staying at this hotel. The casino is one of my favorites and I’ve won a couple of jack pots. I find their machines are loose on certain days and times. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. Also the theater is great. I sat on the floor seats, but I think the risers may be better next time. It’s tight sitting next to people without any space or arms on your chair.
Had a great time.. went to see a comedy show. Everything was super clean. The service was amazing. They helped me get to my seat later. I was comfortable the line to get refreshments was quick, but I did come early. The prices for drinks are a little pricey.
This place is the definition of low-class masquerading as luxury. My wife left her cosmetic bag in the room, and not only was it never returned, but the customer service we received was hands down the WORST we’ve ever experienced.||||Nobody had a clue what they were doing. We called multiple times, only to be passed around from one clueless person to another. Not a single staff member provided a clear answer or took any responsibility. It was like they didn’t care at all—zero professionalism, zero effort. For a resort that charges premium prices, the service felt like a shady roadside motel.||||MGM National Harbor has proven that they couldn’t care less about their guests. If you want to deal with disorganized, incompetent, and rude staff, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the frustration and take your money elsewhere. We’ll NEVER stay here again. A complete joke of a "luxury" resort.
